“Wonderful Holiday in Paradise”

I have never stayed anywhere that the owners made you feel as welcome as did Simon and Francine at Blue Skies. The other reviewers have covered the basics quite well. This is the best place in St. Lucia, hands down. What makes it special for me is their personal touch – unbelievable. They will give you your space if you want it, but there’s also plenty of company and laughter to be had if you fancy it.
It's probably the furthest hotel away from the main airport in St. Lucia, but the trip up and back doesn't feel like a dull hotel transfer at all. If you're lucky, either Simon or Francine will pick you up, but the taxi drivers are also very friendly and interesting to talk to. No stuffy tour reps or cramped coach transfers here. If you' get car sick, be prepared. The roads all over the island are narrow and windy and the driving is rather nuts. If you get car sick, take Dramamine and sit toward the front of all taxi buses.
I went in search of rest and calm after a tough year. I got exactly that, along with many delights I had not anticipated: the exquisite gardens for one.
When you go on excursions, plan for travel time. Blue Skies is way up north and many places/tours you'll want to go on are in the middle or south end of the island so you'll find you're in a transfer taxi taking the same roads back and forth a lot.
Do hike up Pigeon Island. Its $10 to get into the park and it’s an easy hike up to some nice vantage points. The last part of the hike is quite steep, but at that point you already get an amazing view of Rodney Bay. I did enjoy a few drinks at Jambe De Bois – located just inside Pigeon Island Park. Tip: Jambe De Bois has 2 for 1 drinks and they are very strong drinks.

Do look through the many excursions and restaurant reviews, provided to you after your orientation at Blue Skies. The Bread Basket restaurant located at the marina is about a 5 minute walk; great for people watching and good local food.
Excursions: I did the Gros Pitons hike and the hike itself was beautiful, but tough. If you're in decent shape without joint, knee, or hip problems, you should be able to make it. I'd recommend three things: 1) Take a lot of WATER, 2) Take a lot of BREAKS, and 3) Go at your own pace and have fun! I arranged this through Simon and Francine with no problems. My taxi driver even climbed up with me, in his loafers! It was a great accomplishment, but do be aware that this tour takes about 4 hours total and I was completely and utterly exhausted by the end.
I also took the Tree top canopy tour in Dennery. 12 zips in total and the zip lines gave such scenic views, it was lovely. I would recommend for anyone who is in moderate physical shape - there were quite a few stairs leading up to some of the platforms.
The best part of the day for me was relaxing by the pool. The accommodations are very clean and well kept.
PS Francine and Simon I miss the dogs.

A little off the main tourist area in quiet suburb. Fairly close to all main attractions. Owners are great, very friendly and fantastically helpful. Stayed there with wife and 2 children ages 4 and 6. Lots of room both in the 2 bedrooms and kitchen and living area. Also front area with table that could eat and relax at. Pool for early morning or evening swim - very nice and kids loved. Did not have rental car, although owners had one they would rent, but usually owners did one drive to a beach or tourist area or really anywhere in town or just out of town, and then we at end of day found taxi back. Worked really well. Cooked many meals at the house, nice fully equipped kitchen. Once again, easier with the kids.
In summary, very easy, very family friendly, would definitely stay there again. Thank you.
