This place is fantastic, we had a relaxing week here and did not want to go home! The hosts are wonderful good people who have gone to great lengths to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay. I found the place after looking extensively and so glad I did.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Tropico room, it was a good size with a large balcony.

Stayed for 3 days, and everything was perfect. The owner and the staff were very attentive of our every need. the rooms were comfortable and very clean. the pool private and refreshing. also, s very centric to the many businesses and restaurants that are in the area. i recommend it for everyone that wants to spend a quiet time in Vieques and love it.

Malecon House is at the end of the main strip in Esperanza and it's amazing the difference a few yards can make. At night, the music and people along the malecon can be a little noisy, but once you're inside Malecon House, you hear nothing but coquis. I enjoyed the simple, open, modern design of the hotel, which includes a cute pool, patio, tree-shaded courtyard and small library. We were provided beach towels in our impeccably clean little room and a lovely breakfast each morning on the patio (muffins, tea, juice, coffee, fruit and cereal). The bed was comfortable and housekeeping was on point. Just a short walk to some good restaurants, a couple beaches and the departure-point for at least a couple biobay tours. I would definitely stay here again.

This place is right off the main road in Esperanza. Very clean, modern, right in town (walking distance from everything) and they have lots of items available for use like chairs, coolers, snorkel gear for free. The breakfast was great with chocolate pastries and fresh fruit. There is a small pool, deep and narrow, but it's off to the side with 2 "waterfalls" so it's a nice place to take a dip. The owners are very nice. They have a sliding driveway gate and an iron door that locks at night so you will feel very safe. They have an outdoor shower which was nice to rinse off sand after a day on the beach Malecon has a youthful feel and is a great place to go with friends, couples and even solo.

Room Tip: The rooms on the 2nd floor overlooking the pool seem to be the best.

We stayed here in April. It is in Esperanza, right on the Malecon strip which is probably the most full of nightlife on Vieques. You are right across from the water which is nice. The breakfast is set up every morning around 8 AM. No eggs but everything else you would need. Coffee, tea, juice, milk, cream, fresh fruit, yogurts, cereals, pastries. There is free parking right in front of the establishment. It has modern, simple decor. It was also very close to Mosquito Bay, which for us was great because we came to Vieques mostly for this. If you would rather be in an exclusive, overpriced, and windy part of the island, try the W. But if you want to experience the true island feel of Vieques try this place. We will definitely stay here again.

...which actually isn't hard to claim, as there are only a few places in the town! The Malecon House is lovely in its own right, though. My spouse and I were pleased overall with our stay. I chose the Buena Vista room so we could spread out and I wanted a deck. The sliding doors don't have screens so they had to be shut at all times due to the mosquitoes, so unless the very loud A/C in the bedroom was cranked, it was impossible to relax, much less sleep, in the living room. Because of the loudness of the A/C, we instead slept with the (screened) windows open. The cacophony of coqils and night birds was wonderful. Waking up to the sounds of pool and grounds maintenance, etc.,plus during the evening by the bar next door, however, wasn't. I think the hotel is overpriced when I take into consideration 1) the breakfast:(cereal, sweet baked goods and fruit - no protein and nothing without sugar) and 2) the only drinking water available is from a cooler on the bottom floor, with small paper cups on the side. For $250/night I think a large bottle or glass jug of fresh water should be included at least in the Buena Vista room. For all the use we got out of the living room, I wish we'd gotten a smaller room; it would have saved us $400. Still though, the place is lovely & clean, the pool is great and the location is great. Advice to visitors to the Island: Rent a Jeep, not a car, and study all the info you can find on the beaches and the locals. It's a great island but I'm glad I studied ahead of our trip.

Room Tip: Unless you're traveling in 4's, don't book the Buena Vista room (see above). The front r...

This is a great place to stay in Esperanza! Looks much nicer than most of the beach hotels on the street. The town is verrrrry small so you can walk to all restaurants and bars in about 4 mins. Very clean, comfortable rooms with a nice view of the beach, but the beach has a very small shore line so you can't really spend much time there. They have a cute little pool to relax in, a small shop to buy clothes, and a friendly hotel dog names Coqui. They also provide you with beach chairs, umbrellas, and coolers to take to the beach. Soooo convenient! Note: If you are in Vieques, you need to rent a car!
