On the day we arrived at our resort (Coconut Bay) we were lucky enough to speak with someone who had just returned from Simon's tour. She raved about it and brought me his card the next day.
I emailed Simon to check his availability and set up a time. He responded promtly and gave me a call in my room to confirm the details.
Our group had four adults and two children and Simon picked us up on time at the security gate of our resort. He was super friendly and easy to talk to as we started our day in his comfortable van. He brought a cooler of Piton beer (its much better from the bottle!), Rum punch, water and soda for us to have during the day which was much appreciated.
As we drove to our first destination, we went through a few towns, including his hometown of Soufriere, and he took the time to tell us about the areas and point things out along the way. There were a few stops for photos with amazing views.
Our first stop was a gorgeous (but freezing!) waterfall. We beat the crowds there and had the place to ourselves! Then, we drove into Soufriere where we met a boat that would take us on a ride to a great snorkling and beach spot between the Pitons. We enjoyed the ride on the boat just as much as our time at the beach. Next up was the drive through Volcano, sulfur springs, and mud bath. Simon told us that he worked at the volcano for years before he started his own business so he really knew the ins and outs of the place and guided us around the crowds to just the right places. While we went into the mud bath, he took our cameras to capture some photos for us. Be sure to purchase some of the pumice soap as you'll love the way your skin feels after the mud bath!
Next up was the absolute best part and something that made this tour special. Simon then brings you to his beautiful (seriously this place is gorgeous!) for lunch prepared by his wife. The food was so good, we all ate like we hadn't eaten in a week! There was creole chicken, mac and cheese, noodles, and a rice dish. I'm hoping they'll share there mac and cheese recipe because we haven't been able to stop talking about it since! His wife and son were so sweet. We truly enjoyed meeting them and appreciated them opening their home!
One thing to note is that we did have to pay a small admission at the waterfall and mud bath that wasn't included in our price. This wasn't a big deal but think that it should be mentioned in case some people don't bring extra cash with them.
Overall, we had a great day and felt we saw soo much without ever feeling rushed. Simon truly was great to us and made the tour personal, informative, and so much fun! I would highly recommend to anyone!
