If you are looking for a low key, quiet place to stay with easy access to buses, Rodney Bay, and a beach, this is the place to stay. The clean and comfortable apartment was wonderfully eclectic with beautiful pine woodwork. It was fun watching the chickens roam, greet and feed the goats, and spoil Mocha, the dog.
The hosts, Bea and Shal, looked after us without being intrusive. They provided us with fascinating island history, researched activities for us (e.g., kayaking opportunities), and allowed us to rent their car. Bea and Shal are lovely individuals who want their guests to enjoy their stay and their island. We followed their recommendations of sites on the east and west coasts of St. Lucia. Glad we did. Their recommendations enhanced our experience.
Great place. Super comfortable. Everything you need to enjoy an authentic island stay. The cottage is in a true neighborhood. The beach is a walkable distance, also is the town of Gros Islet which has great restaurants and stores to purchase anything you need to cook your own meals. If you want to visit with the owner, or his menagerie of animals, he lives in the house behind the cottage, but you have total privacy if you want also.( I really enjoyed feeding the goats my old bread and they love it). There is plenty of room around the cottage, none of the homes are close together. The owner, Shal, will be happy to take you to any place on the island you want to go, or even to arrange horseback riding for you. (He has his own car service and I used him to get to and from the airport) If you enjoy hiking there are great places to see some beautiful scenery. I spent an entire day hiking and met with a lot of local friendly people along the way. For me, I prefer staying in local places as opposed to resorts and this was perfect.
This little house is set out with all the amenities you need including wifi, fully equipped kitchen, laundry and the all important AC. The location is ideal for a more cultural experience with a local feel. However, it is still only 10/15 minutes walk from the shops and only 5/10 minutes walk from the beach. The hosts were so friendly and accommodated all our needs and beyond.

My husband and I stayed at Seawind Cottage for three nights in July and thoroughly enjoyed the time spent in this comfortable and well maintained property. The rooms were nicely decorated and the cottage was clean throughout, complemented by attractive, Caribbean style décor. Its close proximity to the beach ( a short walk) and nearby riding stables was perfect for us, as we enjoy a combination of leisurely & sporting activities on holiday. The cottage is set in a couple of acres of grassland, bordered by trees and shrubbery and perfect for a relaxing holiday. We had a really pleasant stay and will certainly be back.
My husband and I have just returned to the UK having spent the last two days of our holiday at Seawinds Cottage. We enjoyed feeling like locals listening to the early morning St Lucian sounds whilst drinking coffee on our sweet little balcony. The local beach is a pleasant walk away and we were only five minutes drive from the centre of the bustling town of Gros Islet which offers many local restaurants and fish fry nights on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Also close by is Rodney Bay marina where you can get great breakfasts and sip on local juices. Our host Shal could not do enough for us and was available to answer any queries we had. He also has a car available for hire although he was on hand to take us anywhere we wanted. My son intends to return there in February next year for a longer stay. Trisha from S W London
