Came back from a 10 day stay at St-Lucian by Rex. It was our first experience in an all-inclusive resort and i must admit that we were quite surprised. Having some friends in St-Lucia, we spent a lot of time out of the resort but the meals we had there were very decent; we were happy to find local food every time at ''Mariner's'' and even if the meat and fish were often over-cooked we found it very tasty. Must admit though they need to vary a little more their breakfast menu. ''The Oriental'' was very good and service was impeccable. ''Clippers''... well...went there once and never returned.

As for the location, it is simply perfect and has to be the main feature of this place; beach is awesome and it was very quiet when we were there. Our pool view room was simple but very clean and comfortable; i'd recommend it.

Oh,and if you're looking to play tennis, don't expect much of the two courts there...need a Lot of work.

As for the staff, it was surprising how some of them could be warm, friendly and attentive, and how others could be so incredibly indifferent and obviously couldn't care much about us even being there to pay their salary. Michelle at the bar would not even acknowledge our presence and would not even look us in the eyes...wow! I know you have to understand people are different but a little respect goes a long way.
In that regard, Tim the barman was AMAZING! Great man with a lot of talent behind the bar (even has a book of his accomplishments). My girlfriend showed up at his bar one night with a passion fruit and asked him to create something special with it; he created this amazing drink. Humanity, Coolness and Talent...that's how i would describe this ''Music Encyclopedia''.

Overall, great stay, great drinks and ...we'll be back for sure!

Room Tip: Best part of the hotel is near the smaller pool. And...Bring your own ashtray!!! lol :)

We found this hotel absolute paradise on earth.. we loved the food, views, location, people and of course the weather. Our wedding day was just magical and we couldnt have had such a special day without the staff that went out of there way to make it more special than we could have ever imagined. We would rate this hotel a 5* for the simple fact that our experience was amazing. Thanks to all involved, You know who you are !!!!

Room Tip: Beach front rooms are quality views

Had a fab holiday went for the jazz festival.Locations just on the beach, security treated me and my mate like a child. Felt like i was a prisoner in my own home. Wouldn't let any of my guest in my room. Dated decor with rats running around, breakfast was the same nearly everyday. Would never go back such a large hotel with no vibe, not a nice bar no entertainment. Theres plently other nicer family run hotels around the coner.

Just got back from a week at the Rex St Lucian, I agree with others that the hotel needs some TLC a lick of paint around the place, on the doors in the buffet area going into the kitchen would be one of them. That said, they were painting some rooms and outside area while we were there so I think that it has been noted and they are doing something about it.The room we had was an upgrade to sea view, the hotel was not very busy the week of 7-14 October the season apparently will start to get busier in the next couple of weeks, but they did have a few different bands playing in the evenings, one band was really good and once other guests started to dance and enjoy themselves we had a good time. When a hotel is low on guests people seem to hold back and it is such a shame the bands have a static audience watching them with not much atmosphere. The rooms were clean, beds fine, but I found it quite low lit in the evenings when tryng to get ready to go out, the bathroom definately needs a vent of some sort in it as it was unbearable once the shower had been on, you had to open the door to get some air circulating. Air conditioning was hit and miss, but the staff did respond so quickly to any problem that you may have. The swim up bar pool is great we had Channell looking after us there for most of the week, that girl can mix a mean cocktail she is so lovely as well, Lea and Michelle also were on bar duty there and all are really nice friendly ladies.Megan looked after the pool lunch bar area, she is another lovely friendly person, so thoughtful, but make sure you set yourself to Carribean time and chill out and wait for your lunch, after all your sunbed is only a few paces away.... We were all inclusive and had value for money , the location is beautiful, the beach perfect especially the end by the pool/bar soft sand right into the sea.Use the local bus number 1A to go to Castries market its only $1 each way Overall I would say go, its a good 3 star plus I think if only for the staff Greta, the reservations lady, Rochella (sorry names spelt incorrect) reception, Channell, Megan, the boys who did the bars at night, Tim barman, Mary buffet area, even the lovely man who did the gardens every one was a credit to Rex, the hotel should be proud to have them as staff, they made the week for me,( I went there to celebrate my birthday year coming of age!! thats pension age), and my friends, they all smiled and treated us very well.

Room Tip: we had a sea view on the first floor no lifts, but perfect to see the wonderful sunsets

Just back from 6 days at the Rex St Lucian.
The outside of the apartments is in need of a fresh coat of paint but the rooms are spacious and nice and cool compared to the hot temperatures outside.
Never had a bad meal all holiday (Went all inclusive so 3 meals a day), and plenty of choice with different lunch and dinner menus each day.
Staff were excellent and couldn;t have been more helpful. Channelle and Megan in the swim up bar were great characters. When we said we were off to Jump Up on the Friday a number of the staff were telling us they'd be there aswell, and one (Hercules) came and found us to make sure we were okj and then partied with us !
Would definitely recommend the resort and will definitely be back again.
Hotel is right on the beach, so if you get bored of the pools within 20 steps you're on the beach !

Room Tip: If it's quiet, ask for one of the seafront rooms.

Just returned from St Lucia and we were so glad we stayed here. It is important to know that although some of the areas about the hotel appear a bit rough and ready (due to hurricane last year) it really is a fantastic place. The bedrooms are clean and well decorated, the hotel has the best location on the best beach on the island and the staff here are so so helpful and friendly! Although we stayed all inclusive due to the great location we could wander off outside the hotel unlike a lot of other hotels on the island. The hotel felt open and we did not feel trapped in the hotel which some all inclusives can make you feel. Air con and a safety deposit box was available free of charge!!!! Because of when we went (Oct) the hotel was quite quiet however this was a bonus as we got to use the watersports on a regular basis without having to wait.

Room Tip: Went in October when things were not too busy. Booked a garden view and got upgarded to a sea view...
