My husband and I stayed at the Rendezvous June 18th - 25th and had a very pleasant stay we had an Oceanfront Room, which had views to the beach. The food in the Terrace was of high quality and varied, we also dined three nights in the Trysting, which was spectacular. We found the staff to be very helpful the lady at reception allowed me to use her own computer to check in online for my return flight thus saving me from paying for the internet.
We met some really nice people and took advantage of the exchange with Le Sport for the day with another couple - Richard & Lesley where we had lunch, this was also an excellent hotel and the food was to a very high standard but this hotel is more expensive than Rendezvous. I would not hesitate to go back to the Rendezvous and would recommend it to friends, it was excellent value.

My boyfriend and I (both age 40) stayed at the Rendezvous from April 3 - 8, 2009 for a romantic getaway. We were upgraded to a beach cottage that was actually on the beach and it was spectacular. The room was spacious, clean and very romantic. We had a front porch with table and chairs and 2 lounge chairs.

The beach was beautiful and the water sports were included. We sailed (my boyfriend taught me how) and did both individual kayaking and double kayaking. There was an island off the coast (Ratt Island) and we went sailed and kayaked over there. On one visit some locals had swam from St. Lucia and have us fresh coconut they found on the island as well as fresh almonds.

In the evenings at the Rendezvous, there was entertainment. Our favorite night was the salsa lessons and we had a blast learning to salsa dance (it was so hot though that I was dripping with persperation and I usually never break a sweat even if I run several miles!)

We loved everything about St. Lucia. One highlight was the catamaran trip we took down to Souffires to see the Pitons. It was a beautiful day of sightseeing down the western coast of St. Lucia, and then going inland to see a rainforest, being in a magnificient waterfall, going to the drive-in volcano and eating at a cocoa plantation. We enjoyed the trip back even more as the rum punch kicked in and we gave an exhibition "salsa dance" for the catamaran folks. What a wonderful time!

The only downside was that we didn't have time to stay longer. Most people stayed 10 days - 14 days but they were mainly European so their "holidays" are usually more liberal that those of Americans.

Myself and my wife spent a week in the Rendezvous resort as part of our honeymoon. We chose the resort based on the reviews we'd seen on this site which we felt were generally positive. We were not disappointed.

The resort is set in spacious and immaculately tended grounds and features three bars, two restaurants, two pools, a gym, tennis courts and fronts onto a beach and a crystal clear sea. The resort is located beside a graveyard and an airport. Neither of these factors diminished our enjoyment of our stay and really weren't an issue for us.

The food was of a uniformly high standard throughout our visit. The choice and quality of the buffet meals is excellent and enough variety is provided to ensure you don't feel like you're eating the same food day in day out. Each night of the week features a different theme including Spanish/Mexican, Italian, Asian etc and the food varies accordingly. We ate twice in the a la carte restaurant, the Trysting Place which was also excellent and offers a very different dining experience.

The staff are accommodating and enthusiastic and service was never less than excellent. I felt the staff could be a bit in your face at times to partake in the (huge range) of organised activities the resort offers. Some people just want to relax and let others take to the water skis etc.

We stayed in a verandah suite and loved it. The bed was large, the room spacious and the bathroom was fine. The room was made up to a high standard every day by unobtrusive staff.

The service at the bars is prompt and you're never really waiting more than a couple of minutes for your drinks. The range of drinks/cocktails available is as wide as your imagination really!

Without wanting to sound like a scrooge, we felt that the resort's no kids policy really added to the sense of peace and relaxation. It was ideal as a destination for couples of all sorts, but particularly honeymooners and those celebrating wedding anniversaries. It is most definitely not the place to go as a single or with a group of friends - you would feel really out of it with all the loved up people walking hand in hand along the beach!

Any downsides? I'm struggling a bit, but I'm guessing that the resort's theme nights and various cuisines may start to feel a bit tired if you were staying a second week and experiencing the same things again. I got the impression that the entertainment shows (some of which are performed by the staff) run on a continuous weekly basis. And while the staff are enthusiastic, they're not professional dancers or singers so I'd say once is enough to see their shows.

Another slight gripe we had was with the St Lucian capital Castries itself. We walked into the town one day and felt very uncomfortable. We were hassled by several people looking for money and looking to sell us things and we felt a bit isolated there. Of course, that's nothing to do with Rendezvous just more a general tip.

The only other bugbear we (or I should say my wife!) had was that it would be a great extra touch to have ice creams available from a freezer to cool down. She missed an occasional chocolate Magnum!

I've never given 5 stars to a hotel on this site before and by nature I tend to look for reasons to fault hotels and restaurants, but I really can't find much wrong with Rendezvous. I'm sure there are more expensive hotels in St Lucia that do not offer the quality of food or relaxed, romantic atmosphere or Rendezvous. For some reason the experts haven't awarded it an official five star rating. For my money, they're wrong. 5/5.

We came home last week after an 11 night stay at Rendezvous. Our first impressions of the hotel were quite disappointing. The hotel itself has a tired and slightly scruffy appearance in many areas. The fixtures and fittings in the main public areas are old and worn and just not at all what we were expecting. Our garden room had a number of problems and the result was that after 1 night we decided that we would like to move to a different hotel - something a little more like the 4 star resort we had envisaged.

We met with the Duty Manager Joseph Moon, who was understanding, helpful and keen that we should give Rendezvous another chance. We were offered a Verandah Suite and a bottle of bubbly and so decided not to move.

Having been back home for a few days and had chance to reflect, we are glad that we stayed on at Rendezvous. The standard of food was quite simply 5 star all the way, both in the Terrace buffet and the Trysting Place. The choice was always superbly varied and if you didn't fancy what was on offer, the kitchen would try to make you something that you preferred. There was always a great selection of activities available, branded as well as local drinks were always available and the standard of the Verandah Suite was very good with excellent daily housekeeping, new towels whenever needed etc.

By far the best thing about Rendezvous however is the people who work there. Every single member of staff that we encountered went out of his or her way to ensure we were looked after properly. Everyone always had a smile and you really got the feeling that everyone enjoyed working there.

If you are looking for an all-inclusive resort holiday and are willing to get involved with the whole activities / socialising experience, don't think twice about booking Rendezvous - you will have a great time. Look past the slightly faded appearance of the place, forget about the airport / graveyard issues which will not affect you in the slightest, enjoy the excellent food and get to know some genuinely super staff.

Would we go back to Rendezvous? No, but only because this was the first time we had tried this type of holiday and we've decided that it's not really 'us'. We were swayed by the fact that it is a 'couples only' resort and imagined something a little more romantic than what we got. The people who got the most out of their holiday were the ones who mixed, shared tables for dinner etc. Next year we will go back to renting a house but it really is each to their own.

Just returned from 10 nights stay at Rendezvous Resort and can honestly say do not be put off going to this resort by the previously written negative reviews. Although the resort is not 5 star (would say a good 3 star rating) it has everything that you could want in a Carribean resort. The gardens are very pretty and well tended. The two pools were more than adequate and at no time did we have any problems getting a sun bed, even after being out for most of the day. The beach is good, although the sea is a little cloudy for snorkelling. We stayed in a Garden Room, which is decorated in Carribean colours with dark wood furniture. The bed was very comfortable and the room was really clean. Housekeeping came in every day to clean the room, make the bed and provided fresh towels as required. On arrival the CD Player was not working, but we contacted the Reception desk and this was replaced with a brand new CD Player within the hour. Pretty impressive I would say.

For an all inclusive hotel the food was extremely good and I would rate this at a 5 star hotel level. The variety ensured there was always something that everyone would like and if not then you only had to ask and a meal was prepared especially for you. The drinks were free flowing and you could ask for double/tripple measures if you wanted to. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble for the staff at this hotel. They wanted to ensure that you enjoyed yourself and took the time talk to you about what you had been up to during the day.

The activities, sports and watersports programmes offered by the hotel were very good, but it was nice not to feel pushed into doing anything that you did not want to. The instructors were very patient with us when we took a Hobiecat lesson for the first time.

The planes did not bother us (approx 10 per day) nor did the graveyard at the end of the hotel. The locals were all friendly and it was fun to watch them playing cricket or football on the beach. The youngest children were splashing about in the sea and it made me realise that at times the simple things in life are the best.

The hotel is in a good location for an easy 20 minute stroll into Castries. The local people enjoyed pointing out to us the areas that we should take time to see and even directed us to the Duty Free Shopping Centre. Although we were approached by several street traders, at no time did we feel threatened in any way. A polite no thank you was all that was needed and they left you alone, unlike in some other countries when they will continue to hassle you.

All in all I would say if you are looking for excellent value for money all inclusive holiday for couples only, then you should look no further than this hotel.

We spent five nights at Rendezvous at the beginning of June and absolutely loved it. Unlike the mega-sized all-inclusives on St. Lucia, Rendezvous is only 100 rooms and that makes it a very quiet and comfortable resort.

We stay in one of the oceanfront rooms and loved it. The room was classic style but with a huge bathroom and a wonderful balcony overlooking the beach. No complaints at all with the room.

While there are only two restaurants, the menus vary from day to day so that you are never bored. Our waitress, Kandice, made sure that we sat in her section every day for breakfast and would always make sure that we would get two diet cokes after we sat down. (We only asked her for them the very first day and she remembered it every day after!)

There are plenty of activities going on all day and evening to choose from, but there isn't any pressure from the staff to participate if you don't want to.

The resort is small enough that you will quickly start to recognize familiar faces amongst the other guests which makes it very easy to start of conversations if you like. We really enjoyed meeting the variety of people staying there.

My wife and I have traveled extensively throughout the caribbean and we quickly realized that most of negative comments about this hotel MUST be from inexperienced travelers.

We especially laughed about the negative comments about the small airport being nearby and certainly hope those reviewers never decide to go to St. Barts, where the airport literally ends on St. Jean beach near the Eden Rock hotel (which is considered one of the finest hotels in the caribbean) LOL

Because there are so many islands to see and hotels to stay at in the caribbean, we make it a point to never stay at the some hotel twice BUT, for the first time ever, we would definitely consider a return visit to Rendezvous.
