“Incredible Place/Wonderful Wedding”
Reviewed 5 June 2014

We visited the Windjammer in March 2014 and loved it so much that we bought a timeshare! The place is absolutely beautiful and all of the staff members we have met at the resort are such sincere, special people!!! In early May we started discussing dates for getting married and decided Windjammer would be the place! Being the spontaneous type, we decided we wanted to get married at the end of May. We contacted Melanie, the wedding planner at Windjammer, and she immediately helped us get the wedding planned in 2 1/2 weeks with out any stress at all! She was extremely organized and made it seem effortless! During our stay at Windjammer, Melanie continually checked in on us to make sure everything was perfect and that we had everything we needed. We made some last minute changes with adding wedding guests and food and she handled it immediately without any stress at all. We can't thank Melanie enough for making our wedding so very special and beautiful!!

Just getting back from getting married at Windjammer Landing in St. Lucia on 5/27/14, what else can we say other than it was perfect. What an absolutely gorgeous property filled with a warm and welcoming staff that certainly took care of your every need. Mel, our wedding planner was fantastic and made our wedding day go off without a hitch and allowed us to truly enjoy everything. I recommend letting Mel or Lynn plan your wedding, you won't be disappointed. Every need was met; Ann and staff at the Spa took great care of all the ladies and Peter of photographer gave us memories that will last a lifetime. Our one bedroom villa provided us with great views of the bay each morning and stunning sunsets each evening. There were plenty of activities to keep our families occupied and relaxed. We highly recommend Windjammer Landing and can't wait to go back again.

Let's start with the beachfront -- It is very gray and placid unlike the turquoise blue we are accustomed seeing in other parts of St. Lucia. The grounds are maintained well but it still remained unappealing.

Our (OCEAN VIEW) room is VERY small and dark (and musky) and was very noisy (coming from the people/room above us) -- we have a little child so we didn't like that at all. We didn't complain since we only stayed there for a night (thank God) as we just want to tour the North. The reservation process showed a four-poster bed but the room that we got has very low-ceiling and didn't have that. Also, the bed seems to have bedbugs as one of the children in our party came home with bug bites in the arms and legs.

We didn't pick the all-inclusive because at the time of booking I thought it was steep. Well, talk about steep. The prices of food on 2 of the 3 restaurants are very steep. A plate of 2 eggs and a sausage for almost $30.00? Steak for about $50 and it wasn't even up to par with high-quality steaks? Yeah, we weren't happy paying for the food.

Won't go back to this resort.

Room Tip: If you are booking an OCEAN VIEW room, ask for real photos first (notice that their website doesn...

Thank you for taking time to write a review. We appreciate the feedback. I do want to clarify that the price of 2 eggs and sausage is ECD30.00 or about US$11.00 and the grilled striploin steak at the Upper Deck is about US$42.00. We have checked for insect infestation and have not found any sign of a problem.

Arrived at the Windjammer Landing around 7:30 pm after landing at Vigie Airport which is only 20 minutes away...Esse our personal concierge set us up in a Hibiscus king suite with private pool and island rum punch drinks (with a kick!). She is a delight and has a wonderful demeanor
--- we were very pleased with the accommodations and fantastic ocean view. Tasha had arranged for us to go to Jammers for dinner and our only complaint that Sat evening is that it took "way too long" for dinner to be served to us. The staff seemed to be short that evening and not very happy to boot. Once we received our order, it was good.

Diving at the resort is okay---no Nitrox and no dive shop with gear for sale, but a good boat and nice crew. Pay cash for best discount for multi day diving--Judy, Joel, and Theo were terrific as
our group dive leaders--Eastern Caribbean Divers.

Dining at the resort---recommend Upper Deck (Anthony our server was spot on and very efficient)--food was superb! Dragonfly for breakfast (thank you, Mary!), Papa Don's for dinner was fab Italian cuisine and good seafood--great table service!; Enders on the Dock was good for dinner one beautiful moonlit night with Caribbean kabobs and various salads and desserts. Food overall was outstanding and the steaks and caribbean short ribs are great! Escargot every night and wonderful shashimi and Caribbean/creole salads.

Special tip of the hat to Mark Ozawa, genl mgr, who really made our final evening dinner at Papa Don's so special with a rib dinner, flowers, and wine at our table...he is a good listener when it comes to "situations" that sometimes arise. And the concierge staff at the resort are
really efficient and thanks to Darrell for helping us obtain boarding passes and to Tasha for
answering all of my questions in a timely manner. Thank you, Gloria, for your maid service
every day and thank you Ernest for being so good to me when obtaining ice or drinks at the Jammers Bar. And Anthony, you ARE the best waiter at the Upper Deck!!

The shuttle service was quite efficient while we were there. I appreciate the fact that we were in
301B which was just a short walk to the beach and restaurants anyway and that the resort honored my request due to my hip situation...a beautiful resort, well maintained grounds and pools and beach areas, friendly staff; thank you, Mark, and WL! You will be highly recommended in the future---Sandals does not hold a candle to you!

Just came back from St Lucia and the Windjammer.
First off, I'd like to say that, in reading some of the other reviews, there are just some people who will not be happy with no matter what accommodation they get from 2 star to 5 star.

There's reviews complaining about frogs and lizards! Yes, there are both creatures, you're in a different country where these things exit. I actually found the frogs amusing and if one ended up inthe room (which it didn't), deal with it and don't make it a negative on the resort. So your fixtures are a little faded and outdated, unless there are exposed wires or leaking pipes or something...suck it up!! Its a vanity thing that I am sure the resort will address at some point. You are there to experience and enjoy beautiful surroundings and a different culture.

Our party came in for a week-long fun fest to compliment a wedding. We were not disappointed whatsoever. The Windjammer excels in organization and professionalism. Every need was met and every staff member was awesome.

Taking the time to talk to the staff is a treat in itself as they are happy to give you insight into their lives and island life in general. It's a nice touch and shows the integrity of the St Lucian people. This is also the experience outside the resort with the locals.

Our villa was spacious with terracotta tiling that was a welcome coolness for the feet after a day out and about. Air con worked quickly as we had always turned it off when we went out.
Morning coffees and late evening cigars were had on our villas roof deck that was walled in just enough to offer privacy but not enough to obstruct the beautiful view.
The bed was the 4-poster that was nice and comfy.
Bathroom?....nothing to complain about at all. Quirky and cute bowl-sink and a rain shower.
The staff came every day and made sure our place was spotless and always had a genuine smile and a "how are you/how is your stay so far" for us. For the amount of villas in Windjammer they are hard workers indeed. Hats off in that regard.

The main parts of the resort are what we wanted and expected...plus some.
A cool face towel with a cocktail on arrival your first day was much appreciated. As was the welcoming guest services staff making sure to talk to everyone individually by giving a brief run-down of the resorts services, amenities and activities.
the front desk staff and the excursion desk staff did everything as quickly and efficiently as they could to accommodate, organize and arrange. They know the resort, the Island and the practices of St Lucia and are a wealth of knowledge if you're stuck or confused about something.

The food....Well, I have to say that a A LOT of my time was spent at the Upper Deck. The Filet Mignon is that tender, fall apart steak that is just too good to stay away from. The rest of the Menu is equally as good (have the escargot if you like that stuff...yum!).
Breakfast was a buffet at the Dragonfly with a nice choice of foods and a chef cooking up omelets to your liking.
Lunch at Embers or the Jammer meant wings, sandwiches, nachos, burgers....you name it.
Further up the hill sits Papa Dons which does a more than adequate job with their tasty Italian dishes. That place is a MUST TRY for anyone that has not been before.

The wedding was just beautiful and the weather had co-operated very nicely. There have been many reviews mentioning Mel and all of them are so so true. This gorgeous lady will organize, accommodate, fix, change, alter...anything you need to make your wedding a success. And she will be there from start to finish just in case you need anything. The Windjammer will have a very tough time finding a replacement should she ever leave (Mel please don't ever leave!!!)
Banquet at Embers was a treat and very intimate with the family and guests that came. Our chef deserved a very big "well done" as did our barman and waiters...who were happy to come dance with us and have a great time.

The soft sandy beach and the beach activities can keep you busy every day all day should you just want to chill out the whole time. Waiters and security abound but are not intrusive. Go see Nick the Rasta at his jewelery hut...super friendly and a cool dude indeed!

I would suggest to anyone going to pick at least 2 excursions to go on. We chose a cruise and a hike up the Pitons. Both a great time and a nice eye-opener to St Lucian culture.

All in all this is one of the best places we have ever been to. It's not just the resort itself, it the atmosphere that the staff and fellow guests create. Friendly, fun, and relaxed. Exactly what you want to unwind and enjoy :)

Have fun to all that are going and enjoy !!! We certainly did!

Room Tip: Go for the 141's to 145's (ocean views). It's a good but not long walk to the main resor...

We have just returned from getting married at Windjammers (31 May). If you are thinking of getting married here, well, what are you waiting for - book it today!

We travelled with small children and grandparents and we all had an absolutely fantastic experience. The warmth and friendliness of all the staff was amazing. Really amazing. The other guests we spoke to were all friendly and having fun - we think Windjammers has this effect on people! All staff were great but we think special mention should be made of three members of staff:

1, Marcus. Our regular waiter Marcus in Jammers who couldn't do enough for us and was always smiling;
2, Sharon. Sharon from the Children's Club was a delight to chat with, great with the children and couldn't have been more friendly and welcoming (good luck for your wedding later in the year, Sharon :). In fact, all the staff at the children's club were incredibly good with our children - they loved it and want to go back!
3, Mel. Our wedding planner Mel effortlessly sorted out all the details and took all the hassle out of organising what was an incredibly special day for us - perfect - thank you, Mel!

Our three bedroom villa was amazing and we spent some wonderful early evenings watching the sunset over the beautiful ocean. Ignore reviews here saying they need to be updated, they have amazing rustic charm and we loved it!

We sailed a lot and the watersports guys were great too, really relaxed and helpful.

We can't recommend this resort enough. Enjoy!!!

Room Tip: All rooms have great views. We were in villa 10 which was lovely as it meant that we only had a 5 m...

A lovely resort where the staff can not do enough for its guests. You arrive out of your cab to a "don't touch your suitcase....you are on vacation now", and it was like that for the entire stay. Excellent restaurants on site, waterfront activities include waterskiing, sailing, kayaking, SUP, swimming, good snorkelling on site, or on a provided tour. A very clean landscape, with staff always visible doing maintenance. The villa was spectacular. Privacy, beautiful views, wonderful housekeeper, private pool, shuttle service as required. Wonderful experience!!
