The whole family went in June and I wish we could go back tomorrow! The place was beautiful, the people were fantastic, and the time we spent there will never be forgotten.

If you want a great kick, go to the Upper Deck bar and ask for the Bottle Under the Bar. So smooth going down!

I have been to Windjammer for a number of years over New Year and it is absolutely amazing. The staff are very friendly and attentive. There is a beach bar service including whilst on the beach so you don't even have to move if you don't want to!
I recommend the food eat Embers at lunchtime which has a good selection for all the family including fresh fish.
You can order shuttles to take you to and from your room. You must be patient as they need to run for the whole of the resort. If possible you might want to consider hiring a car which would also be able to be used to go to the local shops and the ample amazing restaurants and bars nearby. There is plenty of parking for the cars down by reception which is right by the beach.

The Windjammer has it all….excellent customer service, great food and drinks, beautiful beach, many water sports…but best of all super amazing hilltop views.

We would like to thank our ambassador, Darrell, for the smiling service he gave to us which included researching the St. Lucia history and delivering it to our room. June, at Poppa Don’s, was very professional and helpful. Altheia and Samantha were charming and attentive waitresses also at Poppa Don’s. Jammer’s was also a wonderful beachside place for lunch and happy hour drinks. These were our favorite restaurants.

Snorkeling and the ½ day Jeep Tour were memorable and fun times. Chris, our tour guide, went above and beyond to make sure we had lots of pictures of everyone on our tour...especially the visit to Emerald Waterfall.

Suggestion: When guests leave in the early morning times (5:30am), we suggest more staff is available. Our shuttle driver became stuck which caused us to walk with our luggage down the steep roads to our taxi. We were told another shuttle had been sent, but we never encountered it on our walk.

However, all of this being said…If you are looking for a relaxing vacation with breathtaking views and courteous staff…this is the place for you! We do hope to return someday.

I travelled here on vacation with my friend and my child on July 6th
I can honestly say if you book this hotel you will not be dissapointed.
The service here is amazing...
When we arrived they staff were warm and welcoming, hot towels on arrival with rum punch and big caribbean smiles...they took us to our room we had a 1 bedroom Hibiscus Suite the bed was huge there was a kitchen will all facilites and a super large bathroom with 2 sinks a bath and a luxury shower..it also had a sofa bed in the lounge and a large balcony with a hot tub!!!!!!
The food is exceptional! I will never forget the ribeye steak that was massive and so tender best steak I have had.
Entertainment in the day is good, evening entertainment is low key but there is some.
The shops are a good price compared to the prices down the south of the island.
A wicked holiday, no shadow of a doubt we will be returning to Windjammer Landing Resort.

Room Tip: Hibiscus suites have a Hot Tub 1 or 2 bedroom Villas some have a private plunge pool well worth ungr...

The welcome on arrival at Windjammer was friendly and efficient and set the scene for a really good holiday.

The common areas of the resort are very attractive and well maintained

Accommodation is built into a hillside so access is up steep slopes – a shuttle service operates 24 hours a day so there is no need to walk the slopes unless you want the exercise. The drivers were friendly. It could be a little difficult for elderly or infirm people to get in and out of the shuttles as they are sometimes parked on a steep slope. You telephone and request the shuttle when wanting to leave your apartment – sometimes it is there within a minute, it is usually there fairly quickly but a few times in the evening we had to wait 10 minutes.

There are 4 restaurants offering a good menu range and decent prices – you can view the menus and prices on the the website. You were advised to book for meals. We prefer to go and eat as and when we feel like it rather than booking specific times.

You are given the option of all inclusive for US $150 + 10% service and 8% government tax per person per day = $177 c £118 but unless you want to eat and drink a lot you are better signing for food and drink and settling your bill at the end of the week. Cocktails were $EC 18-20 so c£5 plus 10% service and 8% local tax and Piton beers were EC 11 plus tax and service.A rough conversion rate as at July 2012 was to work on dividing the US dollar by two thirds ( 66%) so 100US $ = £66 and divide the EC dollar by a quarter so 20EC = £5

There is a good sized beach with plenty of sun beds and shaded areas – though the latter could come under pressure at times of 100% occupancy. There is a swimming area set aside to avoid risk of contact with sea urchins.

A good range of water sport facilities available at no cost [motorised sports also available at a cost] and plenty of arranged activities. Romanus and Vincent were great help with catamaran sailing. There are single and double kayaks. Equipment is provided free – the 11am snorkelling trip is free but the 2pm one costs US $5 as it goes further afield. Romanus was able to show us a sea horse and rare white sea urchin on one of the snorkelling trips.

Nice soft beach towels are provided as and when required and could be taken off site for day trips. They did run out of towels sometimes but that was nor surprising given that some people were greedy and had 5.

We stayed in a one bedroomed villa – a large lounge area with full kitchen separated by a breakfast bar, a spacious balcony off with dining area and sunbeds and a glorious view. The bedroom was a very good size with a large double bed and a walk in storage dressing room. The en suite bathroom was a good size with a shower partially open to the outside. There was access to the balcony from both the lounge and bedroom. The balcony had a dining table for 4 and 2 sun loungers. The villa was well maintained, well equipped and tastefully presented. The kitchen has a large sink, full size gas cooker, large fridge / freezer. electric kettle , toaster, blender , mixer , juicer and micro wave – everything you need if you wished to self cater. There is air conditioning throughout and additional ceiling fans in the lounge , bedroom and above the eternal dining area. Sylvanie Hippolyte was responsible for the day to day housekeeping of our villa the first week and did an excellent job. The second week the housekeeping was not up to her exacting standard. Shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and body lotion were provided. A Mosquito net was provided over the bed.

There was free wired broadband in the apartment and free wireless in the reception area which we really appreciated. They hope to extend wireless broadband to the whole resort in the future.

It is safe to drink the water on site.

All the resort staff were very polite , helpful and cheerful and a credit to Windjammer. We would like to especially commend Helen Richard who was outstanding and “Simply the best”.

John Maycock the General Manager has very reason to be proud of his team - they deliver.

If whist visiting you wish to find out about timeshare and look at what is available then we would suggest that you ask to see Merlinda Alexander who we know will look after you and deliver a first class service. If you attend the talk you are given US $100 towards day trips or meals. Time taken is 90 minutes but if you are an Interval International or RCI member it is reduced to 1 hour. It was interesting to see some of the other apartments. Some have splash pools or a jacuzzi. Some are open style so could have birds flying in and a greater problem re insect bites.

There is a mini mart mart and a gift shop on site as well as a branch of Diamonds International - if you are thinking of buying some jewellery or a watch , do go and see them . The staff are first class and great fun and will certainly look after you – Shaler Auguste , Delia Durano and Simone William make up a great team. Diamonds International offer a free trip to the Duty free shop at Point Seraphine on a Thursday morning.

The Manager’s cocktail party is held on a Tuesday evening.

The mud baths at Soufriere were good but make sure you do not wear any jewellery and take swimwear and towels that you do not mind getting stained. Out towels had orange stains for a couple of days afterwards too. Admission prices are very low if you go there by taxi.

We had been advised that you could book in for the return Virgin flights at Windjammer and they would collect the suitcases from you so you could go to the airport later. We had not been told that it needs a minimum of 10 people for them to operate this service and that there is a charge of $10 US per person. Taxis to and from the airport cost US $85 and take up to 4 people – time taken is up to 1.5 hours.

If you wish to buy much in the way of supermarket goods then it is best to go to Rodney Bay. It is c 1.5 miles walk to the main road where you can pick up local mini buses which work as local taxis but the road has no street lighting. Taxis from Windjammer to to Rodney Bay were 14$ Us and $25US to Castries.

We have not rated the Spa or Brakkfast as we did not use these .

We were going to go on the Martinique trip ($150 US pp) but were advised that it had been shortened and now was no longer good value and you had only a short time in one area. Apparently there are ferries available from Castries but they go quite early in the morning.
The Grenadines daytrip was unavailable whilst we were there as the plane had gone away for maintenance.

overall we had a great holiday but would not want to be there at peak season. We have been told they are going to build another 30 apartments and as the beach will not be extended this could mean it could be very crowded at peak seasons.

Room Tip: Some villas have fully encliosed rooms , whist othesr have lattice shutters. Your choice may depend...

My husband and I went to the Windjammer for our 10 year anniversary. When we got there we were greeted by friendly staff and was offered one of their signature frozen drinks that was delicious (I ended up ordering it at least once a day while I was there it was so good)! After they dropped us off at our room we we were on our own and had resort to do with as we pleased! The whole time that we were there we never ran out of things to do and it was beyond relaxing! If we ever had a question the staff was extremely helpful. The resort had plenty of restaurants to choose from and lots of fun water sports which we took full advantage of. We stayed in a Hibiscus suite and it looked out onto the ocean which I loved to wake up and go to sleep looking at, it was a great perk! I do have a few suggestions for those traveling, #1- If you do not drink like my husband and I do not get the all inclusive, we saved a lot of money by paying outright for our food and non-alcoholic drinks. #2- Bring lots of sunscreen and put it on two or three times a day! I put on sunscreen once everyday (maybe twice somedays) and got blisters which really put a damper on my trip because of how much pain I was in!! Overall the whole place was excellent and would recommend it to anyone, their beach was gorgeous too, it was very memorable and i can't wait to go again!
