“Had a really good time here, lovely honeymoon”
Reviewed 11 August 2012

We had a fantastic time here. We kept our selfs to our selfs but still enjoyed the atmospher.

The cottages are nice but basic. Having said that the cottage had; air con, walking closet, large double bed and a flat screen tv on the wal. The cottage was comfortable and we didn't need anymore, after all your on holiday in Jamaica, how much time do you want to spend in your room?

The hotel in kept clean and the staff are friendly. There is 2 pools, one in the centre of the resort and a smaller adults pool hidden away in the grounds. We spent most of our time on the beach or by the adult pool. There is 3 or 4 coves each with its beach. Each beach had sun loungers and were very much what you would expect, turquoise waters and lovely white sand.

We went on a lot of trips and enjoyed them all. It was a fantastic visit and we would return. My only point was food could have been more varied but it was good 90% of the time but if you just wanted a burger you could head down to beach restaurant for a late night munch.

Room Tip: Garden rooms are best, sea view not worth the extra in my opinion.

We booked this for our honeymoon and it could not have been better, the individual cottages were so much nicer than a hotel. The gardens were beautiful, the beach small but lovely, the restaurants were absolutely fantastic, the food was so fresh. The staff were so friendly, all smiles. The bar was great, every cocktail you can think of available. But what made this resort really stand out was the "Fun Crew"... I know it sounds cheesy but there were activities all through the day and in the evening there were some of the best dance shows I have ever seen. The dancers were incredible, the singers too. We met people from other resorts when we went on trips and they didn't have anywhere near the same level of free entertainment.
I literally cannot recommend this resort highly enough, made my honeymoon even more wonderful!
(I actually stayed in June 2011 but it wouldn't let me go back that far)

Me and my husband went for 2 weeks on 12th June 2012 (only just getting round to writing review),it was the best holiday experience I have ever had!! Transfers to hotel were great. We booked a cottage,,,which was great...the bed was massive!!! House keepers came everyday to clean,.,,all the staff at the hotel were lovely. The gardens were beautiful. The food was really nice, got a bit boring towards the end of the 2nd week,,,as a really picky eater,i was really worried I wouldnt find anything I like, but it was nice..Theres even a snack bar for burgers and chips . The entertainment was a bit strange,,,but what we saw was ...entertaining. The entertainment staff were really nice and friendly. In fact,,,all the staff were nice. Whilst we were there we had a couple of storms, which effected the power a few times. The generator was located behind our cottage,,,it was soo noisey we asked to be moved. After a little bit of moaning, they put us in a room in the court yard for a night....lovely room,,,because they were still using the generator they moved us to a garden cottage the next day,,it was just as nice as the previous one so we werent bothered. The power cuts did get annoying towards the end of the day,,but it didnt ruin our holiday at all.Just like at home, u have to get on with it. If your going to do any sight seeing, I would strongly recommend going outside the resort to get a local to take u,I cant remember the ladies name, but the shop on the corner(just outside the security gate),,her husband is called Bob (cool bob) he is a lovely man,,we spent the day with him, he took us to bob marleys house, kingston,,,he doesnt charge as much as the hotel tours,,,and its just you and him, so its great. If you do see him, please tell him Emma and Rik say hello :)
Any bad reviews on here, i wouldnt believe,,i was soo worried after reading the reviews before we left,,but it was just amazing. pools and beaches cleaned daily...(i saw this happen every day) oh the only negative thing i would say is that the glass bottom boat wasnt being used,,,or the banana boats....there is plenty of other things to do though,,so it really didnt matter. After a week home, I was really missing Jamaica and I want to go back there again one day. If I could go today,,I really would. Beautiful hotel, beautiful country and beautiful people :)

the fun crew and dining made this trip great and bar staff(Sebastian) i recommend to go to him he has the best drinks specials and very friendly! didn't like the prices at the gift shop or you have to pay to use the phone for local calls.. never had i ever had to but besides those points this was a fun trip at the hotel

Room Tip: i would choose the poolside easier access for late night fun!

Reviewed 6 August 2012 via mobile

Well myself and my partner went 18th of July untill the 1st of august '2012' and we loved it, a couple we know went last year and also enjoyed there stay.
After a long flight it was refreshing to walk into reception to check in and have a lovely and refreshing fruit punch waiting. Check in was very quick and we were shown straight to our hut which was situated right next to the wedding gazebo, but unfortunately we weren't lucky enough to see anything on our stay.
Our hut was number 30, once were shown to our hut and shown were things we're and how to work the shower, air conditioning etc we noticed just how clean and well kept the huts were. We had the same lady to clean our room untill two days before we left who was a lovely older lady, and was brilliant at changing all towels and bed sheets everyday without fail and we left her a dollar tip everyday and she thanked us on her last day before she left for her vacation and left a lovely flower on our bed after she had finished.
The ground themselves are stunning and very well kept, their were always groundsman out sweeping and preening, keeping everything in check which was great to see. The beaches even though they are separated are just as well kept and never too busy to not be able to find a sun lounger which was a relief. We also tipped the beach sweeper as he did a brilliant job and was always up at the crack of dawn to get rid of the seaweed and sweep the sand. I personally spent a lot of time in the adult pool and sea and both were lovely and warm and the pools were cleaned and filters changed everyday.
The food was lovely, a diffrent selection everyday for every meal time. The restaurants were never too busy and the food was ok but not amazing. We tend to stick to the buffet as we never ate at particular times. We also went up to the fun Caribbean hotel up the road via the free shuttle to eat at the Italian restaurant which also wasnt amazing but wasn't awful either.
The bar staff were all lovely people, brilliant personalities and fun to be around at any time of day and all are brilliant at what they do, but I have to say that Jason was our personnel fave as he was just adorable and sweet so we left him a nice tip to make his smile even bigger. the fun crew were all a giggle to be around and always wanted to get bothe children and adults evolved in events that they had set up. Spice, bubble, Barbie, memo, kirby are also great at what they do so if asked to join in don't do what we did and chicken out(thanks to the bf) as your guaranteed to have a great time.

All in all after doing my research before booking and also reading the negative reviews I can't help but say they were all wrong, at the end of the day it's a 3* resort so you get 3* service, yes it is an all inclusive resort and package you may pay for but don't be lazy and expect everything at a click of your fingers as the staff like our selfs don't like to be looked down up on and will pick up on the people they know they won't want to serve but have to because it's there job. Please if you consider booking then take this into consideration. You may be on your holiday but please don't be expected to be waited on hand and foot.
We loved our stay and felt so at ease the whole two weeks we were there, we will definitely consider going back as Jamaica is just to beautiful not too.

Went here for a day visit from nearby sister resort, Fun Caribbean. The lady in charge of booking offsite tours was very helpful, and the tours booked through her were much cheaper than if booked with the staff at Fun Caribbean. Don't know why. There were more beaches at this resort, but fewer pools. The staff were friendly, and down-to-earth without overstepping personal boundaries (as I sometimes worried about at the Fun Caribbean). There are also a few more water activities here. And the huts by the beaches were cute. Will consider them for a future Jamaica stay.

This is our second time staying at Decameron Club. First visit in August 2010 was our honeymoon. It was idyllic and the most perfect place. This time was our second anniversary and we were not disappointed. A few changes have been made with the dining room extended and one of the restaurants changed to a different style of menu. The dining room is definitely better with table availability no longer limited at busy times. We don't understand the need to change the Niamings restaurant to a seafood restaurant. We tried to dine here but the menu is not to our taste now. It was previously a jamaican themed restaurant which was fantastic and surely what tourists are looking for when staying in the Carribean. Hopefully they will look to changing this restaurant back to Jamaican cuisine. The asian restaurant (Jasmine Delta) was not a success this time either. We waited almost an hour for our meal and my husbands was very overcooked. We stuck to the buffet restaurant for the rest of our stay and we were able to enjoy most meals. Breakfast was our favourite meal of the day with freshly cooked omelettes to order, hot fresh waffles (amazing) and all the usual salads, cold meats, cheese, fruits and worldwide breakfast items. We didn't always manage lunch after such a huge breakfast but lunch was great. We loved the pasta station, toasties, and the different selection of meals available every day. The cookies were home-made and fantastic.
The resort itself is very laid back and the perfect place to relax. We enjoyed wandering around the beautifully kept gardens and along the beach. The whole place is tended to by a myriad of staff who are experts in their field. From beach cleaners to gardeners, to cleaning staff and waiter/bar staff, everyone is courteous and friendly which all helps to add to the atmosphere.
The adult only pool is a nice touch as we do not enjoy the noise of the kids frolicking at the pool and far prefer to read a book whilst cooling with a dip when the beautiful sun gets too much.
One of the highlights for us is seeing all the wildlife. There are peacocks wandering around, some lovely cats which we enjoyed feeding every day, sand crabs which amused us, birds of every colour and size and lizards scurrying up walls. Didn't enjoy the mosquitos though which made a very big meal of me on the last night when I forgot to apply my repellant. Very few beasties though which must be due to the cleanliness of the whole resort.
We decided not to leave the resort this time as there was everything there we needed but Jamaica has a load of stuff to see and do.
We were content to sit at one of the three poolside bars and enjoy the surroundings. As myself and my husband don't drink we LOVED the alcohol free cocktails especially the lemon and strawberry daquiris, highly recommended!!!
We stayed in the seaview beach huts which are gorgeous and cleaned every day with clean linen and towels provided. All the huts are superb and the hibiscus suites are lovely. I personally would not have enjoyed the courtyard rooms as they are older, out of the way and not in keeping with the rest of the resort.
Both visits we have travelled as a couple and left the kids at home. To be honest we are not sure if there is enough to keep children happy and therefore would probably not take ours.
I would definitely recommend Decameron Club as they are everything and more we expected.

Room Tip: Select the beach huts or hibiscus suites to guarantee a comfortable stay.
