La Concha has beautiful public spaces. The pool areas have a luxury spa feel. The property's restaurants are quite good and the prices reasonable especially for a resort. We like that it is located in an urban area with shops and restaurants within walking distance even if some are a bit run down - a little like South Beach thirty years ago. The beach is fantastic and the view from most of the rooms is terrific. The only downside is some of the rooms in the original building are really tiny, room for a bed and night table and not much more. Also the bathrooms have a louvered door that takes away any hope of privacy so whatever you are doing in there is heard in the room. We would go back here in a minute, we would just make sure we got a room in the Tower or got a suite.

Room tip: Watch out for rooms next to the elevator or off a suite.

I was married at La Concha 6/9/12. Me and and my husband stayed in the new suites tower for 5 days. We got an amazing group deal for us and our guest. The staff are friendly and accommodated our needs. When one of my guest was not satisfied with there room, they got an upgrade! The hotel is beautiful with nice clean rooms. I have no complaints with the service. My wedding day went flawlessly and the food was amazing. Great beach and old San Juan is a short bus or taxi ride. There are plenty of shops and restaurants near the hotel as well. The only reason it's not 5 stars in all categories is the value. The cost of the food, bar etc inside the hotel is expensive but you definetly get what you pay for. Some nights the lobby had music such as DJ and live bands! Would definetly stay again :-)

My partner and I stayed at La Concha from July 5 to July 9, his daughter was getting married at the hotel that very weekend.
We loved our room, the amenities, and of course the beach! La Concha was an incredibly enjoyable stay!
What we loved the most about La Concha though, was the people! they have the most professional and accommodating staff, we've ever experienced.
The front desk was super helpful with providing service to get us into a room, especially when we asked to change rooms.
Our first experience with the hotel lounge/restaurant staff was Christy M. Pagan, who is the embodiment of a great server, she was marvelous! Everyday we saw her, her smile out-shined the blazing sun! I honestly can't say enough great things about Christy! I honestly miss her kind face and help, and just her lively spirit! Every single time we thanked her, she responded, "oh no, thank you!"! My boyfriend and I just adored Christy, her sincerity and consistent cheerfulness was a great introduction for us to La Concha, and more importantly Puerto Rico!
The wedding by the pool was gorgeous, and the catering staff was the utmost in obliging and friendly. The married couple, Johanna Colon and George Rivera, were so amazingly wonderful! They handled everything with grace and professionalism. Abel Blanco and Ismael Tejeda, who also served at the wedding were incredibly helpful and stellar in service, as well. The manner, to which they all served us, made us giddy with happiness. This team was superb!
I have absolutely no qualms in saying, that the staff at La Concha is the best the island of Puerto Rico has to offer!

Dear Guest,

As General Manager of the resort, it is always nice to hear positive feedback from our guests, especially when it relates to positive customer service. It is even nicer for me to be able to recognize our employees when they are acknowledged for "doing it right" by guests such as yourself.
Your feedback is much appreciated and I hope to have the opportunity to meet you personally on your next visit to the island.

Saludos,
Luis R. Rivera

This is a fun, hip hotel that has a younger crowd and party vibe. During the day the lobby is an open restaurant, at night a dance club. Professional staff, and nice amenities including a great pool and wonderful beach service. The casino was clean and comfortable as well.

Room tip: Ask for a high room to avoid evening noise.

We just got back from a nice trip to San Juan and staying at La Concha. We had an ocean view room in the newer tower. I found the room to be as expected. We had a one bedroom suite with a kitchenette, living room, bedroom, and a large balcony. The room was in good condition and the bathroom was nice. I guess I could see issues with bathroom privacy if you are traveling with someone that is not your spouse or partner.

We were pleased with the overall value and service of this hotel. The lobby is very chic and the poolside restaurant served good drinks and food. I would not rate this hotel as a 5 star hotel however I don't believe they advertise as one. Also, I did not see another hotel to choose from that was superior in all aspects. I know El Convento gets raving reviews but it is a small hotel in Old San Juan. There is really no comparison as El Convento has no beach access, no king beds, and brings a totally different vibe in downtown Old San Juan. Personally, we preferred having the Condado Beach access, swimming pools, and modern style. Old San Juan was only a short cab ride away when we wanted to venture out.

The adult only pool was kind of a joke. They have very limited seating available and as many reviewers have previously stated people run down early and throw towels on the chairs and leave. Also, there is no drink service at this pool. The pool itself was nice but the limited lounge chairs and no drink service was less than desirable.

Overall I would rate this hotel as the best choice to get nice beach access, shopping, restaurants, and still be close to Old San Juan. There is definitely a market for a 5 star hotel in this town.

Room tip: Ask for a higher floor if you stay on the weekend. The lobby bar can get rockin late into the night and you may hear it from a lower floor.
