“Don't hesitate!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 January 2014

This little ramshackle place is amazing! On the main road, from first glance, it looks like a tiny beach shack, but once inside and down a few steps, the restaurant opens up wide and with nice views. Dickie, his wife and son put out some of the best food in Portland!

“Quirky experience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 October 2013

This was a must do on my list of things to do in Jamaica, and we weren't disappointed by the experience. You must remember that this is an Ital restaurant, and the choices are therefore health conscious. We love eating chefs choice, because we always get something we would never otherwise order. The location was as fabulous and quirky as we had hoped it would be. Our visit was actually in June 2010.

“Nice for the atmosphere, food of variable quality”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 August 2013

The location is unbelievable, the atmosphere great (you feel like eating at someone's house rather than in a restaurant), the food is of variable quality (fantastic avocado salad, sad over-cooked lobsters). All in all a memorable evening.

“Felt like family - played soccer with nephew on the beach after”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 June 2013

This was by far the most amazing dining experience I have ever had! We were the only couple dining. Dickie and his family including his grandson (who was 11 at the time, 13 or nearly 14 now, waited on us. Dickie cooked and his son served us lobster that melted in our mouths and several other tasty courses. They really allowed us privacy to do whatever we wanted. We struck up a conversation and after dessert sat with us while we talked and learned more about their family, the restaurant, the history, and their culture. They invited us to their private beach after dinner and we went out and played soccer with the neighborhood kids, swam and relaxed. When we went to leave they offered us coco-water from coconuts they had just pick!

We were the only diners at this little shack on the side of the road..when you pull up you think that not even two people can fit inside..or that its going to fall down around you..and how good can the food be??..well..negative to all the above..it is very small..and a little old and slanted//and you think u r going to fall off the edge of the cliff lol..but you are treated like royalty when you walk through the door..they only offer red stripe to drink(which was great for us but don't expect an extensive wine or soda list) but you get a five course meal (that your hotel or villa will order in advance..you tell them what you want.. from jerk chicken to seafood and they will prepare it for you no problem mon)..also it was a special occasion so with a little preparation my husband and I were so lucky to have one of the original Jolly Boys(who started the whole Jamaican music movement) meet us there and serenade us during our entire stay which was so authentic Jamaican and so heartfelt that it brought tears to my eyes..I thought I would be so dissapointed when I pulled up outside this little restaurant..I left with nothing but happiness and joy in my heart..along with a full belly and memories to last me a lifetime!!
