“This is supposed to be for children but you will be very satisfied as an adult.”

Ok its a kind of fun for kids thing but go to the top floor and see amazing plants growing right there. Different types of your foods are growing at a faster pace. Spinach looks like a small succulent, just to name one. They are for sale too, check the rules for taking it home.
Then come outside and find the ice cream place that has odd flavors like beans.

“A nice change of pace for our youngest.”
Reviewed 23 July 2014

We stopped in to the museum for a couple of hours to appease our youngest (5 year old) who was a trooper all week doing all of our site seeing etc. We were pleasantly surprised at what a cute museum was right in the heart of Old San Juan on a beautiful street we walked a couple of times before. He had fun exploring there 3 floors of exhibits, making a craft, shopping in a pretend store, climbing on a small rock wall, etc. I would say you can do the whole museum in about 2 hours and it is good for kids 7 and under. For kids older than that I would suggest driving out to the Children's Museum in Carolina Puerto Rico (which is about 8 minutes past the airport).

“Good stop for a family with younger kids”
Reviewed 26 April 2014

We swung by this museum at the suggestion of our concierge and were glad that we did. Amusingly enough, adults cost less than the kids. They must have switched the prices since some of the other reviewers visited. There was a craft that was $1 extra. It was not a super large museum, but it had many areas and our 5 yr old enjoyed an activity that was just for her. We didn't have any trouble with the staff not being able to communicate with us. Most were bilingual. They were very nice and very friendly and interacted well with the families and kids. We enjoyed playing with a water table, going through a cave, learning about plants, the senses, money and several other stations.

“There is more than the eye can meet.”
Reviewed 26 March 2014

We went on a weekday to the Museo del Niño in Carolina, Puerto Rico. The entrance fees are: 10 for adults and 7 dollars for children. They have plenty of scientific stations for kids to explore. Some of the stations were too complicated for kids to understand. All of the stations had Spanish and English labels and were clearly identified. Plenty of activities for the kids to do. I must say that the kids needed to be supervised and be with their parents/caregivers. The building has two floors. Once you pay for your ticket the person at the front door will give a map of the place and tells at what station you should start. One of the most striking attractions of the museum is a plane donated by American Airlines. From time to time there are tours to teach about the operation of a plane and for the children to come in and have the experience inside an airplane. However, I did not quite understand what was the objective of going inside the airplane and watching a video for 10 minutes about an airplane taking off and landing. The brochure has a picture of kid going inside the cockpit however once inside the plane they would not let you go in. They should have someone who could draw-up some lesson plans with meaningful objectives about the significance and use of this aircraft. For the more adventurous there are go karts, but they have an additional cost of $ 5. It was worth taking my grand-kids to this place.

“My 5-year-old had a great time, although only a short time to see all exhibits.”
Reviewed 6 August 2013

We walked from the Cruise Ship Port to the Museo del Nino on a friend's recommendation. The prices were very fair ($7/adult and $5/child). We walked through the museum quickly, then went back to the exhibits that interested my 5-year-old daughter the most. She thoroughly enjoyed many of the exhibits and there was much to do for all ages. I think 5-7 years old would be the ideal ages. She was entertained for just over 90 minutes and I had hoped for longer, but it was very clean, educational, and fun.
