Owner description: Snuba is the ultimate happy-medium for those wanting to go beyond snorkeling without the training and concerns associated with a deep dive. Under the supervision of certified Snuba guides, divers can explore exotic marine life uninterrupted; there is no need to surface for air or tussle with bulky equipment. After a pre-dive orientation, tour begins from a gently sloping beach and descends to a maximum depth of 20 feet. Divers choose your depth of comfort.

As a family with young teens this was perfect. We are not scuba divers and we love to snorkel - so this experience just stepped it up enough to be very different for us. The crew was great. The process is very simple and I would imagine most will have no difficulties. We were a family of 4 so we were on one floating compressed air thingy. I had a bit of a hard time getting ok with with going all the way under and breathing normally. We had starfish as our guide and he was very reassuring and took time to make sure I got it and kept calm. The kids and husband had no issues and adapted very quickly. We all loved the experience. We were picked up by a bus loaded with folks from other resorts and taken just done the road for us to pigeon island. You need the basics of a towel , wear your suit- if you have a rash guard it is helpful since you strap into equipment. Your stays on the beach and they have folks there so no worries on that.

They SNUBA experience takes place at the reef in Pigeon National Park. There is plenty of marine life to see - the guide showed us eels, octopus, puffer fish, sea horses, brain coral, and plenty of other colorful tropical fish. Our guide (blue marlin) was enthusiastic and made the experience a lot of fun. If you are looking to see some spectacular exotic sights this may not be the trip for you, but if you are looking for a first time experience in underwater sight seeing - this is definitely the place to start!

The snub a and Sea Trek is based just inside the Pigeon Point national park. This means you have to pay US$7 entrance fee on top of the cost of the event if you go independently. The cost for Sea Trek was US$94 per person including pick-up or US$74 if we made our own way there. Sea Trek was an interesting experience - we put air fed helmets on our heads and walked along the bottom of the sea. They provided suitable footwear though we took our own aqua shoes. There's not much sea life to see there but plenty of sea weed. By walking on the sea floor we stirred up the sand making visibility quite poor. The Jambe du Bois restaurant is very close by and offered a good selection of food. Try to avoid going thereon a cruise ship day as when the restaurant is busy service is very challenging.
