The crew on the boat truly make this Dive Operation. Ken, Alton and Captain Jack make the day of diving so much fun. If your lucky enough just to have these three on board you will not only max your dive time but see more and enjoy your dives much more. Nothing against Shirley the owner but she's not as out going and friendly as others. The dive times at time can be very limited depending on level of divers on board but they try their best to make sure everyone has a good experience. Allot of time I came up with between 75-100bar or 1100 to 1500PSI. I stayed the St James Club Morgan Bay and they pick you up right at the beach on the way south to the dive sites. If you dive multiple days be prepared to visit the same dive sites depending on who's on board. The dive sites you will visit are max depth 60ft, anything lower really didn't make sense due to visibility. Best stuff was between 20-40 feet anyways. No really big fish to see, coral is amazing, saw one turtle over 4 days of diving but did see plenty of fish just not big stuff.

Thank you for your review which I feel motivated to respond to.

We try to make sure that the staff interacts with everybody on the boat as much as possible and that there is a nice safe and fun atmosphere. I am not sure why you thought Shirley was not as outgoing as other staff members as there are many reviews on this site that make comments on how friendly and pleasant Shirley is?

Regarding your dive times; it is not simply about coming back from the dive with 70 or 100 Bar, any experienced diver can do that, it is about TIME AT DEPTH and the amount of Nitrogen that you have accumulated. All of my instructors are quite able to do both dives on one tank of air and still come back with a safe reserve. Your dive times were not short, here is exactly what you did, on each dive straight from our Master Dive Log:-

Day 1 (July 2nd)
Dive 1:- Lesleen M Wreck, depth 67ft, dive time 42 minutes.
Dive 2:- Anse Cochon (South), depth 30ft, dive time 60 minutes.

Day 2 (July 3rd)
Dive 1:- Superman’s Flight, depth 60ft, dive time 52 minutes.
Dive 2:- Fairyland, depth 50ft, dive time 50 minutes.

Day 3 (July 4th)
Dive 1:- Anse Chastanet, depth 62ft, dive time 43 minutes.
Dive 2:- Grand Caille, depth 53ft, dive time 55 minutes.

Day 4 (July 5th) which you booked at short notice
Dive 1:- Anse Cochon (North) depth 57 feet, dive time 52 minutes.
Dive 2:- Anse Cochon (South) (repeat site for you) depth 29 feet, dive time 61 minutes.

From the above, you can clearly see that dive times are way longer than most operators give you and that in fact, had you stuck with the three days you originally pre-booked, you would not have had to repeat any dive sites. The only reason you repeated 1 site out of 8 dives, is that you added another day at short notice and we had already planned to do that dive site.

You may also remember that the dive site you repeated on the 5th July produced the following:- Frogfish (2), Seahorses (2), Octopus (2), Sand Eel, Moray Eels, Scorpion Fish, Peacock Flounders (6) in addition to the normal Tropical Fish that we see, so in fact, that was a very nice and productive dive?

Professional and friendly staff, well maintained equipment, pick up at hotel right on time, dives were safe and interesting, and the boat dropped us back at our resort - exceeded my expectations. Thank you Shirley, Ken and Capt. Jack.

Best dive boat i have ever been on. The dives in St Lucia are boat dives and some take a bit to get to by sea. Boat is rigged just right, shade and easy exits(2) and easy entry(2). Crew was five star helped with gear, air and kept the boat clean. Shirley made a savory snack to enjoy between dives. We rented BCD and Regulators A Plus there too. Steve picked us up every day promptly and returned us promptly to our hotel. We dived for three days and they took us to a variety of sites, the crew was skilled and entertaining Loved them all. Safety first and fun second. Would recommend them 100%. For those who had not dived in a while or not much experience they reviewed the dive and did some check out before the dive began. Excellent dive shop and Five Star Padi - hope to dive with you again some day

We used Scuba Steve's after reading reviews on tripadvisor from people staying at the same resort as us, emailed them from the hotel and Steve phoned me to arrange diving. We are not very experienced divers (30 + dives), were asked if we were certified (we are o/w), also asked for BCD sizes etc and credit card information.(no health questions at all) On our first dive, my husband drifted away from the group and I could not see him, which I relayed to the instructor, who got us to stay where we were and went to look for him, came back could not find him, CARRIED on with the dive and as it turned out out my husband could not dump the air from his BCD and was back on the boat !!! On our third dive, i was given a medium instead of a small BCD , as a result spent the whole dive trying to centralise my tank, instructors apologised once again, but no ! I would not use Scuba Steve's again.

Thank you for your review which I feel the need to respond to.

Firstly, your point about not being asked any health questions; You were asked to produce your certification cards and we inspected them and noted the details on the Standard Safe Diving Practices Statement of Understanding and Liability Release and Assumption of Risk Forms which you were supposed to read before you signed them.

Paragraph 1) of the Standard Safe Diving Practices Statement of Understanding says under your responsibilities “Maintain good mental and physical fitness for diving”...... Because you were not participating in any course with in-water training, there is no requirement in St Lucia (and many other places in the world) for Dive Centres to ask you about your health.

As CERTIFIED divers if you remember your training and the declaration you signed when you completed your certification, it is YOUR responsibility to ensure that you are fit enough to dive? Had you been participating in a course, we would have asked you to complete an RSTC Medical Statement before starting your diving. This is a dive community standard, perhaps you need to re-read your training materials and read paperwork you are asked to sign before signing it?

During the briefing on the boat before each dive, you are told what to do in the event of buddy separation. This is what you are told “If you get separated from your buddy search around underwater for 1 minute then surface and re-unite on the surface”. Three questions come to mind here, 1) Why were you so far from your buddy that you could lose each other, 2) why didn’t you follow the procedure you were told to follow in the briefing before the dive 3) did you actually listen to the briefing before the dive?

You were not in fact given the wrong BCD YOU picked up your husbands equipment (or he picked up yours). Either way, the right equipment was provided for you and your husband, exactly the same equipment that you used on your first day of diving with us. It is not our responsibility after giving you your equipment to make sure you actually put on the right equipment, you are not a child needing Mummy to dress you. You are supposed to be certified divers, not students under instruction and as such, you have some responsibility for your actions.

In conclusion, I have to ask why if our service was so bad, did you book a second day of diving?

Although the dive boat was small, diving in St Lucia with Steve (yep, our Dive Master WAS Scuba Steve), was a great experience. We WILL go back to St Lucia one day and we will gladly book our dives with Steve again.

Beautiful, breathtaking!
