“Amazing food. Excellent service”
Reviewed 13 June 2014

I had the Caribbean Lobster and my husband had the Dorado. Both were excellent and a great value. We were also pleased with the house wine offered during happy hour. My favorite was the Cesar salad, AMAZING! The servers were attentive and engaging. Lovely setting, lovely meal, lovely conversation. Great experience!

“What a bummer”
Reviewed 6 June 2014

Trade Winds was recommended to us by several people as one of the best places for fish on the island. We were disappointed. We had the whole fried yellowtail special and the Caribbean lobster special. The vegetable that came with the lobster special was yellowed broccoli. Of much more concern, however, was that I'm pretty sure the mashed potatoes were instant - the kind I'd eat when camping, not at an expensive night out. If no potatoes were available, why not mash some plantains instead? To add to our woes, we later saw the same fried whole yellowtail with rice and beans special at other restaurants on the Malecon for about $8 less than at Trade Winds. The view and the key lime pie were great but overall our meal was a bummer.

“Good Dinner”
Reviewed 29 May 2014

We had a really nice dinner here our first night in Vieques. The seafood risotto was delicious. The restaurant is staffed by great people who also work for the local humane society. It was great seeing people that care about the local animals. The food was great

“Simply delicious!”
Reviewed 29 May 2014

We were directed here by our hotel shortly after check in. We had traveled all day and just wanted a good meal. Instead, we got a great one! Their menu is so diverse! There are many choices of meats then tons of choices for how you want them cooked!! We both had curry dishes that were extremely tasty! They can be served over pasta, but we are gluten free so we had rice instead. For an up-charge, you could also get any dish with Quinoa. The drinks were great too, especially their signature drink called a Tweep! They even had a flour-less chocolate cake we were able to enjoy for dessert. This was pricier than some restaurants we tried that week, but the portions were a generous size- I took leftovers back to our room that we are able to heat up for lunch the following day. We enjoyed this meal so much, we returned another night during our stay. The restaurant is open air & there is outdoor seating as well. Either choice gives you a lovely view of the water & sunset at dinner. Very romantic spot. The reason I did not rate the atmosphere as excellent is because of the cats that roam the restaurant! Both times we dined there, there were a couple cats roaming around trying to rub our legs under the table and jumping up on the railing. Many people seemed to enjoy it and would welcome them up to their table for petting, but we did not.
