This is belated, but my husband and I spent our honeymoon at Calabash Cove in late March/early April, 2013. What a beautiful place! So serene and relaxing, and everyone there was very friendly and helpful. The food at the restaurant was fantastic. We had one of the swim-up suites and it was perfect. Very romantic. Definitely want to go back to this place!

I'm currently staying at Calabash Cove. I don't understand how anyone could say anything bad about this place. It's absolutely perfect. Spend the extra money and rent one of the cottages. Truly like having your own private house on the beach. The AC is more than enough to cool the bedroom. The outdoor shower is incredible. Some people complain about the entry road. But I don't think it's that bad at all. Very private. No one else on the beach. The food and drinks have been wonderful as well. We are already discussing coming back in a few years to celebrate our anniversary.

We absolutely loved Calabash Cove! We stayed here for five nights of our honeymoon and everything was comfortable, welcoming, modern, and luxurious. We were there end of July, which is the “rainy season.” No big deal though, this just meant a few afternoon showers that lasted about 5 – 10 minutes and then beautiful sunshine again.

I have never received better service in my life, neither in the states or anywhere else in my travels. Lily, Davidson, Gavin, and Andrea were especially warm and helpful and made our stay that much more exceptional. One of our favorite parts of the trip was just chatting with the staff and learning about the island from those who’ve grown up there. We found out about a West Indies cricket game from Davidson and were able to attend. Something, as Americans, we’d never done before. It was a blast!

I typically steer away from all-inclusive, but this was really dining at it’s best for three meals a day. There were a variety of options, fresh ingredients, and the flexibility to modify almost anything. Our fridge was restocked with beers and waters daily and had full bottles of wine and select premium alcohols as well. We did a breakfast and dinner via the included room service and enjoyed private meals on our balcony with a beautiful view of the Caribbean. We could not have been happier with the food and beverage choices.

We stayed in a Sunset Ocean View Junior Suite. The room was comfortable, clean and had an exceptional view; I especially loved the large Jacuzzi tub in the room. We also did a couples massage at the spa that was wonderful.

The only drawbacks of this resort are the relatively small beach area and the lack of activities. There are sea kayaks, but that’s pretty much it. We did a few excursions. I would skip the rum tour, it’s a lot of time in the car and the tour is basically a video and 5 minute run through the actual distillery. The sailboat with Maurice is worth every penny. This was an absolutely incredible experience, including great stories, wonderful snorkeling, and delicious snacks made by his wife and fruit from his backyard. Far and away one of my favorite things we did in St. Lucia.

Left a cold, snowy UK behind. After a delayed BA flight from Gatwick, snow had cleared but problems with required spare batteries that aircraft needed to fly.......
Arrived in the dark, very weary. 3 couples arrived at same time but check in was speedy.
Offered a drink of our choice. That was our first contact with the lovely " Lily " . What an asset she is to the hotel, always a smile on her face and any request was no trouble. A rapport built straight away.
Staff in general excellent and we slipped into the Caribbean mode and throughly relaxed!!!!!!
Room was great, located top floor of stand alone building. Think it was room 209, had a high vaulted ceiling. Views fantastic. We like being above the vegetation and not in it !!!! A beachside cottage would not have suited us but that's a personal choice.
We were on AI package which suited us as we are foodies and appreciate good food and wine. Not disappointed. The quality of both excellent.
Asked for a tour of the kitchen which Konrad arranged with Didier the French chef.
I was impressed with the clenliness and storage facilieties. It is a small kitchen which was very well organised with dedicated staff resulting in choices of superb dishes.
Fish was our favourite. We loved the Asian, Creole,European fusion style. Top notch for us.
Pool bar food also excellent. Jonathan and Lance a good duo behind the bar.
All guests got on together and we all had a great time.
Booked through Simply St Lucia. They regularly visit hotels that they feature and their inside knowledge prompted us to book in the first place.
Thanks to all staff,we can't speak highly enough.

We have just returned from a 2 week honeymoon at Calabash. We were looking forward to our trip having read all the previous reviews and believe me this place is awesome. We could not find fault with anything and agree with many of the reviews that the people make the difference. Gavin at the poolside bar was always friendly and helpful and we enjoyed many lunchtimes chatting with him. I agree with Cameron C's review that when we left it was like saying goodbye to a real friend. All of the staff in the restaurant were brilliant and having been on many 'all inclusive' holidays in the past this place tops them all. It is true Al a Carte dining. Rohan on the front desk was extremely helpful and arranged for a mosquito net to be fitted in our cottage.
We were in cottage 8 which was in the last block away from the hotel so very secluded. We even got to know the garden staff who.I dont think that we can say more than has already been said in other reviews other than, if you want a honeymoon or holiday to remember where the staff will make you feel very special in a very quiet and beautiful hotel then this is for you. Just book it now, you wont be dissappointed.

Room Tip: All of the cottages are beautiful but 8 & 9 are furthest from the main hotel so have a little mo...

This place exceeded our already high expectations from other reviews! We stayed 7 days for our honeymoon and couldn’t have chosen a better place. The fact that this resort only has 20 or so rooms which was only 25% occupied made the resort feel extremely exclusive. The first couple days we were there we had the pool to ourselves every day. No one on the beach every time we went. Which left the staff to focus on us! It was funny to think that on day 4 the pool was crowded when we were join by another couple or two.
The staff made the trip just that much better. Lance and Gavin at the pool bar were awesome and always entertaining and fun to be around. We spent a lot of time in the pool and they took care of us the entire time and by the end of the trip felt like friends. Lily was the bartender at the restaurant bar and she was great! Extremely friendly and we loved hanging out at the bar talking with her. Andrea was our waitress a few times and again just a pleasure to be around. I have never been to a place where I got to know the staff so this experience is one I will remember. They were all so friendly and they made our time in such a beautiful place that much better.
This resort is laid back and is one thing we enjoyed the most. We weren’t looking for an active party style resort like you would get at sandals. It was quiet and peaceful and I would recommend it to anyone looking for an escape from the normal large resorts you find everywhere. I can't imagine that here is a better pool view in St. Lucia. Looking out from the elevated infinity edge pool was an amazing view of a large bay with the Capital Castries lighting up the hillside at night.
We stayed in cottage number 1 up on the hill to the far right when looking down to the beach. The view from the deck and plunge pool was absolutely amazing!! This cottage is the most elevated which left unobstructed views all around. I loved that the bedroom had AC while the front room of the cottage could be opened up to have th great views. Many other resorts we looked at (Ladera) had all open air rooms which would have left me way to hot and uncomfortable to sleep. Being on the far side of the resort left it very secluded but still very convenient to get to the pool and restaurant. The outdoor shower in the room was amazing. What it doesn’t show on the resort website is the incredible view it has. In fact the pictures of the resort online do not do it justice. The amount that the properties vegetation has grown in and the views of the bay and lights of Castries at night (which are not well shown) completely shatter your expectations the moment you arrive.
We did the all-inclusive and were extremely happy with our decision!! The food at the restaurant and pool bar was always fantastic. They change up there specials daily and there wasn’t one thing we had that wasn’t amazing. This is coming from a couple that loves to eat out and has high standards when it comes to food.
I would recommend this place to anyone who enjoys a quite resort that at times feels like you are the only one there. Food was great! Staff was wonderful! Views are unbeatable!!

My wife and I traveled to St Lucia for our honeymoon in July, 2013. We didn't want to stay at a "mega resort" or do an all-inclusive, since we wanted to get out and explore, and not feel tied down to an all-inclusive meal plan. This drew us to Calabash Cove - it is a small, boutique resort nestled on a hillside above the Caribbean, and is absolutely beautiful. Some complain about the long road to get to the resort, but that helps it stay off the beaten path and gives you more privacy. It was the off-season, so the already small resort was practically empty, which meant very personal attention from the friendly staff.

Upon our arrival, we were greeted with complimentary drinks from the bar (the rum punch is delicious), and we planned out our activities for the trip, all coordinated through the resort and the very helpful concierge. Everyone there knew our names, which added to the atmosphere. We had a swim-up junior suite, with which we were very pleased - we had a large bed, large jacuzzi, patio, and could walk out of our room into the infinity pool, or swim to the pool bar. The views from the pool and the restaurant were simply incredible - calm, blue waters, and gorgeous opportunities for a sunset.

The restaurant and bar hours were somewhat limited (the pool bar is only open until 5 pm, the hotel bar is only open until 11 pm), but the bartenders and wait staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was very good, and the daily specials spiced things up nicely. All meals could be charged to your room, and some guests there did have an all-inclusive plan for meals/drinks - but this is not the ideal place if you want all-inclusive since there is only one restaurant. But for a nice, romantic getaway, it's perfect!

The beach is quiet and secluded, but was very pretty. We had the romantic dinner on the pier our first night there and were very impressed. Also of particular note was the couples massage at the spa, the sunset sail out of Rodney Bay, and the Piton hike, all booked through Calabash Cove. Just don't forget bug spray (the resort and the surrounding area can get quite buggy! And keep the mosquito net down around your bed).

Even though it was the off-season, we very much enjoyed St Lucia - it rained a little bit one day, and was overcast on another day, but other than that the weather was sunny and perfect for the beach.

All in all, we were very impressed with the resort and our vacation. Calabash Cove was not far from Castries (the capital city), Rodney Bay (with good nightlife and restaurants) and Marigot Bay (very scenic, with other good restaurants), so we were able to experience much of St Lucia in a short time. If you're looking for a quiet, delightful, scenic and romantic resort, this is it!

Room Tip: Swim up junior suites seem to have the best value
