“Best Excursion.....EVER!”

Dolphin Dive Adventure
Reviewed 13 February 2012

This is the second time we've booked our excursion with "Irwin" of Dolphin Dive Adventure. Some people on our cruise ship heard us talk about this excursion and they were so anxious to try it out, they cancelled their pre-booked excursions to join us on this one.
Irwin and his staff are very courteous and knowledgeable. From the first time you meet him and his staff, you know you're going to have a Great Time. The boat ride to the snorkel site was spectacular! Irwin gave a great guided tour and answered all of our questions. Water and other "soft" drinks were served. The snorkel site was picture-perfect with warm, clear, waters teaming with sea life, and a wonderful bar/restaurant on the beach for our use. After a few hours, Irwin took us by boat out to the World Famous Pitons where we enjoyed Piton Beer and Rum Punch. We've been to many of the Caribbean Islands and have taken part in several excursions. This one is by far, the best one for the price. You'll talk about it for years to come. Our friends thanked us for introducing them to Irwin and his staff and have vowed to return again, also. Thank you for welcoming us "Back Home", Irwin. Kelly & Sylvia Hohmann

My wife and I came in on a cruise line. We decided to wing-it and see what we could find on shore because the none of the cruise packages seem to be what we wanted. Our goal was to go to the resort beach between the Pitons and enjoy the day swimming, snorkeling, without the large crowds. At the tourist booth as we came off the ship, we found Irwin, with Dolphin Dive Adventure. He first wanted us to do the usual tour but when I explained what I was looking for and he said for another $10 USD he would have the Captain take us. Needless to say we agreed. After a short wait, they had 19 others wanting to snorkel. The speed boat took us up the coast which was a great trip in and of its self. After dropping off the others, Raymond, the captain and his mate, Mervin, took us up to the Pitons and gave us a pick up time - which he was right on time. Going back he stopped out in the ocean and took pictures of my wife and I with the Pitons in the back ground. Then they took us all to an arch that was featured in Pirates of the Caribbean, let us jump off the boat and swim in the open water. And yes their was rum punch, punch, water, and soft drinks. Even though we winged this, it was excellent! I highly recommend this company - enjoy and have a good time!

I researched dive operators in St. Lucia extensivesly before I took a cruise to the Southern Caribbean and decided to go with Dolphin Dive because the groups were kept small and tailored to the level of the divers. I couldn't be more satisfied. I found the owner, "Papa Irwin" to be fun, friendly, and most of all, serious about ensuring that his customers experience is safe and enjoyable. Since this was my first dive after being certified, I was concerned about finding an operator who would take us to an area beyond the "intro to scuba" level but not so overwhelming that I felt unprepared or was holding others back. Dolphin Dive knew the area extensively and could take us to a spot perfect for our level of diving. Their thoroughness and attention removed any concern I had about it being my "first dive". The equipment was well maintained, the pick up and drop off was easy, the trip was affordable, and the best part was they took care of the equipment before and after the dive so you didn't have to! This is definitely a class act!

We dove with Dolphin Dive Adventure in St Lucia for two weeks in March 2011. The owner, Irwin and his boat captains, Raymond and Noel, are fantastic. They are very friendly and really want you to enjoy your time with them.

They picked us up and dropped us off by boat at a dock near our hotel in Rodney Bay (Village Inn). We went to different dive sites all along the coast of the island, including to the South of the island. They personalized the dives according to the skill and prior dives of the day's divers and the water conditions. Our group size varied from 2 to 12 divers. If there were about 8 or more divers, they brought along 2 boats, one for people and one for gear, then tied them up together when we got to the dive site. They gave us snacks between dives. We rented most of our equipment from them, it was all on the boat before they picked us up and they took care of it afterwards, including setting it all up before/between dives if you wanted.

During the dives, Irwin was very attentive, kept an eye on everyone, keeping an especially close eye on new divers until he was sure that they were comfortable. Dives were relaxed and lasted 45-60 minutes, until people were getting low on air. He led the dives at a slow pace, giving time to look around. He was a careful diver, not touching or disturbing any of the sea life or coral. All of our dives were drift dives, but in most locations, the current was fairly mild.

Like many people on the island, they have a "Don't worry, be happy" attitude. Things are done in a relaxed (but careful) manner. It very much feels like they personally care for their clients and want them to have an enjoyable day.

I did 12 dives with Irwin, and 3 dives with other dive operators in St Lucia. The others felt like a factory process - they were just kind of herding us through. They did not feel as personally attentive. I was much more comfortable with Irwin and crew. If I go back to St-Lucia, I would dive with Dolphin Dive again without any hesitation.
