Standing between the Pitons was a humbling experience. It was absolutely breathtaking. I highly recommend going on the excursion to visit by catamaran, sail, or helicopter!

The boat ride to the Pitons was fun & watching the sunset was worth the excursion. The snorkeling was not that good as this was a 5 hr excursion but we only had 30 minutes to snorkel & water was murky.

We had a terrific view from a hiking trail that overlooked the Petit Piton. It was definitely worth the climb. We also had lunch at Mango Tree (Stonefield Resort). There was a terrific view from there as well.

It's pretty hard to miss the Pitons if you're on the southern end of St. Lucia; that's a good thing because they are really scenic. The dramatic spires set so close to the ocean make for great picture taking from many angles on land or at sea. They aren't extinct volcanoes but are actually remnants of past volcanic activity where the surrounding terrain has eroded (the bay in front of them is actually a large, dormant caldera).
