On the day we arrived at our resort (Coconut Bay) we were lucky enough to speak with someone who had just returned from Simon's tour. She raved about it and brought me his card the next day.

I emailed Simon to check his availability and set up a time. He responded promtly and gave me a call in my room to confirm the details.

Our group had four adults and two children and Simon picked us up on time at the security gate of our resort. He was super friendly and easy to talk to as we started our day in his comfortable van. He brought a cooler of Piton beer (its much better from the bottle!), Rum punch, water and soda for us to have during the day which was much appreciated.

As we drove to our first destination, we went through a few towns, including his hometown of Soufriere, and he took the time to tell us about the areas and point things out along the way. There were a few stops for photos with amazing views.

Our first stop was a gorgeous (but freezing!) waterfall. We beat the crowds there and had the place to ourselves! Then, we drove into Soufriere where we met a boat that would take us on a ride to a great snorkling and beach spot between the Pitons. We enjoyed the ride on the boat just as much as our time at the beach. Next up was the drive through Volcano, sulfur springs, and mud bath. Simon told us that he worked at the volcano for years before he started his own business so he really knew the ins and outs of the place and guided us around the crowds to just the right places. While we went into the mud bath, he took our cameras to capture some photos for us. Be sure to purchase some of the pumice soap as you'll love the way your skin feels after the mud bath!

Next up was the absolute best part and something that made this tour special. Simon then brings you to his beautiful (seriously this place is gorgeous!) for lunch prepared by his wife. The food was so good, we all ate like we hadn't eaten in a week! There was creole chicken, mac and cheese, noodles, and a rice dish. I'm hoping they'll share there mac and cheese recipe because we haven't been able to stop talking about it since! His wife and son were so sweet. We truly enjoyed meeting them and appreciated them opening their home!

One thing to note is that we did have to pay a small admission at the waterfall and mud bath that wasn't included in our price. This wasn't a big deal but think that it should be mentioned in case some people don't bring extra cash with them.

Overall, we had a great day and felt we saw soo much without ever feeling rushed. Simon truly was great to us and made the tour personal, informative, and so much fun! I would highly recommend to anyone!

Thanks again!

My wife and I took this tour during our honeymoon actually as an inclusion within another tour called Son of Man Boat Tours and Coastal Cruises. Together they were a perfect match. You can checkout our review of the full tour under the Son of Man attraction but for the Simon Says Tour specifically, it was very well put together, fun and memorable. Once we pulled up to the dock at Soufriere, we toured the City and were able to experience it's historical sites as well as shop the local stores and gift shops. He then took us to the famous Piton Mountains where we were able to see and even bath in their famous Sulfer Springs. The water was fairly hot like a jacuzzi but once you got in it wasn't bad. He gave each of his tourists a free bar of sulfer soap to use as scrub in the springs. It felt amazing and really softened our skin. After rinsing off we were then taken to lunch at his self owned restaurant deep in the city where his wife cooked us a delicious buffet style meal along with some of the best lemonade (which was actually made out of local oranges) that any of the tourists had ever had.
After lunch we were taken to the beautiful waterfall where you can swim if you choose. And after finally wearing us out, we were taken back to our boat to head back to our resort.
Money well spent...

In preparing for our trip we reviewed a number of different tour groups even looking at Simon Says. We decided not to book anything before we left and get a feel for St Lucia. Upon arriving at Hewanorra Airport we were funneled into the Southern Taxicab Association group. They wanted to overcharge us for our ride to the hotel in Soufriere and were pressuring us to go with them. We backed away and decided to go exchange some money at the bank....and that's where we ran into the one of the best decisions we made while in St Lucia....talking to and hiring Simon!

He was warm and friendly and although we were a bit skeptical at first he gave us a great deal for the transfer to the hotel. Along the way he started telling us about St Lucia, what he does, things to see and do etc. Because of our prior research we knew prices and tour itineraries and he beat all the big name tour people.

We hired him for the next day and he was prompt and friendly as he was the day before. His employee Johnny was also with him and was also a great kid who was warm and friendly as well. Simon took us to Sulphur Springs, a few of the local waterfalls a botanical garden and some lesser known mineral baths. Along the way he was informative but not in your face. He epitomizes the local laid back friendly vibe and we couldn't have been happier! He dropped us back off at our hotel and later picked us up for the Friday Night Fish Fry in Anse La Raye. Another couple that he had picked up earlier in the day joined us and we had a fantastic time! Be aware this is a very local experience. If you want white tablecloths and waiter service then this is not the experience for you. If you want local flavor, fun times, and a laid back island feel check this out!

Simon also arranged a boat trip to Marigot Bay and a sunset cruise.

Simon helped to make this the best vacation that either one of us have ever had. He was knowledgable, patient, friendly and full of island joy. A few times his kids were in the car and we also met his wife. We definitely feel like an extended part of his family now! We would have had a great time in St. Lucia I am sure.....but it is now unforgettable!!!!!

Jim Says....If you are going to St. Lucia and want a fair, fun and true local guide hire Simon!!!

We went snorkeling, to an active volcano and mud bath. We were then treated to a wonderful lunch made by Simon's wife at Simon's home. We were also able to tour the towns and do some gift purchasing. Along the way we were treated to beverages of all kinds. Definitely worth the money!!!! If you meet a representative on the beach it's much cheaper than going through the hotel tours!

We met Simon on the beach while staying at the Coconut Bay Beach Resort in Vieux Fort, St. Lucia. We signed up for his excursion which took us and a group of about 20 others to Sugar Beach which is located between the peaks of the Pitons for snorkeling. This was followed by a stop at the Toraille waterfall and then another at the sulphur hot springs and mud bath at the drive in volcano in Soufriere. The day was topped off by a delicious lunch which was prepared by SImon's wife at their beautiful home. As Simon says, you will have a great time! Make sure you look for him on the beach.
