“Nice little boutique hotel”
Reviewed 27 March 2014

This hotel right by the center square was really nice. The big tall ceilings in your room were nice and the big king size bed was even better. Very clean. I choose an interior room at time of booking based on the reviews and all though it would have been nice to have a balcony to people watch, I am glad to have a good nights rest. Parking was no problem. Only downside was the breakfast, toast, a few boxed pastries and coffee. Would stay here again.

Upon arrival, having reread the reviews, my husband requested an interior room, forgoing our balcony room. I was skeptical, but I let it go. Boy, am I glad that I did. The interior room with the whirring sound of the a/c was sleep-able, though we could still hear the din of street noise just barely. It would have been unbearable if we stayed in a balcony room. Perhaps quieter during the week, but this was a Friday night, and the partying did not stop. We were able to sleep, and we enjoyed the charm of the hotel. Typical of a city hotel room.

Room Tip: Pick an interior room. No matter what.

This reminded us of hotels where we've stayed in Europe. The stairs up are a little worn, in an elegantly decadent way. The room was spacious, comfy bed.
We had one of the balcony rooms on the side street. We were there Sunday and Monday nights, so noise from bars and restaurants was not an issue (mostly closed), but street cleaning noise started early (4-5am). One night it was leaf blowers, the next power washers.
We were able to park on the street right in front of the hotel. Meters are not enforced on Sunday, and are enforced only 8am to 4pm weekdays, and 30 minutes for a quarter. We plugged in 50-75 cents in the morning and then went out exploring until after 4.
We enjoyed our stay!

I liked this place a lot. The room we had was fantastic! Clean, comfortable king sized bed with nice bedding, beautifully decorated room with loads of space and plenty of available outlets. Staff was nice and the location is excellent. Over all I was very pleased with this place. The wifi was useless but they have an available computer anyone can use. We had a balcony room that overlooked the street. The balcony was lovely and we enjoyed it but street cleaners come by as early as 5am with very loud leaf blowers and it is so loud it sounds like they are right in the room with you. They also take their time and it seemed an eternity before it stopped and I could go back to sleep. Ponce is generally an early bird town. The whole city seems to wake up very early and boy they are noisy. As charming as the balcony rooms are, I would not suggest them to anyone who wants to sleep in.

This hotel is a charming old building in a great location in the historic center of Ponce. After reading other reviewers' warnings about the noise levels from the clubs, we chose an interior room and were glad we did so as the overnight noise was minimal. We were aware there would be no windows, but more could have been done with the decor and appearance of the room, and it was not as clean as it should have been. The included breakfast was okay but again, more could have been done. There's not much to see in Ponce but this was a reasonable choice for one night.

There's not much to choose from in Ponce. We came to Ponce solely for the Sunday Canivale parade which was a great fun sight indeed! It's the biggest in PR but can't compare to Rio, or Trinidad or even New Orleans. It's just around the corner from the beautiful main square which is a must if you drive through Ponce on your way west to Rincon. The hotel is a bit rough. Bed king bed was 2 twins with a slight but uncomfortable gulch. Small bathroom with walk in shower. Good pressure. No ice in the hotel. So to make our cocktails for the Carnivale walk-about we had to buy some off a bartender around the corner. hahaha The room had 15' ceilings which is very impressive and a narrow but long balcony overlooking the street with the square to the right. We were on the 2nd floor of 3. The continental breakfast was a 'no thanks'. Quite pathetic. No bar. No parking but we snagged a free spot (until 8am) right out front. Oh, cars and trucks and street sweeping started at 5:30 am so despite the quaint balcony choose a room in the middle.

Room Tip: Off the street in the middle to avoid early morning street noise. The balcony doors are not very sec...

This hotel, just off Plaza de las Delicias, is very charming with plenty of old artifacts and antiques, plants, wicker chairs, high ceilings. Sadly, our lovely room #209, overlooking the street, was very noisy (there were no windows, just mahogany wooden venetian blinds). We were there for the first two days of the annual Ponce's Carnival.
There is nothing to complain about cleanliness and friendliness of the staff.
The breakfast was limited and served in the lobby's corridor (not that pleasant). We brought everything to our nice outdoor balcony every morning.

Room Tip: Despite its comfort, our room #209 should be avoided during Carnival and week-ends if one wants to s...
