I did a lot of video documentary around the island, and Central Library was one of my points of interest. Located right across the street from the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and Derek Walcott Square (formerly Columbus Square), I found that the dated look and feel of the library was apart of its historic essence. Of course, you will find books, books, and more books in any library, and that goes for this one as well. I had a chance to speak briefly with a friendly and cordial staff from the Ministry of Education who worked at the Central Library while I was there. What I noticed was that this library functioned much like any library and was fairly occupied with those reading and /or utilizing the computers. Just a short walk from Castries Market. A place to visit if you're in Castries and interested in seeing locals in and around the downtown area. Loved It.
