“Beach Bum Bar and Food”
Reviewed 17 August 2014 via mobile

This is a hostel and a bar/restaurant, there was usually a full bar all open hours of the day, mostly beach-bum looking guys.
We went twice this week for the awesome meat lovers pizza. Some days they have happy hour where pizza was half off! The lady behind the bar was super nice. All seating it outside with a few fans here and there. A little dirty due to it all being outside and high traffic but its still a great place! Definitely a place to go if you want to spend less than $30 for a good medium pizza and a couple medallas :)

“Good Pizza”
Reviewed 6 August 2014

Not too many options if staying in Esperanza without a car. They were offering 1/2 price pizzas from noon until 5pm (I think) so it was hard to pass on that deal. The pizzas were actually really good. We also went there on our 1st night after 8pm and It seemed like mostly a bar scene, but the waiter/bartender was attentive, humorous and had perfect timing with drinks, food, bill, etc. Drinks seemed a little pricey for me, but most things on Vieques (and Puerto Rico in general) are a little pricey. Recommended.

“Great Place, Great Times, Great Food, Great People”
Reviewed 5 August 2014

This was our 6th trip to the island and our first stop when we arrived was getting back to Lazy Jack's - we ended up going back multiple times during our trip. We love the location, vibe and simply everything about this place. The staff are friendly and engaging and it's like a British "local" where you feel you are re-revisiting old friends, rather than like many US pubs where they forget who you are a soon as you leave. Kudos to JM and Mike for making my kids and I feel so welcome. The pizza is to die for - it's almost weird to get such good pizza on an off the beaten track island. There are different levels of dining options on Vieques and there are some great places to get high end food on the right occasion. But more often than not we head to Lazy Jacks. Just sitting at the bar and admiring the spectacular view out to the bay in Esperanza is worth a visit in itself. The World Cup was also playing during our visit and we had a blast watching the final there and running into some uber happy Germans. We can’t wait to return and visit again. For the rare negative reviews here, I’m afraid those poster's just don’t “get” Vieques & Lazy Jacks.

“Best spot in Esparanza”
Reviewed 22 July 2014

Clearly the best, funky spot to hang out in Esparanza. Other places are nice don't get me wrong, but this is my favorite. Cool staff, cool patrons. Despite my over 50 age status, I fit right in and felt right at home. don't miss having a few Medallas or your drink of choice and grab a bite to eat between your adventures.
