“Wonderful Condo and Location”
Reviewed 14 December 2013

We booked this Condo for a five night stay in Old Town Puerto Rico. Prior to arrival the hotel staff emailed a booklet that provided very good and detailed information regarding things to do in Old Town, places to eat, available tours and information relative to airport arrival, the cost of taxis from airport to the hotel and basic information. It was of great value in making our visit enjoyable. Also we were asked for flight information on arrival so that the staff would be available to greet us. Check in was very easy and efficient and the staff was friendly and accommodating. The Condo was as described, very well furnished and very spacious. It was booked as a two bedroom, two bath and the bedrooms were quite spacious and the bathrooms very modern. The building is very old but the update of the Condo unit was very well done. It has a very large kitchen and well equipped. We were served a very nice breakfast every morning delivered to our unit. Breakfast included, bread, meat, juice, milk, coffee, fruit, and pasteries. We enjoyed our stay and would certainly opt to stay there again in the future. There were no large negatives with the exception that there was not a real hot water supply for daily bathing. We brought this to the attention of the staff and they took immediate action to get it resolved. We were there 5 nights and the problem was still being worked on during our departure. There could be a little more attention given to the daily cleaning of the bathrooms. Daily floor mopping would be helpful. These negatives were not a deal breaker. Most noteworthy is the tremendous friendliness and efficiency provided by Deveon and Franklin hotel staff. Anything we needed both were very helpful and made our stay a real pleasant experience. Overall the unit is very nice and the staff overshadows any negatives.

Room Tip: Select unit No. 6. It is spacious and very close to the roof top garden.

Stayed 2 nights on Nov. 14th and 15th. Upon arrival Devon met me and immediately offered me a cool bottled water which was very much appreciated given how hot it was. She spent alot of time with me with a map going over the sights and some of the places I wanted to see. That map was invaluable to me with her markings on it. I never once got lost and was able to map out exactly where I was going and how to get there. I stayed in room 3A and it was a spacious apartment with washer & dryer and a full kitchen. Was greeted my 2 mornings with a very filling and tasty breakfast at the time we agreed on. No need to find a mallorca with that breakfast. Loved being out on the balcony when it didn't rain and just enjoyed sitting out there with a cold one. Only suggestion for the balcony is that the railings need to be painted, other than that the room is great. When I had problems with the TV Devon offered a bottle of a good white wine even though it was not her fault. I appreciated that. The location is ideal to go anywhere. When I left on the morning of the 16th I just took a relaxing 6 block walk with my carry on baggage to the cruise terminal. Can't say enough about Devon and her friendly nature during my stay. You cannot go wrong staying here and when I get back to San Juan, hopefully next year, rest assured I will stay here again. Thank you Devon. Ed

We had a wonderful stay here during Thanksgiving week - the manager was kind enough to give us an upgrade to our room and boy, we just don't want to leave after two nights of stay! The room is super spacious, clean, have everything we need and even things we do not expect for (like washer and dryer IN the room). The morning breakfast is big and hearty, and the location is superb - less than 5 min's walk to the castle. There's a nice little restaurant within 1 min's walk, and Devon at the front desk is very friendly and helpful. We loved it!

Great rooms, spacious, with great details and an elevator for the bags!
It does not have a restaurant, just a breakfast service and a great coffee bar. But attention is great and casual. Located on a great street in Old San Juan. Perfecto for exploring the city.

We had a very nice stay at this bed and breakfast. I highly recommend staying here. Joe and Devon were so very helpful with suggestions on where to eat and what to see and do in the area. We stayed in room number 6- 2 bedroom, since we were a party of 2 couples. This room which was more like an apartment was very nice. I think it was better than what was displayed online. We were pleasantly surprised. Our friends did have a leak in their bedroom during the night due to it raining, but Devon was on this in the morning when we told her about it. My understanding is the building was built in the early 1900's, so these things will occur. The location being in Old San Juan makes staying in this B and B very unique. Get ready for the very narrow roads. We stayed here before our cruise and used a taxi to take us and pick us up. If you are staying here for your vacation I would only rent a car for the day or days you need it for out of Old San Juan site seeing, otherwise parking will be an issue. Also at this time they are doing renovations next door, which will be a nice addition to La Terraza. It did not pose a problem for us. We will definitely stay here on our next visit to San Juan. Thanks again to our wonderful hosts !

Excellent B&B in old San Juan. Clean and comfortable, best location for walking the entire area. Devon made sure everything was ready for us. Room 5 is spacious and well equipped - even if we had breakfast brought to our apartment every morning!
Roof top terrace my favourite - great for chilling with friends with wine and music.
Great lounge area - would be a fun party venue.
