My wife and I stumbled upon Brown Sugar thanks to a friend who lives on her vessel in Rodney Bay. We have been to Coal Pot and in and around Vigie Cove. We remember Froggy Jacques from years before. Our friend said you must try this place.
Oh, my gosh! Tucked away on a tiny road before you get to the Coal Pot road turn off sits this unassuming building that overlooks Vigie Cove and The Coal Pot.
The first thing that caught us was the attention to detail this couple had put into insuring it was clean, visually appealing and warm. The menu is small enough to assure the diner that what comes out of the kitchen will be special (I avoid at all costs menus with too many offerings).
Words do not do this experience justice - Go - enjoy the warmth of this family owned business and incredibly delicious food that comes out of the kitchen MADE WITH LOVE YOU CAN TASTE.

Don't leave the island without going here, even if for lunch. If you live on Saint Lucia and you haven't found this gem yet - do yourself a favor and go.

My wife and I stumbled upon Brown Sugar while looking for a different restaurant in the area that had closed. A local recommended we give it a try. What a great little place. It was clean and updated, the service was polite and prompt and the food had a delicious local flavor. The prices were spot on to boot. I gave the beef roti a try, a spicy mix of beef and potatoes wrapped in a pastry, and it was delicious. I highly recommend you give this a visit.

This little nugget is tucked away in Vigie Cove, in the space that used to be Froggy Jacques for those of you with long memories. Creatively reinvented by a talented chef/owner, Brown Sugar is a perfect evening out for friends or couples. We were greeted warmly by Kami, a self-described nomad originally from Guyana and now a 16-year St. Lucian. She seated us on the upper deck with a stunning view of Vigie Cove and Castries Harbor as dusk descended. The menu at first glance seems routine, but look closely for little surprises. The wings were perfectly tender and dripping with a sweet spicy sauce so good I dipped my fries in it. The fish tortillas were divine--fresh mahi with a slaw of cabbage, roasted tomatoes and jalapeños...not too hot, but just right. The chicken caesar salad featured the most tender, juicy and flavorful chicken I've had in recent memory. Jami's creative culinary talents were evident in dessert: a stacked tower of alternating vanilla cake and mango cheesecake, drizzled in mango coulis. It even came with a lesson on distinctions between mango varietals on the island. The best surprise of the night was the bill--a meal of this quality cannot be found elsewhere in St. Lucia at such value. I promise we will be back soon. We hope to see you there!

We first visited Brown Sugar for a Friday business lunch in a group of 4. On arrival we were greeted with a very friendly welcome. Their balcony tables over look the quiet bay of Vigie Cove. The food was very tasty and reasonably priced. Their drinks menu was comprehensive so my wife and I returned on a Monday evening to sample some of their wines and rums.

It was nice to be able to discuss both food and tourist options with Chef Kameeza and her family. In terms of snacks we really enjoy their Samosas. It certainly is one of the better options for casual outdoor dining in Castries.
