This place is beautiful. Must go to the cafe and sit on the patio! The service, although slow, is fantastic and the food is incredible. One of the best places I went to during my trip.

Walked down the paseo with the family and took pics at sunset by the fountain. There were vendors selling food and trinkets along the way but it was not too crowded. It was a beautiful end to the day.

Beautiful walk down the tree-lined promenade. Stop in to the Puerto Rico Tourism Company to see, which is a stop along the promenade, where you can get a break from the heat and visit the old jail cells "dungeons" out back. This building used to be the old jail before housing the tourism company. There is also an ever changing collection of art inside the tourism company. Also, if you continue walking down the promenade you will come upon La Raices which is a beautiful fountain erected to pay homage to the island's latin roots.

Had dinner here at the outside restaurant on a Sunday night. The food was good, although the service was a little slow-- but we were on vacation ... so we just relaxed.
That night the locals were walking up and down the sidewalk and vendors selling drinks. A band played and folks sat and enjoyed. All in all, a nice place to see and enjoy the real San Juan.

It's a little off the beaten path from the free trolley and the cruise port, but it's definitely worth the walk!
