We travelled to Jamaica for our wedding, full of excitement and anticipation and were certainly not disappointed! Everything was perfect, from the light, airy accomodation to the marvelous and plentiful food, staff friendliness, cleanliness and general atmosphere. We met so many guests that were on their second or third visit because they enjoy it so much.
Our wedding co-ordinator Diane, was wonderful, everything was taken care of by her and her team, so our day was just perfect, we cannot thank her enough for her efforts. All our requests were carried out to the letter, and Paul the photographer has provided us with some beautiful memories to treasure forever.
The whole complex is beautifully maintained, the gardens are well manicured and the beach is raked and cleaned constantly. Our beach front cottage was ideally situated, only a stones throw from the sea and a few wobbly, tipsy steps from the Swing Bar!!
Our dream wedding, holiday, honeymoon all rolled into one. We'll certainly be back!

Hi All TA's well I am now officially Mrs Mushyjam and apologies to all if my review seems like a novel but here goes.......

Flights and Transfers - TC flight was efficient and we landed in Montego Bay after just over 91/2 hours none the worse for wear. Immigration was smooth and pain free with no problems at all.

Patrick the TC Rep greeted us and our transfer to the resort again was efficient with a lovely air conditioned coach.

Arrived at the hotel after 5.00pm and we had been allocated cottages next to each other in the garden area (which Lansford and his team keep immaculate!!). Cottages were clean, bright and airy with all the mod cons needed for your stay.

The beach was kept in lovely condition by the beach attendants and the watersports team were great with family members when they signed up to do the watersports and believe me they got their money's worth from those.

I am a bit surprised about one of the reviewers comment about the weather!!!!! It certainly wasn't cloudy every day at all!!!!! It was a mixure of sunshine and clouds with a few heavy downpours every now and then but it was extremely hot and humid some days although we were more than happy with the weather (beat being in the UK!!!!).

The buffet restaurant as usual was lovely and bright and the food was plentiful - even if it didn't appeal to all palettes - there was something for everyone.

Now for the Wedding story..........

We all I can say is that Diane Fairchild had the whole thing running like a military operation!!!!! She is a lovely lady who remained calm, cool and collected throughout the whole process which obviously meant that both Myself and my now Husband were completely at ease on the day with no stress (no really no stress!!) whatsoever, Even when a heavy shower decided to put in an appearance 10 minutes before I was due to meet my hubby at the Gazebo it didn't phase me at all. I received the "Jamaican Blessing" due to the shower...... and believe me I was truly blessed.

The ceremony was beautiful, intimate and more than what I had ever imagined. The lovely Rev Smith was on hand to conduct the ceremony and the lovely Paul from Joey's photo studio was fantastic. I will post some piccies real soon I promise!!!. Following the ceremony we were given a lovely reception with the fizz and cake and then had a fantastic meal in Nyamings (one of the two a la carte restaurants on site). We were then ushered onto the main stage in the evening by Reggae Charms (the resident act) for our dance. It was a wonderful, emotional and truly fulfilling day for us all and one that will remain with me forever. Thank you Diane and thank you Paul and Rev Smith for making our day a special one.

We were also serenaded at the table by the fantastic Mento Band, big up to you three for preparing a song in minutes we loved it!!!

We also met some wonderful TA's members so here goes.

Firstly a wonderful heartfelt thank you to Henry and Margaret who kindly videoed our wedding and returned in the evening with the CD that had been compiled for us. We are eternally grateful to you both and hope you enjoyed your final few days at the sister complex at Montego Bay.

Big hi also to Shefx and Hubby who we also met at the RDCC and enjoyed a banter with as well as Heather and Merv and Sue and James hope you all enjoyed yourselves.

Finally a big big thank you from all the family to Delmark and Natoya on Reception, the lovely Headley, Demeque, Taneisha (you are a superstar), Old man Stewie, Albert, Jungle Man George, Lansford (thank you for the flowers!!!) Dan, Marlon the watersports team and finally the fantasically funny Rockie, Frisky, Storm, Medusa, Natalie, Fras, Christopher and the rest of the staff who made our stay a fantastic one.

We will be back next year - for sure.

First trip to Jamaica. Thomas Cook cabin crew could have been a little more friendly! Transfers to and from airport well organised. Hotel staff very welcoming. Accommodation satisfactory (garden cottage) quite basic but clean and tidy. Beach immaculately kept and beach attendants friendly. Offered the local drug of choice once but what do you expect going to Jamaica and no problem when we declined the offer. Food was great and loads of variety and the drinks even better! Massage/spa treatments available, even on the beach! Ambience and atmosphere during the day and evening was excellent. Day trips were trouble-free but do negotiate the price. Bar staff were brilliant and the entertainment staff attentive. Just one word of warning; some of the entertainment/DJ staff are VERY adept at charming the pants off of you (literally) so DO NOT believe a word they tell you! Do visit the British Bulldog bar just outside the main complex.

For a hotel listed as a 3 star, this was a great little place. We had a Garden Suite at the back of the grounds, as we had asked for a quiet room on booking. The staff were very friendly and delivered a consistently very good level service, this probably due to the constant checking by supervisors in the restaurants, bars, housekeeping and gardens. The food was very good, plenty of variety and two good a la carte restaurants with unlimited visits to each. The bar staff were very efficient and entertained while serving drinks, many of which were international brands. The beach was constantly swept and kept in top condition, there were plenty of sunbeds with palm leaf shades for those who wanted them. The entertainment staff did their job well during the day and night, they were attentive to everyone, whether they joined in or not. The only downside was the con of the upgrade scam run by Guest Services Manager Diane Fairchilds. Guests had slips of paper pushed under their doors virtually on a daily basis if they were in the cottages, asking if they would like to be upgraded to their 4 star sister hotel, The Royal Decameron Montego Beach in Montego Bay for the last 3-4 days of their holiday. Don’t do it, compared to the Club Caribbean, it is the pits. We weren’t going to bother until a letter was pushed under the door stating that a JCB was going to start work on the beach, so we went to see about the upgrade. They sold it to us with all the pictures and by telling us that it had equal or better facilities, it was on the Hip Strip, it had the best entertainment and being a 4 star things were bound to be better, but don’t you believe it, read the review of the Royal Decameron Montego Beach, Montego Bay

We went for my wife's birthday - we chose Jamaica because we thought we would be guaranteed perfect weather in January (out of hurricane season, etc). Wrong! It was cluady virtually every day and on several days it was so windy we couldn't get on the beach because the waves were too highh!

It was particularly frustrating because we had splashed out on one of the beachside bungalows, sothat we could just step out of the accommodation onto the beach... but in reality we never set foot on the beach all week! Oh well, you can't blame the hotel for the weather.

Apart from that, it was a great holiday. The hotel privided everythihng we could conceivably want and they certainly live up to their motto - "we don't have problems here, only situations".... we did have cause to check that out. On our arrival on the first night we checked into our room, which was the closest bungalow to the bar and restaurants, at 2.00 am. We did not get any sleep, because of the noise the bar and restaurant staff were making, cleaning up after the night before. No sooner had the night shift finished, when the breakfast crew arraived and started preparing for the next day. This was all within a few feet of our bungalow. We complained to reception and, to their credit, they immediately offered us an alternative bungalow which was fine (apart from the weather...) Anyway, they dealt with the complaint really well.

The food was typical all-inclusive fare, mainly catering for the American market. No problem with that, it was all well cooked and well presented, if a little predictable. But good value overall.

Would we go back? Yes, but only if they vcan guaratee us better weather next time!
