“Didn't need a vacation from our vacation”
Reviewed 14 December 2013

We have done a lot of all-inclusives and cruises and were dreading the hustle and bustle of these types of vacations. We were yearning for a relaxing vacation, no preset plans, no competition for restaurants, take everyday as it comes. This was it. The kitchens are truly fully stocked. We mostly had breakfast and lunch at home and had dinner out. restaurants in St. Lucia are better than we expected. Colin the manager will give you a 1h talk about what to do on the Island. This was very helpful. Don't miss a snack or lunch at Ladera near the Pitons. The staff were super friendly. The driving in St. Lucia was fine. You can walk to the Sandals on the beach to go to dinner there if you wish. You need a car for this place.

Room Tip: Rooms on the south side are newer.

We were there 10 days for our 25th Anniversary. The Staff is phenomenal!!! EVERYONE goes above and beyond to make you feel so welcome and truly like a part of their family. You are given a short history of the Villa and Plantation, and how it evolved into the wonderful vacation spot it has become. Colin is wonderful at mapping all the sites to visit, tours to enjoy and then lets you make your choices. All you have to do is mention what you would like to do or see, and they make it happen for you! The Island is beautiful, however it is the people who truly make it "a pearl in the oyster" of the Caribbean ..... I would go back in a heartbeat and planning a return in the future!
A must to eat at is The Wharf next door!! Liza and Kirnal are the bomb.com!!

We went to St. Lucia for a week and stayed at the Villa Beach Cottages. We had a one bedroom apartment on the ground floor and it was perfect! The apartment was large and had everything we needed if we wanted to cook and eat in. It was also really well furnished and very clean. The staff were really lovely too. There was a taxi driver who took us on a few tours of the island called Claudius who was fantastic and told us all of the places we should go to.
The location is great as it sits on the beach but it's a bit further away from restaurants and bars. There is a restaurant next door that does food and drink though. You'l need to get a taxi to most places but the hotel has drivers and so it's easy to order a car. All in all, we loved it and would definitely recommend staying here.

Room Tip: we got a ground floor room and it was great

Stayed on business in November. I cant fault this location, right on the beach, excellent accommodation, immaculate service. Right next door is a good place to eat that although looking a bit run down offers great food and good company.
Many so called 5 star hotels fall down on room servicing but villa beach gave no cause for complaint. There is no restaurant or bar but there is a small shop and you are not far away from a good supermarket.
The staff were all very friendly and keen to help and if you need a taxi ask for Claudius who will make sure you enjoy your stay.
Finally if you have the pleasure of meeting the manager he will give a fascinating account of the history of the property and other developments on the island.

A pleasure to stay at this resort.

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms give immediate access to the beach.

We returned a week ago from Villa Beach Cottages. I cannot say enough about VBC--it was absolutely the perfect place to stay! I was so pleased to have found it.

We spent a week in a one bedroom upper unit. The space was wonderful and had everything one could want. A fully equipped kitchen, a very nice bath with a wonderful walk in shower, plenty of closet/cupboard space and an air conditioned bedroom with a king sized bed! Oh yes, a great porch (on the uppers, patio on lowers) which had a nice size table, two chairs and two loungers. They thought of everything. The view from the balcony was overlooking the pool and hot tub, and just beyond was the sea. Just sitting on that porch was a wonderful and tranquil experience.

One of the very best features of VBC is that the owner, Colin, takes the new residents into his office and explains everything there is to do on the island, along with maps and prices for everything. So you can plan your week out as to what excursions are priorities and which ones you must save for another trip!! Which is exactly what we did! We had a driver, Ali, who was very personable and an extremely good and cautious driver. VBC only uses certain drivers they contract with, which I found important as I would not have liked to just hail down a cab and who knows what kind of ride you might have. I liked that all things were booked through the VBC office. (And the women working in the office were absolutely wonderful to work with...couldn't ask for better more helpful people with great smiles!)

I won't go into what we did as all of the things have been covered in previous reviews, but suffice it to say we enjoyed absolutely everything we did, and we do hopefully plan on returning. Without hesitation we will book Villa Beach Cottages again!

Room Tip: I liked our room....it was on the very end, so we only had a neighbor on one side and the pool and h...

We stayed at Villa Beach Cottages in mid-November and we have to agree with a lot of the previous comments, it was a great vacation and VBC’s was the right choice for us. If you are looking for a really great location, nice/clean accommodations, friendly and very helpful staff with a quiet atmosphere, this is it!! We had a second floor standard one bedroom villa. The room was great. The view from the balcony was beautiful along with the sound of the waves. There are a lot of great restaurants close by and you can easily get to them by taxi or renting your own car from Austin and the on-site car rental at VBC’s. We opted to rent a car for a few days as we found it to be the best way to really experience and see the beauty of the island. The VBC’s contracts one of the best drivers we’ve encountered on our many trips to Caribbean islands, his name is Claudius. We highly recommend taking the tour Colin (owner/GM of VBC) has prepared from Castries to the Soufrieres area with Claudius as he is very outgoing, friendly and proud of his home. You get a great tour and experience the beauty of the island going through rainforest, mountains, fishing villages, and beaches. Having lunch at Ladera with a direct view of the Pitons and Sugar Beach was magnificent and an almost unbelievable view for lunch. Pictures really do not do it justice. We spent 3 full days of our 7 just relaxing/unwinding by staying on site at VBC’s enjoying the beautiful view and peacefulness of the resort. If returning to St Lucia we would not hesitate for a second to stay at the Villa Beach Cottages again.

To give you a bit of background we have travelled quite extensively through Mexico and the Caribbean and generally gravitate towards all-inclusive adult only resorts. We stayed at Villa Beach Cottages in a deluxe one bedroom suite on the second floor (#2) October 5 – 19, 2013 and will DEFINATELY return! The suite was fabulous and it was so wonderful to watch the magnificent sunsets from our balcony and fall asleep listening to the ocean waves. Although our bedroom had air conditioning we found that the ocean breeze kept it cool enough and slept with our balcony doors open and the bed was wonderfully comfortable. The kitchen was very well stocked and it was great to make breakfast and eat on our balcony. There was plenty of room in the bathroom with double sinks and a huge wonderful shower and a flat screen TV with ample channel selections in the bedroom. We really appreciated the convenience and location of the number of electrical outlets for our electronics and we had no problems with the Wi-Fi. I have attached pictures of the sea view Jacuzzi and the view from it which I couldn’t find online anywhere before we went. There is Mega J store which is like a Costco and Home Depot combined about a five minute walk north on the highway and a Super J grocery store about ten minutes to the south. You can easily find any grocery items you may need including beer, wine and liquor. We went to many restaurants for dinner and had some of the best meals we’ve ever experienced in the Caribbean. Definitely check out the restaurant reviews on TA. We also went to The Wharf restaurant on the beach next door to VBC for lunch many times and really enjoyed the food and hospitality. Our taxi driver for our two weeks was Claudius who was an amazing tour guide and wonderful driver and friend. We did a full day island tour with Claudius that included Marigot Bay, Diamond Falls and botanical gardens, lunch at Ladera which has the most amazing view of the Pitons, a cocoa plantation tour at La Dauphine Estate, the mud baths and snorkeling at Sugar Beach which was absolutely amazing! We snorkeled among some incredible schools of fish and that day was definitely a highlight of our trip. We also went snorkeling at Smugglers Cove, hiked to the top of Pigeon Island, went to the Castries market and the Friday night Gros Islet street party. Claudius was always so patient with us and no wait was too long for him, he wanted to be sure we enjoyed all we could of the island which was very much appreciated. All the staff at VBC were so friendly and helpful, there was nothing that they wouldn’t do for us. Colin (the GM) spent time with us and gave us some great advice and history which we really appreciated. We took our own spring floats that are really compact and lightweight to pack and spent a lot of time floating in the beautiful calm ocean waters and the pools. We also rented the two person kayak one day and paddled to Rat Island which was a lot of fun. We had a sunset couples massage in the gazebo on the beach in front of our room followed by a catered dinner on our balcony one night which was extraordinary and we would highly recommend. We did a catamaran trip to the Pitons to get a different perspective of them from the water and enjoyed it as well. Villa Beach Cottages is an amazing place to experience and we are hopefully anticipating our return visit in May, 2014. Colin and his team really make you feel like family and we are looking forward to returning to our second home. Please PM me if you have any questions.
