Liked the lobby, interesting art work, airy and roomy.
When we arrived, there were no water in the hotel and the city . A major water pipe got broke, they said. Water trucks were delivering water for the people. When we asked where to use toilet or shower, they didn't know. When we have to use the toilet, we were told to haul the burkets of water from the roof top (hot tube). Would have been nice and professional, if they provided some water instead of giving us a buket to fetch the water ourselves. They charged full amount anyway. It's conviniently located in Old San Juan.

This hotel is ideal for short stay like for people who will go to their cruise the next day. its ideally located in the heart of Old San Juan and few walks away from the tourist attractions and restaurants.

The website clearly stated how the rooms can be loud in certain units and its up to you wether you book it or not. I dont understand why other reviewers complain about this over and over. We expect it to be really really noisy but we are too tired to be waken up by the loud party noise down the building.

We liked the bohemian style of the building and expect some flaws with it due to its old age. What I like about the management is they did not do any false advertisement. What you see in the website is exactly what you will get. The only thing we complained about was the aircondition unit but the front desk receptionist quickly put us into a new room which is more comfortable than the room we booked online.

I highly suggest this hotel to those who love nightlife, have the love for partying and passion for arts & old bohemian style buildings.

Boutique hotel, expect loud music, more tailored for singles.

Pros:
Location near restaurants, bars and El Morro
Free mojito party
artwork on walls
roof top jacuzzi

Cons:
thin walls
old in general - could use rehab
cracked tiles
old or dirty looking bathrooms - didn't feel clean
paid $120 a night, better options out there
value proposition wasn't there

This hotel was gorgeous, I loved the contemporary artsy style. We were in a room right over the alley and dont remember having any issues with it being too loud. The location is great. The hot tub on the roof was a great bonus, we met some nice people up there are partied with them after we got back from a dance club down the street for a few hours. I would definitely come back and would recommend this hotel to anyone!

Gorgeous airy hotel with modern art work and great pieces of furniture, massive chandeliers and cool reception area - and a choice of rooms to suit your taste. Decent price for location and facilities the hotel offer. Clean, simple lines and friendly staff. Close to the action - club underneath the hotel so expect to be able to hear it... or go join in. Lots of places to eat near by, varying prices and food choices to suit all.

We stayed here for one night - a Saturday night, no less. We somehow wound up in room 402--not what we had booked but this was even better! We had large doors that opened to a little patio, a small sitting area, mini-fridge and bath. The room and hotel overall were adorable. We stayed here on a Saturday night and had absolutely NO noise problems in our room. We both slept very well and I didn't even need earplugs. The location is absolutely perfect and the rooftop hot tub was a nice touch. Would absolutely recommend staying at the da house!

My husband and I enjoyed our two night stay at Da House in a perfect location in Old San Juan. We were warned ahead of time that there would be loud but cool music emanating from the ground floor nightclub and that we could choose quieter but windowless "inside" rooms. We decided to risk it with lovely room #406. Shuttered windows gave us a distant view of El Morro and the sea to the East. We fell asleep to the music of a very good band playing mostly Latin jazz on Sunday night; the next night, Monday night, no music. That was good too.
Second warning: though we loved the old painted cabinet, there was no place to hang garments. We also loved the large, antique mirror in the bathroom but it was so distressed, you could not see your reflection at all. So since I had no personal hand-held mirror, I just stepped into the hall and used the hall mirror to put on my make-up. I asked for a replacement mirror several times but didn't get one. That was ok with me; kind of funny, really. It was just two nights and we were forewarned in the guide book that some amenities would not be available. So this helped me be more relaxed with these minor deficits. This hotel room was a terrific value for the location and aesthetic and so much better than a plain-vanilla, touristy high rise!
