Of course you have to see these, but go by boat or helicopter. We went by car and it was horrible. We didn't even get a good view after a 2 hour drive from the north.

My wife & I hiked quite a bit getting in shape for a 60 mile Europe hike, and along the way we visited St Lucia. Climbing Gros Piton sounded like a good idea. I'm not totally sorry I did it, but I have to say that it was marginally worthwhile because of the amazing difficulty of the hike. I think that younger people in really good shape, or anyone in exceptional shape, would not complain about the craziness of the vertical trail and the difficulty. But if you're not those categories, I'd say skip it. This is one of those "ego challenges" that make us do things that are super hard so that afterwards we can say "we did it". Yes, the view was very nice, but we went to restaurant on the other side of Soufriere with a much better view. SAFETY NOTE: If it looks like it will rain, don't even think about doing this hike! There are many areas where you have to climb on your hands and knees, and grab roots, branches, ropes or the much-appreciated stick-railings that someone placed along the way.

Looks like a scene from Jurassic Park... The Pitons are magnificent... We were on an Island Windjammer Cruise (more on that in another review), we were anchored just off shore the views were spectacular. We also had opportunity to snorkel just off shore. It was a beautiful day and a once in a life time experience. If you plan to go to Saint Lucia you must plan to see the Pitons.

Standing between the Pitons was a humbling experience. It was absolutely breathtaking. I highly recommend going on the excursion to visit by catamaran, sail, or helicopter!

The boat ride to the Pitons was fun & watching the sunset was worth the excursion. The snorkeling was not that good as this was a 5 hr excursion but we only had 30 minutes to snorkel & water was murky.
