When there is a problem it is how you put it right. At the Blu Hotel in St Lucia we were fronted with no hot water on arrival for a few days because of a boiler problem. The part was enroute from USA. For the next few days this was totally forgotten because of the warmth of the staff. If you want somewhere without hassle, no big crowds and good service then I would recommend one of the 70 rooms at this hotel. Located at the end of the road it is a few minutes walk to the beach and about 10-15 walk to the main centre. The food was nice and the bar well stocked. Piton the local brew is served in a chilled glass. Clean rooms, we had a ground floor pool view with terrace which was useful to get out of the sun for a while. Even in late November it was still mid 80's.
To apologise for the lack of hot water the hotel kindly gave us a dinner on the house. It was a kind gesture and as stated it is how you react to an issue. There are many local restaurants within walking distance. Buzz us a great upmarket place and the Red Snapper was excellent. Spinnakers on the beach is a must for cocktails at sunset.

Room Tip: Book a room with a terrace or balcony overlooking the pool

Been at the blu for 2 weeks all inclusive mid-end of Oct. Very quiet as low season. Everybody waiting for the high season with tourism business to pick up again. - If you are looking for a nice Caribbean beach with lots of options for night life entertainment restaurants and bars, Rodney Bay is the place to go. Beach is in 2 minutes walking distance from the Blu.
The hotel was also very quiet, just a few more couples and me. All food was a la carte and excellent quality - I had no complain. Small menu but with some great local dishes (most of the time I had fish like Mahi-Mahi, Tuna, Green Fig and Salt fish, Fish Cake but also some Beef Pepper-Pot or Duck) but you could also get your steak or burgers and chip if you feeling for it.
Good beers (Piton and Heineken) all included with the full package, good local rum, great table wine - and altough I am not a cocktail fan, but you have to try the brown skin girl, the banana in it even makes it healthy. :-)
Only point of concern is that its canned fruit juice they are using only. You may want to walk across to the beach as next to pinnacles bar you have some local ladies selling fresh homemade juice like Golden Apple for example. All tasted fantastic.
Room is great, bed very comfortable, air condition and fan doing a great job, not too noisy, I had no problem to sleep even with the karaoke bar 2 times a week making some noise its not too bad. Good to have a fridge in the room I could equip with all kind of beverages and snacks.
Bathroom, especially the shower needed some renovation but worked for me.
All in all great value you getting for your money.
And last but not least the stuff is just great, very welcoming, comforting me always with a smile.
Love you all Ladies and missing you. Gentlemen you are doing a great job.
Its a Caribbean experience what do you expect when you go there? - I will definitely go again.
& Many thanks for introducing me to India's Song!

Stayed here for a few nights to celebrate my wife's birthday. There were some ambiguous reviews so we had some trepidation before arrival. However it turned out to be excellent. The are some challenges here in terms of bathrooms which need modernizing although they are clean and functional but more than made up for by high quality bedrooms and memorable mattresses and the generally excellent quality of service. In particular the delightful Arcadia who was at the front desk and responded promptly efficiently and courteously to any requests and also the facilities manager / maintenance guy who had to come and change some bulbs and attend to a small technical issue we had with the room. Housekeeping staff and everybody was really lovely and friendly and made us feel very comfortable.

The hotel is a couple of minutes walk from Reduit Bay and pleasant 10 minutes walk from shops cafes and restaurants. We had a lovely time and also enjoyed time in the room with the large - US king size - comfy beds and good range of tv channels. Pool smallish but fun and nice cool looking and comfy poolside furniture. They have made a great effort with some success in terms of creating a kind of boutique feel - with not a great deal to work with in terms of the architecture. It is not the poshest hotel in St Lucia and does not pretend to be but it is stylish comfortable and definitely excellent value and ideally located for a low profile high value tropical beach getaway - notwithstanding the incongruously outmoded bathrooms.

Room Tip: Ground floor poolside

Huge thanks to Cathy, Kasha and President for their wonderful service as well as Soraya and the rest of her team. Nothing was too big an ask and always with a smile! Lovely hotel in a great location. We were there on a family holiday. Slightly disappointed that the kids club wasn't up and running.
Would definitely return.

Although a regular user of trip advisor I have registered simply so i can contradict every negative review of this hotel. First off every single member of staff from the guys who sweep out the front to the management team are always friendly and bend over backwards to make sure you enjoy your stay. Remy, President, Samantha and Shanta deserve special thanks. Yes, sometimes you do have to wait for food but you're in the Caribbean, not New York, everyone takes it easy here. Renovations are being carried out however a testament to the care they take over ensuring guests have a good time is the fact that we only realised when we saw men walking through with new air con units. If you get what you pay for blu hotel far exceeds anything for value for money and any negative reviews should be assumed to be written by people who enjoy nothing more than a good moan.

Room Tip: Top floor, main entrance side (Rms 301-312)

Really nice hotel, i did expect it to be a bit run down because of the quote i was given compared to the other hotels in the area but it turned out to be pretty amazing, the rooms were clean, a very nice pool and the breakfast was amazing.

The only issue i had was connecting to the wireless the first night arrived but it all worked out in the end.

I was staying alone attending a wedding but i would recommend it to everyone (couples, families, solo), right down the street from the beach and also restaurants along the strip.

Great staff as well, helpful and extremely nice.

Room Tip: I would suggest staying on the bottom floor, you have two lounge chairs on your deck facing the pool...

We spent last weekend at blu St. Lucia. For a mid-range hotel and accommodations were quite pleasant. The bed was very plush, the flat screen TV had a great picture and the in-room espresso maker was a very nice touch. We had a small problem with the espresso maker the first day but maintenance was very quick on getting a new one for us. He even brought a pot of hot water for us while he fixed it. The bathroom needs some updating but was functional. We will definitely stay there again when we visit.
