“A gastronomic delight!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 April 2013

We heard rave reviews about the food (& environs) from friends who have stayed there (#10 I hear is the place to stay), but nothing compares to experiencing it yourself!

Oh it was absolutely wonderful! Fresh baked breads such as pita bread & baguettes, freshly prepared food seasoned with real herbs and spices (veggies & herbs grown in their own back yard!) A gastronomic delight! You cannot go wrong with anything chosen on the menu and the best thing is it's never the same thing every day...unless you request something simply because it was too scrumptious to only have once!

We feasted, and enjoyed bottle after bottle of exquisite wines from Sicily, Switzerland and Italy (yes we had quite a bit!), some we weren't familiar with but were highly recommended by their staff and again - you simply can't go wrong!

Special thanks to Inn keepers Barbara & Shireen and their staff (Kerri & Antwon in particular) who were very warm, attentive & entertaining.

We'll be back soon and this time we're staying for at least a week! :)

“A+ and great options for vegetarians/vegans!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 April 2013

We loved everything about our experience with this restaurant. At the outset, they were very responsive to our emails and even offered to get special items to suit our dietary needs. When we arrived, they greeted us and walked us up to the upstairs bar. They were very patient in explaining the menu to us and educating us on some of the local produce with which we were unfamiliar. They had excellent appetizer, entree, and dessert options for vegetarians/vegans!! After placing our food order, Anton asked at what time we would like to be served, and then took our drink order. We sat on a couch with a beautiful view over Port Antonio eating a mixed nut variety while enjoying delicious hand-crafted cocktails. We were then taken down to the outdoor dining area, which was simple but pretty and relaxed. Then the feast began! To start they bring you a variety of breads, at least 6-8 types, all warm and fresh, with 3 types of butter - um, yes! We got one vegetarian and one vegan appetizer, both excellent, and then we were brought fresh salads with produce right from the garden on site. Choice of 3 dressings, all excellent. By this point I could've left as full as I had been in a while...but the entrees were no dispapointment! I got a curried lentil dish while my girflriend got a seared tofu (forgot the seasoning), both delicious. We were so full we coulnd't finish but luckily they had a sorbet on the dessert menu that wasn't overly filling, yet delicious, so we at least got to try some dessert.
And if you're not convinced yet, for all that food - bread basket, 2 appetizers, 2 salads, 2 entrees, 2 cocktails, and dessert and total came to right around $100 w/o tip! It is not a cheap meal per se, but was an extremely great value. I would recommend it 100% and would go back in a heart beat!

“Stunning, Ethical, Delicious”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 March 2013

My dad, great-aunt, brother and I ventured up the bare, hilly track that leads to this restaurant to find a place with a lovely view for our post-beach day dinner. We met a truly stunning sunset, 180 degree pan. - there's even an elevated platform above the rest of the hotel for guests of 2-4 to enjoy an exclusive dinner with 360 degrees of sea and mountains. We got what we wanted on that front! What really surprised us was the quality of the restaurant. Our waitress was truly impeccable and knew all of the sources and processes of the food on the menu that night - she had even made some of the sauces herself. All the food is organic, and locally and ethically obtained, and there's a 'meatless Mondays' for vegetarians. I had a wonderful evening, if a treat price-wise, and it caters from teenagers to great-aunts!

“Very enjoyable dinner experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 March 2013

My husband and I had dinner at Restaurant Mille Fleurs earlier this week and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I had contacted the restaurant by email to see if reservations were required and received a prompt reply from Shireen (one of the owners) explaining that reservations are requested so that they can ensure there would be items on the menu to our liking. She asked if we had any dietary restrictions or if there were any items that we DID NOT eat.

We were invited to come early to enjoy a drink while watching the sunset over the waters of Port Antonio and we were very happy we came early. The view is absolutely gorgeous, the grounds are beautiful and the restaurant is very nicely decorated with locally made furniture and artwork.

This is not a fast food experience -- every meal is prepared to order and it comes a little bit at a time starting with homemade breads and special flavored butters, then mini dumplings in a pepper jam, soup and appetizer, and then main entrees and dessert. Since we had mentioned we preferred seafood, we were offered an appetizer of lobster salad in a papaya shell that was not even on the menu board and it was delicious! All the food was great and the service was excellent.

We had a nice conversation with Shireen about her experiences as a business owner in Portland which we really appreciated as we have recently purchased a farm nearby and are trying to learn as much as possible about the area. We also appreciate the owners' respect for the environment and their efforts to run the hotel/restaurant in an eco-friendly way.

Overall, a wonderful experience and I'm sure we will go again.

We both enjoyed cocktails, lunch and dinner. Caters for diets such as milk free, good home made cooking. Wonderful rum cheesecake.
