“Very old, tired cafe, but great breakfast!!!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 November 2013

We enjoyed our first breakfast in San Juan at this very run down little cafe that our taxi driver recommended. When we walked in we were a little nervous of what we had just entered but the staff soon put us at ease. They were older gentlemen(one of which was 82) running about all over the place as fast as they could as they were very busy with both tourists and locals. We had the coffee/tea, pancakes, mallorcas, some pastries and my children had the milkshakes, all of which was very enjoyable. It was all served on formica plates/cups, but, that didn't matter to us. . For 3 adults and 2 children it cost us approx.$30.

“Good food and pastry”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 November 2013

This little diner is in Old San Juan. We were there on a very busy morning for breakfast. It is very difficult to find a place that has breakfast in Old San Juan. and this place was perfect. The food was good but not hot when it came. I consider how busy it was and realized they were overwhelmed. The pastries in the window are fresh, made right there and very good. Service was hectic.

“Authentic food, good service.”

Great location in old San Juan, but not a place to witch I would return. You have to disregard the run-down feeling of the place, the graffiti in the men's room, and plastic eating utensils. After you do that, the food is tasty but not exceptional.

“Average food & service”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 November 2013 via mobile

Had breakfast here. We had the cheese mallalorcas, eggs, & coffee. Everything was OK. Nothing spectacular & nothing bad. Ambiance was like walking into an old Woolworth's diner. Food with a tip was $30. We left hungry. Nobody smiled at us while we were there. There are so many wonderful places in San Juan to eat breakfast, unfortunately this isn't one of them.
