This place was amazing! The staff treat you like family and by the time you leave you feel like family. Marley will take exceptionally good care of you, and you won't be able to beat Donna's cooking! If you really want to see Jamaica don't bother with Sandals go to Moon San instead. I was apprehensive traveling alone but by the end of my trip Marley made sure I was comfortable and more importantly having a blast! I really can't say enough good things about this place!

My girlfriend and I visited the Moon San Villa for 4 night in June 2013. We were a little apprehensive, as we'd had a few interesting experiences getting around the rough and ready roads in the area. We needn't have worried at all - it was fantastic! The building is easily accessible from the main road, and ideally located about 2 mins from the lagoon itself. We had the run of the house during the off-season window and enjoyed an exceptional view of the Blue Lagoon from our bedroom window. Greg, Marley and Miss Donna were excellent, hospitable hosts and we enjoyed trips out to San San beach, exploring the coral reef and swimming in the world famous lagoon (I didn't, but my girlfriend did). I cannot overstate the sheer magnificence of the location. During sunset, hummingbirds came to sip water and greet us on the balcony - and best of all is the lack of touristy rubbish that seems to blight areas like Negril and Montego Bay.

If you're looking for a lovely spot to rest your head, where the locals keep to themselves and you're interested in seeing the real Jamaica. This is your place. Big ups to the Moon San posse.

We stayed at Moon San for 8 nights and loved every minute of it. You feel like you are staying in someone's home but at the same time you enjoy complete privacy. The art work is divine and the views of the lagoon and sea are out of this world. We loved Donna's delicious breakfasts every morning and local dishes at night. Marley was there to guide us to the local beaches on the villa's own boat and even took us to a local cultural show one evening. We also had a blue mountain bike tour thrown in to the stay and that was another memorable day. Greg the owner made us feel very welcome and had loads of good advice on what to do.

The room and stay was extremely comfortable for myself, my husband and four year old son.

If you want the opposite of an all inclusive resort holiday, then stay here.

basically no other resort will give you the package this villa gives their guests. the room comes with complimentary breakfast. the blue lagoon is just a minute walk away. you can see the sunrise and sunset as you wake or go to sleep. the balcony view is amazing

also complimentary are the boat rides around the blue lagoon, san san beach, monkey island and bike tours to the blue mountain. ask donna or marley for ANYTHING and they will set it up.

rafting on the rio grande river can be had and let me tell you it is a lifetime experience.

reserve restaurants in the afternoon for dinner or be left on your own.

Geejam is a wonderful place to eat, even though it is pricey, the ambiance was exquisite, the service was out of this world and do not even mention the delicious food.

we had a massage in our room and also taxi to and from the villa can all be worked out by the staff.

the master suite with the balcony and ac was divine. the art work around the villa is amazing and exquisite. I have got to say it was a vacation

Our family of four stayed at Moon San Villa in February, 2012, and we had the vacation of a lifetime. Greg, Penny, Rachel, and Marcus made the stay incredible. Port Antonio has so much untouched beauty. Moon San is nestled between the Caribbean Sea and the Blue Lagoon. It is not a common tourist destination so Rachel and Marcus were invaluable. They know their way around the area and proved to be excellent tour guides. The helped us plan our adventures and discover beauty beyond measure. They made the local Jamaicans accessible to us since they both know so many people in the area. Greg & Marcus took us out snorkeling our first day. Rachel took us for the best jerk chicken on the island, to secret waterfalls, and on back roads through the mountains. Marcus helped us navigate our way through town and the market. Penny always made sure we had everything we needed that day for our adventure. We forgot to bring beach towels and suntan lotion, and they made sure we were covered. Greg also owns the Blue Mountain Bike Tours and includes the day trip as a complementary part of the stay. It was a highlight of the trip. Neither words nor photos do justice to the raw beauty we experienced. If you are looking for a resort on the ocean that could be anywhere - just sand, beach, ocean, and beach chairs, this is not the place for you. But if you want to experience Jamaica and what makes it unique, you couldn't find a better place to do it. The villa is clean, spacious, and the hosts are incredibly hospitable and knowledgeable. Sitting out on the front deck, overlooking the Sea and drinking fresh Blue Mountain coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening, was itself a highlight of the trip.

Tip #1: Jamaica is a cash culture. Do not expect to use credit cards very often.

Tip #2: I suggest that you plan your meals in advance since there are not many restaurants readily available in the area. Donna and Iceland are excellent cooks. Donna will cook dinner for you as often as you would like, but she goes home at 5pm so it requires some advance planning. The grilled lobster dinner she made us was incredible!

Tip #3: Driving in Jamaica was difficult but worthwhile. We would not have been able to experience nearly as much as we did if we had not had a car with us.

I had no idea what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised. Large and lovely home with friendly staff, that went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. Marley knew the area and all it's secret treasures, a true expert on the history, flora and fauna, and a perfect guide. Three block walk out the back door to the lagoon paradise. A short walk to picturesque San San Beach. Frenchman's cove with it's mountain fed lazy river floated into the ocean bay. Beautiful white powder beaches.

our stay at moon sun villa was planned for 2 nights. but the service was very kind, the spot was perfect to explore the bays of port antonio so we extended to 7 weeks. the breakfast with the hummingbirds was very delicious! to get around you need to rent a car. we felt very familiar and welcome.

Room Tip: the upper room is the best.
