I will preface this review with the fact that I love a challenging hike and if you do too then you should take the walk from the port up to The Bottom. In terms of distance it actually is not that far but the gradient is steep and exhausting. Along the way you will pass mountain goats, sheep and beautiful flora and fauna. The Bottom is more of the administrative part of the island so don't go there for shopping or expecting lots of restaurants. About a 40-45 minute walk will take you almost as far as you can go by road and offer outstanding views of the neighbouring islands.
If you're unsure whether this hike is for you, just give it 5 minutes and you will soon know! Take lots of water and shoes with a good grip.
