The hotel is excellent for the rate and amenities that offer in special the golf course is outstanding. I invite business and pleasure travelers to try the hotel. The Ponce area have a lot of cultural and traditional food restaurants available very closed to the hotel. The beach is also very calm and clean.

My Mother, daughter and I stayed at this resort on Jan 12-15 during the 2nd stage of our trip. The resort was nice and clean. The pool area was fun.

We were actually here when the 6.5 magnitude earthquake hit in the Altantic ocean north of Hatillo, PR. Some of the staff blew off the earthquake as being nothing new, but other staff members were just as freaked out as we were. We did ask about emergency protocol regarding earthquakes and tsunami's but no one was able to answer our questions.

The staff wasn't very friendly (but they weren't rude either). They pretty much didn't acknowledge us unless we had a question. (We had just come from staying at the Gran Melia in Rio Grande, P.R. where the staff was super friendly. Every time you walked passed a staff member they said hello and asked how our stay was going.)

The casino was ok. Decent size but only 5 tables. Mostly slot machines.

Cons: Not a lot of choices for eating in the resort and the area right off the lobby that was a really cool looking bar area... closed the entire time we were there. Too bad because it looked like a nice place to hang out.

I would stay here again.

Before we checked in, a friend and I had an extensive conversation with a woman at the front desk about the cost of the resort. We were told that a room with breakfast would be $179 or without breakfast $169. We knew we would only have one breakfast each, but since each breakfast cost $20, it seemed better to pay $179 for the 2-night stay. At no time was a "resort charge" mentioned, nor were taxes discussed. We were quite astounded that a $25 per night "resort charge" and a $22.50 per night tax charge were added to our bill. We were checking in to a resort. Why would a "resort charge" be hidden from us? Or better yet, why would you charge a separate "resort charge" at all? I am used to taxes being added, though that should be an up-front charge too. We left feeling cheated and have lost any respect we might have had for Hilton Resorts. We spent a week in the Melia in downtown Ponce and were given the total price including taxes when we made the reservation. Why does the Hilton deceive its guests?

Room Tip: Rooms are mostly all the same

Very good hotel and excellent staff. However, they have cut back on some of the nicer amenities over the last 10 years. While I intend to continue utilizing this facility I would like to see the Executive Lounge reopened so people who choose to enjoy a quiet, congenial atmosphere to discuss the activities of the day have a private place where we can enjoy appetizers and drinks with other people of similar interests. Since I am always at this hotel on business in early January the rest of the property is swarming with college swim teams on winter break. So the Executive Lounge was a wonderful private retreat to get away from the noise.

I am a local who stayed for the first time with my family which includes three young girls. It was a great getaway. We usually go to El Conquistador which is more posh and has a great water park but this hotel has a greater variety of things for the girls to do = pool, ping pong, bikes, mini golf, chess, beach vb, etc. Ponce is on the dry side of the island so always less likely to rain on your vacation.

EVERYONE was very friendly and helpful anytime you needed anything. There were 19 of us there for a wedding with a wide variety of ages and different types of rooms. Food was surprisingly good at every restaurant and buffet we went to-impressive. The resort was pretty and very clean

I was excited about this trip, but with a faulty shower head and the lights in the room going out unexpectedly and repeatedly, I could have went to another hotel and got a better room for much cheaper.
