It's a little off the beaten path from the free trolley and the cruise port, but it's definitely worth the walk!

I love walkin in this area. The trees surrounding the streets are the most gorgeous I have seen anywhere. The artisans market is the best place to shop for authentic and fairly priced items. When I am in San Juan I spend an entire day just walking around exploring, shopping and eating at cafe La Princesa

the beautiful vegetation, under the tree restaurant in the middle of the walk, the sea , and the whole area transports you to the colonial era.

This is a 1 mile walk along the outside of the city walls. There's not a lot going on during the week-day but scenery and cats. But its gorgeous and relaxing. Well worth a stop if you are touring the Old San Juan area.

PS- bring treats for the gatos. Many are sweet and almost all are fixed with a trap, nueter, release program. My favorite was a giant black cat that weighed 20 pounds at least.
