Lots of walking, but fun to do for a few hours. One of the entrances is currently under construction, so it's noisy and dirty, but still open. Also, the guy at the gate didn't tell us this, but the $5 entrance fee is good for both Forts and you can just take the free trolley from one this one to that one.

We greatly enjoyed this site. With incredibly powerful views, secret passageways (you have to search hard), and an innumerable amount of historic element, any enthusiast would appreciate visiting the Castillo de San Cristobal. Be prepared to walk most of the grounds by foot. A wheelchair would not be impossible, but someone may need to push to go up certain hills on the property.

We took a cruise that stopped by. My sister and I took a tour at the Bacardi Factory and also toured the old fort. Really cool. Open and easy to walk around. I don't speak spanish so I am sure I could have had a better experience, but it was fun and got some cool pictures.

How do I put this... if you decide to see San Juan you may as well stop by the old fort and walk around. Some of the walls are still in tact and you can see some nice views of the ocean. But honestly, it's about the only thing to do in san juan and it's not all that remarkable when I compare it to other historic places around the world. The best part is watching everyone fly kites on the grassy knoll, buying ice cream from a vendor, and taking some pics of the coastline which includes an old cemetary.

Had a great time at the castle. I had never paid to enter before, but well worth the $5! Go on a sunny day as much of it is outdoors!
