This is a beautiful plaza, right by San José Church and the Cuartel de Ballajá, built on 1992 to commemorate the 500th anniversary of the discovery of the New World.

This is the 4, 5 and 6yo kids' favorite memory from our week in Puerto Rico!

It's at Tram stop 24 by the El Morro cemetery. See my photo for orientation.

They loved the fountain! It is not always shooting water. There are times when it just looks like a normal plaza so people are walking back and forth over it and all of the sudden it would start spraying. The kids loved sitting and HOPING someone would be walking over it when it started spraying again. They ran back and forth across it with other little kids. Ours had swimsuits on, but others just had normal clothes. We didn't need towels. Hey, it's vacation and they'll dry off in the heat of Puerto Rico!

There aren't a whole lot of benches and not much shade. It will be better once the trees mature.

Upstairs and away from the water is the Totem Telurico. There was a snow cone vendor up there which the kids also loved. There was another snow cone vendor across from tram stop 24 too.

There is a beautiful structure that represents the Taino heritage. There are small water shot that can wet you if you walk through a specific area in this plaza.
