My husband and I stayed at the Caribe Hilton in August 2013. The restaurant staff were friendly, but the people at the concierge desk were not. The king room we stayed in definitely needed an update. The roof leaked during a rain, and the doors/trim overall outdated in-need-of-repair appearance of the room was not what I expected from a Hilton. I would not stay there again.

We have always enjoyed the Caribe. This is our 3rd visit here, twice for New Years Eve. The Caribe has several great options for a New Years Eve celebration. Our favorite is The Night of Wonders. Huge party! Only drawback, types of drinks sold at the party. The pre-made monitors were good though. As far as the hotel, strive is always great, beach and pool always clean. Food options on site are expensive and probably the only negative. Close to Old San Juan and Condado so eating and visiting other places is always an option.

Had never stayed at the Caribe Hilton but had stayed at other Hilton properties in Puerto Rico before. We were extremely pleased with the hotel and the quality of the service. The private beach was perfect for relaxing and even did some snorkeling. It was a perfect getaway destination.

Beautiful hotel, very attentive staff (with exception of Bell service), fun environment, lovely beach and pools. Pool temp is cold, hot tub is luke warm - the only 2 disappointments. Family of 5 had a blast!!

My wife and I spent the night here awaiting an early morning flight home. The hotel considered itself a "resort" and charged a resort fee. Not sure what I got for that? It rained most of the time we were there so there was nothing to do that might be considered special unless you wanted to hangout in the Casino, which we didn't. The hotel was fairly close to Old Town which would have been nice in better weather. Overall not a bad hotel, just overpriced for what it had to offer.

Staff was very friendly and attentive. Room was very clean. Only complaint about the room is the pocket door on the bathroom that doesn't shut all the way.

Beautiful pool but the water isn't heated. Even the jacuzzi is chilly. But it is kept very clean. Morton's Steakhouse is excellent. All the restaurants are expensive but that's to be expected at any resort. We loved the breakfast buffet at Palmiera's. The staff is very attentive especially Orlando our waiter.

It's close to Old San Juan. Would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: We had a corner suite in the tower. View was beautiful.

We stayed at the hotel in December 2013 and again in January 2014. The first stay was room 752, the second was room 852. The difference between the two rooms was stark. When walking in to room 752, we were greeted by the smell of mildew and discovered that the carpet was wet and the ceiling had leaked. It was not leaking anymore when we arrived but there were water stains on the ceiling. The bathroom had mold and large scuffs on the wood in the bathroom. We were tired when we arrived so didn't request a different room. However, in my opinion, this room should not have been available to guests until the carpet was dry, the ceiling was dry, and the mold was cleaned up. Room 852 was in good condition. No complaints.
The service at the hotel was great, particularly Hiram Avila at the pool bar. I don't know how he does it, but he somehow handles everyone's order with a smile on his face and moves at warp speed. He makes a great coquito. He is great with kids- getting them fruity virgin drinks and never seems to have a bad day.
This hotel has so much potential-- private beach, lots of restaurants, kid-friendly, etc. but it's time for a remodel/refresh and has been for a few years. As I've stated in earlier reviews of the same property and others have stated, the breakfast items available have declined over time. As a gold Hhonors member, I'm willing to pay the $10.00 surcharge to eat with a view of the ocean. But only if the food is better. It used to be, but I don't think it is anymore.
Overall, I'd stay here again. But there is significant room for improvement. And the improvement needs to come from management. The staff at the restaurants and bars is phenomenal.
