This property is located in the middle of Condado with a wide variety of restaurants and shopping within walking distance. It is right off the freeway and easy to spot even if you are not familiar with the area. The directions from our iphone took us straight there.
There is no parking on site but a parking lot a block away that charges $20 per day and has to be paid through the hotel. It was raining when we arrived so it was a bit of a hassle to haul the luggage but, in nice weather, it is not a big deal.
The front desk attendant was just there; he provided the basics, keys and directions to the room and a tiny remote for the TV with very strict instructions to return it upon check out or we’d be charged for it. Not exactly the warmest of welcomes. We had to ask to pay for the parking as well as when and where breakfast would be served in the morning. Usually the person at the front desk volunteers this information and, in most cases, with a smile (not in this case). When we checked out there was a different person at the front desk, a very nice lady that greeted us with a great big smile and a sincere and energetic 'good morning'. I wish she would have been there the entire time!
Our room was number three on the second floor. The set up of the hotel is that of a quaint pension, it felt similar to a dorm room. The room was clean but offered the bare minimum: bed, TV, safety box, 6 hangers, a small bathroom, towels and some toiletries. My first impression was: ‘feels like a room in a seminary’. It did have AC, noisy but did its job. The room was quiet which we greatly appreciated after very long, active days. The TV did not work so we never used the tiny remote but kept it in the safe to ensure we would not lose it as it had been stressed that this was a very valuable apparatus. The bed was ok but it can certainly use new pillows, ours were paper thin.
The breakfast offering was simple, continental. It included coffee, orange juice and water, cereal, toast and bagels, muffins and cream cheese pastries. I was happy with coffee, toast and the cream cheese pastries but don’t expect a hot breakfast with a big selection. There is a restaurant on the first level but we did not try it.
Overall, a good alternative if you need a place to sleep, shower and leave your belongings, that offers an ideal, central location to enjoy the area.
