It's always good to know that they remember you when you stay at this property. They were super friendly starting with Ingrid Figueroa at check-in all the way to Jeanette at the pool bar. The new uniform shirts that the wait staff was wearing is a good improvement and the updates on the rooms will have me staying for years to come. Keep up the good work.

My husband, sister, and I stayed here for 4 nights in March. It was a wonderful experience and I would definitely stay here again. We had an ocean front room with a gorgeous view. The water and beach are very clean and pretty in front of the hotel. The waves were a little too rough for me but my husband loved it. My sister and I preferred the hotel pool which had a swim up bar! The margaritas and coconut shrimp are really good there. Our room was a typical Marriott room and was what we expected from the brand. The cleaning staff did a fantastic job on our room everyday. We try not to be messy but it's more difficult at the beach and they cleaned the sand out of the bathroom each day! The rest of the staff are fantastic as well and were very friendly and helpful. The location is good and we were able to walk to different restaurants in the Condado area and it was a short drive to Old San Juan. We can't wait to come back!

Room Tip: We stayed in 511 and had a great ocean view!

This was our first time staying at a Marriott property on vacation. My husband and I are SPG Gold members and usually their properties. We weren't expecting much, but were very pleased with the level of service we received during our trip. There were some flaws during our stay, but the staff made sure they were fixed.
When we arrived, our room wasn't ready, but Ilena at the front desk provided us with lots of places we could go for lunch while we waited. We were hoping for the free rum punch that everyone mentioned you get when you check in, but they didn't have any. Once our room was ready and headed to the Cabana Wing up to room 937. When we got to the room, we were pleasantly surprised to find that it was more of an ocean front room. We also had champagne and chocolate covered strawberries since we were celebrating our anniversary thanks to Waldo from concierge. We were on the top level of the Cabana Wing, so we had an unobstructed view of the beach and the pool. This made it very easy to spot free chairs at the pool and the beach. Also, it was nice and quiet at night since it was away from the nightly noise from the live music in the lobby. The room (as was the entire hotel and property) was clean. The room looked updated, although if you looked closely you could see it was sort of rushed. Many people complained about the bed being too hard, but we had no problem sleeping on it. You have a mini fridge and 4 water bottles included with the resort fee, so there's no need to go and buy water. If you need anything, though, the Walgreen's is right down the block from the hotel.
We had no issues with our room except for one day when the shower broke while I was taking a shower. We called down to the front desk to report the problem and they said they would take care of it. In the meantime, I had to run downstairs to the fitness center to finish up my shower. The staff there was super helpful and friendly. The hotel staff apologized for the mishap and sent up wine and cheese that night .
The hotel itself has plenty to do. The beach and pool area is well maintained and we had no problem getting chairs. The beach, while not as pretty as some of the other beaches on Puerto Rico, was very clean. The waves are very rough, so swimming can be challenging. The tour desk staff, especially Rosann, was really helpful with setting up tours. I highly recommend the El Yunque/Luquillo beach tour. The casino gets lively later into the night and the staff there is great at getting people into the games. We stayed from Monday to Friday so there wasn't any live entertainment the first 2 nights, but we enjoyed the live bands the other 2 nights. As other reviewers commented before, drinks are pretty expensive. However, they are really well made. The pina colada at the Red Coral Lounge was one of the best I've tasted.
My only other complaint about this place is that they need to be more strict about having kids in the lobby at night. We were enjoying some live music from the salsa band with some other couples one night. While the band took a break, a bunch of pre-teen girls took over the lounge and started dancing and yelling (all while their parents watched from a far and encouraged them by taking pictures). I have no problem with having kids on vacation have a good time, but it was past 10pm and adults wanted to enjoy the night with music and dancing. They were so obnoxious and were playing around with the DJ equipment. No one was stopping them except for one time when a manager came over and told them to stop. In typical teenage girl fashion, they didn't listen. We all ended up leaving the lounge because it was getting so annoying.
Overall, we were really pleased with our stay and even with the issues, wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for an ocean view room on a high floor so you get unobstructed views of the ocean. Also try to stay in the Cabana Wing. It's all pool and ocean view rooms and it's much quieter than the Tower Wing.

We have stayed at several Marriott’s and this one in Puerto Rico is one of the best. Great location, not far from the airport, a quick taxi ride gets you there. Check in is a breeze and there was never a problem with requested room. Clean, well-appointed and a very comfortable king size bed. We stayed two nights before our cruise to the Caribbean. Check in is at 4:00 but even though we got there early, they had our room ready. Fantastic. There are several nice places to eat on the main drag and walking the street is quite safe. After our cruise, we missed our 12:00 noon flight to Tampa, due to a problem on the cruise ship. Next flight out of Puerto Rico to Tampa was at 8:00 pm. We made the change to our flight, but what to do from 12 noon to 8 p.m. Called the Marriott and they provided a nice room so we could shower and hang out for a few hours before our flight. This is simply great service from an outstanding hotel. We always stay at the Marriot Stellaris whenever we are in Puerto Rico. Nice going Marriott.

Room Tip: High floor always better.

Picked Puerto Rico for the warmth and this hotel because of the good reviews on Tripadvisor. All the good things said previously are true. Nice hotel, a bit dated, expensive and in a good location. The absolute best thing that they have going is the staff. Every single person we encountered without exception was smiling, friendly, and helpful. Front desk check-in was off to a GREAT start with Enrique. The cleaning staff, bartenders, beach staff, and security persons were always pleasant. A very special THANK YOU to Rhona Rodriques in the SPA. It was my sister's birthday and arrangements had been made for girl's day massages and facials. Rhona handled everything and then arranged for balloons and a birthday card. How special is that? To top it off Giovanni Torres gave me the best massage I have ever had. Be sure to request him.

Room Tip: Spend the extra for ocean front-gorgeous view
