“Wonderful Experience!”
Reviewed 18 October 2012

Acacia Guesthouse is a wonderful place to stay in Vieques. It is conveniently located near all the restaurants, bars, and beaches. The owner was extremely helpful with all of our questions which added a lot of value to our trip. Thank you! We can't wait to return to Vieques and we will definitely stay at Acacia!

Acacia Guesthouse is a great place to stay while visiting Vieques. Clean, and comfortable accommodations with an amazing host, Jose. It is conveniently located to the local bars and restaurants, beaches and the ocean front. Jose provides snorkel gear, coolers and beach chairs for guest use. The mangoes from his tree in the backyard are scrumptious and star gazing from the roof patio is wonderful. We plan on returning and will definitely stay with Jose again!

We spent 2 nights here and had a wonderful stay. Jose, the host, was incredibly friendly and informative. The location was within walking distance to some great beaches and restaurants. Our only complaint is that we weren't able to stay longer. We hope to go back and would definitely stay here again.

My boyfriend and I have been to Vieques twice and stayed at Acacia Guesthouse both times. The host, Jose, is wonderful. On our first trip, he told us about great restaurants, the best time to go to certain beaches, made reccommendations for horseback riding and the biobay tour, and told us about good snorkeling spots. We stayed in the apt. on the third floor both times and it was nicely furnished, comfortable, and clean. The rooftop deck was one of my favorite things about the guesthouse, great views and very relaxing. The location of Acacia is another feature: restaurants are within walking distance and several beaches are only a short drive away. A great spot all around.

This was a beautiful place to stay, and we couldn't recommend it highly enough. The apartment was spotless, and Jose obviously takes great pride in his guesthouse. He was so helpful - helping us order bikes, suggesting places to visit, even giving us painkillers when one of us was sick! It is a really quiet, relaxing place with a lovely roof terrace. Amazing big bed and great loaction too. Go!

My boyfriend and I stayed at Acacia last April, and I am just now getting around to writing how much we enjoyed our stay.

The apartment we stayed in was cute, clean, functional and just what we needed. It was located close to everything.

What really makes this a wonderful place to stay is the host, Jose. We had a couple of unrelated glitches including missing the buses from the ferry and also some sun poisoning for me. Jose could not have been more helpful and kind to us. The island is beautiful, but Jose and staying here was really what made our stay special.

We absolutely hope to be back some day soon and will stay at the Acacia!

We stayed for 3 nights in March at the Acacia. Overall an average place to stay. No reason to complain and no reason to rave. It is more an apartment rental than a guest house. There weren’t the amenities that one would expect from a guest house. We had no housekeeping during our stay; no taking out the trash, sweeping out the room or change of towels/sheets. We paid $120 including taxes per night. We had the apartment on the ground floor, it had a kitchen area and it was very clean. We have no interest in cooking while on vacation but the kitchen seemed functional if you wanted to do so. Acacia is located in a local neighborhood, just a short walk to the Malecon. There were the ubiquitous roosters and dogs making noise early in the morning. The place is utilitarian and served its purpose as a safe and clean place to sleep. Wi-fi was available and worked the few times we used it. Jose was very pleasant and informative. The upper deck has a nice view but lacked niceties like an umbrella to provide shade, comfortable chairs or plants. We did not intend to rent a vehicle but after arriving in Esperanza we realized a car was necessary for us, we would have felt trapped if we had only the limited choices that Esperanza offers.
