I was recently married at Hotel Mockingbird Hill. Shireen and Barbara made sure everything was flawless. They took care of every detail, minus the dress. I didn't have to worry at all. I can't imagine it could have been any better. Everyone left saying it was the best wedding anyone had ever been to(3 days in heaven. How could you go wrong?).

The food was excellent, with attentive service(Thank you Jason, Gerald and Ian). I think every plate went back to the kitchen clean. The foodies were happy.

The view from here is amazing, both mountains and port. The gardens themselves are a work of art complemented by various sculptures throughout. Absolutely beautiful, filled with birds and butterflies.

The local trips they organize are better than if you explore on your own and worth every penny. Barbara and Shireen's have been doing this awhile. Their advice was priceless. I owe many thanks to them and their staff for making a hassle free memorable wedding. My highest compliments to everyone that is part of the staff.

We stayed at this hotel to celebrate a friends wedding. The rooms are large, clean and tastefully decorated. We even had a hammock placed in front of french doors leading to a cozy balcony. Best place for a relaxing nap. The food was amazing, everything tasted delicious and fresh. The hotel is surrounded by the most beautiful garden I've ever seen. It's huge and on different levels. Small paths and stairways lead you to hidden places and ponds with water lilies and tadpoles.
The owners Shireen and Barbara were very pleasant and approachable. I definitely want to go back and spend more time in this Paradise.

We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay here and are planning to come back. Thanks ever so much. The time you were here allowed you to get a taste of the lovely landscapes and experiences you can enjoy. You do need to come back with more time to be able to really explore and enjoy the many attractions in the area as well as really being able to catch your breath and relax.. We look forward to seeing you again - and perhaps we can do a culinary session together as well.

Our Stay at the Hotel Mocking Bird Hill, this past week, was a glorious experience!

The views from the hill top terraces make dinning on the terraces very romantic. The grounds are lush and serene. And, our room was lovely and very clean.

The staff, which takes its lead from Barbara and Shireen (the owner/managers) are delightful. They are not only charming, but they anticipate your every need.

The food at their restaurant “Mille Fleurs”, which is on the premises, is delicious. Barbara, who is the chef, designs menus combining locally grown produce in a most creative way. We couldn’t stop raving about her creations.

We also enjoyed bathing in the ocean at Frenchman’s Cove which is very close by and free to Hotel Mocking Bird Hill guests. In every way, it was a holiday to remember.

Room Tip: We stayed in room #2, but I don't think you could go wrong with any room choice.

Lovely to hear that you enjoyed yourselves so much. Having such appreciative guests makes our work so enjoyable and we had fun as well.
We have more adventures in store for you so waiting to hear when you are bringing your other friends with you - maybe over Thanksgiving? Look forward to hearing from you and meanwhile we are practicing shaking up a mean CocoLoco; guess we will have a competition when you come. The special offer at the moment is fresh Passion Fruit juice from our gardens and passion fruit Daiquiris and Martinis.. .. tempted? Come back soon - till then, as they say in Jamaica "Walk good!"

Up a narrow winding road on Mocking Bird Hill lies this amazing small scale ecological friendly hotel with the best food we had in Jamaica. We had two rooms (numbers 8 and 10) with an amazing view. The beds are huge and comfortable and together with the installed fans and anti mosquito nets we slept like babies. There are a lot of breakfast options, all very tasty but the fruit was the best! So sweet and tasteful! Most hotels have a fixed menu. Not here! Every night the menu is different and all the meals we had were amazing! There is a lot of nature to see in the huge gardens but if you would like to see more of Jamaica the owners can recommend trips and locations and help you get there. But this hotel is so relaxing it makes me not want to leave. Seven days was to short...

We are just a plane ride away - so head back here the next time you need to chill out. We look forward to introducing you to the other great experiences and this time you will be able to take it really cool and easy because you are now familiar with everything ... including the peep peep sounds of our nocturnal concert that lull you to sleep at night ( no needs for those ear plugs! ) It was wonderful having the opportunity to welcome you and we thank you for all your generous contributions to supporting our school programme. The kids really appreciated all the toys. Take care and "one love".

We wish we had stayed with them but were only there for a dinner. The host Shireen is very personable and brings a personal touch to your experience. The food was simply the best meal I had in Jamaica. The starter and soup both used local ingredients with an international twist. They run a special meatless Mondays but the fixed menus everyday carry imaginative vegetarian options. I highly recommend this hotel and their restaurant to visitors of Port Antonio.

Thank you! It was such a pleasure talking to you. Aside from the daily vegetarian options, we can also cater for special diets such as lactose or gluten free - please just advise us in advance so that we can plan the menu accordingly. With our daily changing menu, we focus on offering good, tasty and creative dishes using fresh, local, seasonal products, some of which comes from our own veggie garden. We know you are going to return to Port Antonio so we look forward to welcoming you back then - hopefully it wont be too long! Till then, take care

This was the second place we stayed at on our travels through Jamaica. Sherri, the owner of this lovely place, exudes love and comfort and a welcoming space as do the rest of her team. She gave this place a feeling of being home and though again there are a lot of places you can go to and bird watch (the indigenous Jamaican owl is said to be findable in this area), which we did not- there are a lot of other things you can do. Mocking Bird Hill will organise a massage for you as well if you like and if this is something you like- then you should do it! One hour of complete bliss! This is done in an outdoor covered area but there is still a small area where you can look out of and really soak in the beauty of this place. Port Antonio is the closest town and there is a marina there where you can find Devon I-Scream house:-) The food is exquisite with each night having a 6 course option! But it's all so moreish that you cannot help yourself but eat all of it! It is again home cooked fresh meals served by charming team who really you really couldn't help but fall in love with:-) We got a day pass to Frenchmans Cove- a beautiful cove with the trademark clear waters of the Caribbean and white sands where there are men who catch fish freshly (with a harpoon) and sell for you to eat. the nearby restaurant will cook this for you if you ask:-) There are also the Reach River Falls closeby (go with the person Sherri organises for you as you get to go the path most tourists do not) and this is an experience you will never forget! The guide was a lovely lady with amazing knowledge of the plants and animals and herbs in the area. I highly recommend this place to anyone who loves food, luxury, being pampered, beaches and adventure. One more thing! The beds are monster size doubles so sleep is always good and you can make coffee in your room before you go down for breakfast! Nom nom nom:-) There is also a swimming pool and the other guests are very friendly. We stayed here three nights and we could have easily stayed much much longer! Thank you very much!

Room Tip: Any room you choose at this idyllic hotel will be perfect. There is no such thing as the wrong room...
