Been a Puerto Rican I enjoy visiting the Island every year. El Morro is the only attraction we visit every time since we like showing our three daughters the history of our small Island. Beside the beautiful scenery and amazing landscaping El Morro carries a lot of old detailed History from the 1800's when Puerto Rico was discovered by Christopher's Columbus. The place still has old cannons and secret passages used by soldiers to carry fighting exercises. It is truly amazing to see how this giant Fort was built by hand so many years ago and it is still in such an amazing condition. I encourage everyone to visit this amazing structure at your time of visiting the wonderful Island of Puerto Rico

You have to see this site if you're here just for the day on a cruise. AMAZING views and picture opportunities and such history to know you're stepping where so many of our historical figures were stepping. Truly beautiful and breathtaking at sunset. Take the walkway along the harbor down by the rocks back to the piers and you'll find even more enchantment and a nice little tourist market of local things.

If you visit either Del Morro or Cristobol make sure to stop at the park which lays in between the massive forts. Locals fly kites on the weekends and its beautiful to see. If you'd like to get in on the fun several street vendors around the park sell kites. If you bring a lunch there is tons of room to spread out. You only need a few hours to do this. If you're not visiting the forts it won't be an all day adventure.

We visited here for the afternoons and had dinner. I wish we would have gotten here earlier to go inside. It was a great atmosphere with locals flying kites. My kids enjoyed seeing the fortress and learning about the history.
