Delicious meal, staff is very friendly. Simple decor nice dining experience in Ocean Park. The fried plantains were so amazing, try it with the skirt steak which was cooked to perfection. Pasta was also really delicious.

We have been eating at Che's for probably more than 25 years. We've experienced the very good and the routine. This last visit was just ok. We had made reservations for our group of 5, so when we arrived and saw they were full of people, with others waiting as well, we were very happy to get a table right away. Our order for drinks was taken shortly, and bread was served-warm and fresh. It took much longer to get our meal order taken, no doubt since our server had the table next to ours with some 12 to 14 people sitting there. Our beers were quite warm when the main courses arrived, all churrascos with different side dishes. The churrascos were barely warm, and the french fries that I had were mostly undercooked. The churrascos tasted just average. Only one bothered to have dessert. We come back from time to time expecting the really good experiences from many years back, but they just don't happen.

We ate at Che's on a Sunday evening. We arrived at about 6 p.m. The place filled up with many large groups--Che's appears to be very popular with families. The tables are formica and the dining chairs are director's chairs, so not a particularly upscale atmosphere. It was quite loud. For the most part the food was very good, but not great. The avocado and shrimp appetizer was excellent and enough for four people to have a reasonable sample. From start to finish it took 2 1/2 hours to eat and get our check, which was odd, given that there were people waiting for tables.

Che's has done a great job of bringing in Argentine and Puerto Rican cuisine together. Great Filet mignon, or skirt steak. The rice and beans are the second best that I have had (My wife's are #1). The pasta was very good. My daughter ordered the ravioli and were fresh al dente andvery tasty. Try the empanadas as an appetizer and you wont regret it.

We were three adults and two children (10 and 7). We ordered the Churrasco grill for two ($42), a Chef's salad ($11) , shrimp in garlic sauce and a hamburger ($16). The variety on the Churrasco was great as were the flavors. The Chef's salad was pale and disappointing. The shrimp in garlic sauce was excellent.

We tried a variety of desserts (ice cream, caramel filled crepes, cheesecake w/guava, and guava paste with chunks of cream cheese) all of which were quite tasty and substantial. ($7 average)

Where they earned the extra star was for the service. The shrimp was an adult portion but the server offered to bring a half-portion for the seven year-old who ordered it, so that was nice. Also, we had many wait staff come by the table to clear or refill the water glasses, or to see if we wanted anything else.

TIP: if you are 7pm diners, definitely make reservations in advance. The place was absolutely packed by 7:30pm.

We never felt rushed but the increasing volume of the dining crowd sent us on our way.
