“Amazing honeymoon!”
Reviewed 10 August 2012

We have just returned from Rendezvous St. Lucia having spent a week on honeymoon there. We stayed in a beachfront suite on the 3rd floor and it was fantastic - spacious, bright, private and kept well clean. We were actually upgraded from a beachfront room, upgrades seem to be common here! From the moment we checked in the staff were attentive, very courteous and sympathetic to our needs, and we really appreciated the welcome drink after our transfer from the airport - we chose to go on the bus and it took around 1.5 hours (although slightly quicker on the way back at the end of the break). Many reviewers have already commented on the transfer - I felt it was long but not too bad - I sat in the back where the bus was most bumpy and didn't feel sick or too hot.

The location is also lovely - a nice clean beach which is well serviced by the staff and nice to see the locals wandering by and going about their business, we felt that although the beach is not exclusive to the hotel it is still nice and quiet. There was a good selection of loungers and chairs available at both beach and pool as we were there off season we never had a problem getting our favourite spots! I honestly did not notice the graveyard nearby and the felt that the noise from the nearby airport was not intrusive - only a few flights a day and none early morning or late at night.

The pool facilities are also very good - we preferred the pool in the water garden as it was quieter and a little bit warmer! But the seaside pool and swim up bar is also very nice. And the lazy river is also lovely! I booked myself a facial at the spa and it was very well done.

We felt that the level of entertainment on offer was just right - during the day we took an archery lesson, got involved in some of the wide selection of watersports available and learned some mixology which was fun. The evening entertainment is quite low key - no loud music and late night parties, but I think thats in keeping with the mood of the hotel. We enjoyed the champagne happy hour in the champagne bar, the beach bbq evening and the caribbean evening.

The food was always delicious and there was a big selection on offer. The main restaurant is buffet style for breakfast, lunch and dinner and there is also the option to book in to the more exclusive Trysting Place - which is also excellent. We also opted to go for the Private Dining on our last night - and we had our table set up for us by the beach. This was by far the best food of the holiday.

We were obviously visiting during the rainy season and the room was well equipped with a large umbrella and there are plenty of board games and books available at the hotel library to keep you busy if it gets too wet! It rained a little every morning before clearing up beautifully in the afternoons. We only had one day of heavy rain but the temperature stays nice and warm so it didn't bother us too much - if you don't want rain don't visit the caribbean over the summer!

There are a wide range of excursions available but we didn't choose to go on any as we enjoyed the resort so much! We did take a walk into nearby Castries for the market on Saturday mornings - it was a pleasant trip and as Castries is quite small you can take in all the sights in a morning and be back at the resort for lunch!

Overall, we had a fantastic time here and couldn't recommend it enough - the people, facilities, food and entertainment impressed us both and we couldn't have asked for a better honeymoon. We'd like to say a huge thank you to all at Rendezvous for making the start to our married life excellent! Special mention to Michael at reception, Frances and Marcia at the restaurant and Neema and Deano from the entertainment staff.

Room Tip: the beachfront suites are utterly amazing, and seem to be a little more modern than the pool or gard...

Truly a romantic and relaxing break. Plenty of hooneymooners and weddings whiclst we were there. You could have romantic meals on the beach and there were many which looked outsanding. The staff and the service is remarkable. We enjoyed 10 days at the resort and did not leave it for a day! My husband enjoyed the sporting facilities and beach games. He played tennis, we both had a lesson in archery, he enjoyed the tournament and we nth played volleyball, oh and he played a game of cricket! Their lazy river was a success and the pools were great. The first week of the summer holidays was pretty empty at the resort which we enjoyed. the food was amazing bth in the restaurant and the buffet. We had a beach cottage and this was comfortable and large enough with a verandah which we used in the morning. We went swimming in the sea most mornings and this was the benefit of this accommodation. Plus if it was busy I could see how the beds in front of our cottage would be useful. The beach was clean and groomed each day as were the fantastic gardens. Cocktails were great with some 80% rum, ouch, not for me! Some a little sweet which seems to be a St Lucian given with each dessert being the sweetest thing ever, and I usually love pudding! Entertainment was always entertainiong and we enjoyed the air con int he chamagne bar and the champagne on entering early evening. All in all a great all inclusive resort, we did not spend a penny although there was plenty to send money on if you do desired.

Room Tip: Beach cottages worth the extra? Not sure. Roomy. Others said the beach front rooms, three storey...

We spent 7 nights here and had an amazing time. The staff were friendly and helpful and we enjoyed taking part in the activities that were organised. The food was outstanding with lots of variety and cooked to a high standard. A great range of alcohol and cocktails were available which we really enjoyed trying them all but beware some of them are lethal. We also got married here and was made to feel very special by the staff and champagne and flowers were put in our room as well as honeymoon gifts from the hotel. We stayed in the seaside suite which was a little bit scruffy in places and had some damp in but was still a nice room on the whole. My only niggle about here was housekeeping never replenished the toiletries so we always had to phone and ask for some and it took them 4 days to give us an umbrella for the room. Being close to graveyard and airport wasn't bothersome for us the location seemed fine. We took the helicopter transfer over which I feel was definitely worth the money and was a great experience. Also recommend visiting pigeon island and the pitons.

I will keep this short but sweet. Just got back from our second trip to Rendezvous. Perfect. Everyone, everything. Me and my beautiful wife decided on having our wedding there. Our beachfront wedding was a dream come true. Everyone so sweet and helpful...I cant use the word perfect enough. Met some new lifelong friends while there too. We WILL be back for a third, forth and fifth plus time. Thanks to every one on the staff, especially Sandra with our wedding and mini-me with the drinks! See you all soon again!

Myself and my husband spent 7 nights at Rendezvous from 13th to 20th July 2012. On arrival at Rendezvous we were a bit disappointed to be honest. Our room was a Garden View room and was basic and in need of updating - especially the air conditioning. We've been to other adults only all-inclusive resorts suchs as Excellence, Sandals, Secrets and Paradisus and the rooms in these resorts were all of a different level.
Having said that I can honestly say that the rest of our holiday was excellent.

Reception: we had cause to visit reception on a couple of occassions and each time anything we enquired about or asked for was accommmodated with no hassle.
Location: The resort is just at the edge of Castries town and is beside a regional airport. There is noise (sirens) from the city and also from the planes but it is nothing too serious. I didn't hear any planes before about 6.30am.
Pool/Beach: The pools are very clean, the loungers are comfortable and the pool bar service is excellent. We spent most of out time however on the beach (there are two sides - one near the pool bar and one more secluded). At the beach you will get a red flag which you raise when you want a drink and the service is excellent - especially from Imram. The locals have access to the beach which was granted to them by the Queen and you will sometimes be approached. However the locals in St. Lucia are very pleasant and actually worth talking to and will not hassle you into buying stuff. Sometimes they get agitated with the security guards who try and move them along, but in fairness it is their beach! No hassle getting loungers by the pool or at the beach at any stage, or any hassle getting beach towels.
Food: The buffet restaurant has a varied theme every day. I'm vegetarian and not a fan of buffets but can honestly say that I had no issues with veggie options and choice at the buffet. The themes range from Eastern, Italian, Carribbean, Roast Dinner and of course beach BBQ. Wine is served by the carafe at lunch time and by the bottle at dinner. Twice whilst we were there the buffet was closed and this restaurant was a la carte and the food was also very good. The only drawback is that its outside seating so be prepared to be warm and have your bug spray on. The Trysting Place is also an excellent restaurant - the food is really very good. The only trouble is getting a booking. We arrived on Friday and the next available booking was Wednesday - it might be worth emailing and booking in advance if possible.
Staff: By far the best thing about this resort is the staff - they are all so cheerful and so helpful, they will really make your holiday special. Nothing is too much trouble for them and you really get treated like royalty.
Entertainment: The entertainment is quite tame - you won't find any pumping reggae music here! Nightimes are usually bands and they normally play romantic ballads for the honeymooners etc. in keeping with the "couples" theme of the resort. However one or two nights it almost sent me to sleep. However this depends on what you're looking for - I personally prefer a bit of music around the resort but this doesn't happen in Rendezvous. Like some of the other reviewers I found the enertainment team a bit self-absorbed and a bit loud but to each their own!
Other: We didn't try the spa as I always find massages on holidays a disappointment - this is more testament to my beauty therapist than anything against the resorts - you will always get a better massage from someone who knows you ;-)
There is free wifi available at the resort but the signal strength varies so you may need to find a spot if you want constant connection.
Rendezvous also try to be as eco-friendly as possible and as a result there is no bottled water at the resort. If you want to have a bottle of water with you bring one and fill it at the "water station" - there's one at the pool and one on the beach. Water in the rooms is in a jug - note that there is no fridge or mini-bar in the rooms.

As I say overall our holiday was very good and very relaxing and I would recommend Rendezvous as long as you are aware that this is a boutique hotel and will not be anything like Sandals or other larger chains.

Room Tip: Garden Rooms are basic at the moment but some of them are in the process of being updated. The Beach...

We've had the pleasure of staying at the Rendezvous twice. It only gets better. The focus is on couples which is why it's perfect for honeymooners and couples just wanting to reconnect.

The staff is terrific but they're reluctant to accept gratuities "we get paid enough". That's the first time we've ever heard that anywhere!

You can be as busy or as lazy as you want and completely enjoy your visit.I wouldn't can it inexpensive but it IS a good value.

We have just come back from our 11 day Honeymoon at the Rendezvous and it was so fabulous I have been compelled to write a review! Firstly, because they knew it was our honeymoon we got a double room upgrade to a Verandah Suite - it was just beautiful - with amazing views of the ocean and gardens.

We have been to a number of all inclusive resorts around the world and this was BY FAR the best either of us have ever been to.

This was our first experience of a "couples only" resort and we were overwhelmed by the difference it makes to the relaxation and general feel of the holiday.
The hotel offered absolutly everything you could wish for from an all inclusive beach holiday - beautiful sea, well kept gardens, wonderful pools, choice of watersports, fun entertainment, tennis courts, a well equiped gym, fab excursions, amazing food, wonderful cocktails and wines and not to mention SUPERB staff!!

We were completly overwhelmed at how quiet the resort was - even when it was full it was always quiet and peaceful. Whatever time of day you decided to venture to the pool, beach, or water gardens there were always many (wonderfully comfortable) sunbeds to choose from.

The food was the best we have ever eaten on holiday and the attention to detail was amazing. The choice and variety every day was quite something and the views you get from pretty much any table you sit at are so memorable. Twice during our stay they changed the planned evening cuisine to an al a carte evening - these were the most fantastic meals we ate! They were out of this world.

The service of the bar staff at each bar was, again, amazing - nothing is ever too much and they are so attentive to replenishing drinks and water. You even got bought cold towels to your sunbed toward the end of the day - to cool down a bit in the afternoon sun!

The clenliness of the resort is fantastic and there is always a gardener or worker making sure its tip top. The rooms are cleaned and changed daily. Its true what the other reviews say about the hot water not working on a couple of days but the hotel staff were so understanding and did everything they could to try and make it bearable - and to be honest it was hot enough during the day that a cool shower wasn't actually all that bad.

Like the previous review we would 100% recommend paying the extra and going on the helicopter ride back to the airport - it was out of this world (& def beats the 1.5hour minibus ride!)!!

If you want a fun, hot, beautiful, amazingly relaxing holiday full of nice company, lots of gorgeous food and drink this is definatly the place to go - it is the only place we have said we would 100% go back to!
