If you want a relaxing, quiet holiday, stay here. If you want to feel loved by the hotel staff, definitely stay here. We have just spent a thoroughly enjoyable two weeks here and would not hesitate to recommend it to others.

Room Tip: Poolside rooms are great and very convenient.

We stayed at the Blu 12 days and we have a splendid time. We where there the whole family i.e. 2 adults and daughter 15 and a son 20. We got a very nice rooms with connecting doors.
The hotel was clean and the rooms always nice and tidy. Staff was friendly and care taking always with a smile and want to be helpful. The hotel had also a fitness room which we used for our yoga practice in the morning. As said a nice and friendly hotel

My husband and I and a couple of friends have just come back from Blu Hotel, Rodney Bay. What a great hotel. This is the second Christmas we have stayed there. The hotel is so clean and inviting. The staff are amazing. The rooms are spacious and over look the pool. There are plenty of comfortable sun loungers around for sun bathing. The bar serves drinks and cocktails also bar snacks. They have an all inclusive deal as well. The beach is a 2 minute walk away. If you want a nice relaxing holiday in beautiful surroundings look no further. Blu is the place to be. The staff will look after you. Nothing is to much trouble. We shall being going back again.

We booked a family suite for my husband, myself and 20 year old son over Xmas. On arrival at the hotel we were told that the family suite was unavailable due to a problem with the air conditioning. We were upgraded to 2 suites that were adjacent but not connecting. Our son was over the moon with this! The rooms were lovely, huge extremely comfortable beds and clean. The bathrooms were a little dated but functional and on occasions there was no hot water, but it didn't bother us, after all we only needed a quick shower to freshen up.
All of the staff at the hotel were extremely friendly and helpful, always with a smile, even on Xmas eve when a terrible storm hit the island causing great devastation.
On Christmas Day we were unable to travel to the restaurant we had booked due to the state of the roads, the bar staff were fabulous at keeping us entertained throughout the day.
The hotel is in an excellent location , near to the beach and all the bars and restaurants in Rodney Bay. The pool is lovely and kept clean and tidy, but the sun loungers do fill up early.
Breakfast is excellent, there is a range of cooked and cold options with something for everyone. We found it best not to go to breakfast before 8am so that everything was available.
Service was relaxed, but we were on holiday with no need to rush.
We will most definitely return to the Blu again and would like to thank you all for making our christmas holiday extra special!

We stayed at the Blu for one week over the Christmas holidays. There was a series of issues during our stay which did unfortunately mar the experience for us but this hotel has its plus points and its areas of improvement.

Firstly the positives - The hotel is small, with under 100 rooms and so this creates a nice, friendly atmosphere which we enjoyed.

Rooms – we stayed in a family suite which was very spacious and generally well appointed. The beds are exceptionally comfortable and have good quality linens on them.
Wifi – this is the first hotel I have encountered where the Wifi was not only free but available throughout the hotel (rather than usually just the reception area). This was a massive plus to us as we wanted to be in contact with friends and family on Christmas day.
Location – it is located 5mins away from Reduit beach and near to many restaurants as well as the local shopping centre.
Food – We stayed on a B&B basis and would advise others to do the same as there are so many good restaurants nearby. However, the hotel food was very good at breakfast and we did eat one lunch and one dinner there too, both of which were very nice.

Now sadly, on to the negatives. Whilst I feel that this hotel has the potential to be a wonderful boutique hotel, sadly there are a number of things that let it down and following our experiences, I have to say that ineffective management seems to be the biggest problem here. I could easily slate this hotel but as I do still have a sense of warmth towards the place and the staff, I will focus on the main issues we encountered.

We arrived and went to our family suite (2 interconnecting rooms). In one room the air conditioning unit was not working properly and so we called the reception, who promptly sent a handyman to take a look. Following multiple visits and tests done by the handyman he advised us that the issue could not be resolved that day. The handyman had spoken to his manager to advise that a component in the condenser unit (located outside of the hotel room) was malfunctioning which was causing the problem. In the morning, before we left the hotel for the day we reminded the reception staff to please continue to resolve the problem with the A/C while we were out and we were assured this would be done. When we returned to the hotel in the afternoon, the A/C was still not working and no one had been to the room to do further works. To us, this was unacceptable as the problem had been reported more than 24 hours ago and it was now unbearable to be in that room without A/C. We asked to speak to the General Manager who informed us that she had not been made aware of the situation and that she wasn’t able to get in contact with the Repairs Manager. After much hoo-ha the GM finally confirmed to us that the problem with the A/C could not be fixed. She offered to move us to another room but advised us that it would have to be two separate rooms, not interconnecting rooms. We were not happy about this as one of the reasons we chose this hotel in the first place was because of the interconnecting rooms. After further probing, we found out that a family suite was in fact available and so we requested we were moved there. It was disappointing that this solution was not offered in the first place and that is was us who had to push to find this solution. We thought that this would then resolve our issues but sadly there were more (minor but still annoying!) things to come.

Firstly, the hotel clearly doesn’t ensure that all rooms are equally appointed. Within our two matching rooms we noticed several fundamental elements missing from one room but not from the other. For example, one bathroom didn’t have a handrail or a hook to be able to hang towels on. Nor was there a toilet roll holder and instead the toilet roll was sitting on the cistern. One of the front doors did not sit flush and so light (and mosquitoes!)came in all around the edges which was annoying mostly because the doors are not sound proofed. On two occasions we were without hot water and had to ask the handyman to come and fix this. Past reviews have shown that this has been a problem for some time at the hotel, so really there should be no excuses as to why this is still not completely resolved. To my mind, these are minor things that shouldn’t have to be an issue in the first place. The hotel should carry out checks before each arrival to ensure all fixtures and fittings are in place and that all equipment in the rooms is working correctly.

Breakfast is a real experience as numerous times we went to breakfast and waited near to an hour to receive an eggs order then when it arrived the order was completely wrong. They had cereal on offer but no bowls and when we asked for bowls they emerged 20 minutes later. By and large the service was very very slow. This is something that again, the management should be aware of and address as several reviewers have made comments on this.

It is clear from our experiences, that although the staff are friendly and warm, running the hotel ‘Caribbean style’ is really just an ineffective way to operate. The Caribbean, by nature, is relaxed and laid back but when you’re working in the hospitality and service industry it just isn’t possible to do things this way. All this serves to do is frustrate your guests and make more work for yourself. Attentive management, well trained staff and efficient service are what makes a hotel run well and keeps guests satisfied and this hotel could do with a big does of this.

Room Tip: A family suite is large and spacious and also further away from the noisy Karaoke bar!

Blu St. Lucia continue to be grateful for the contributions by their guests regardless of their review. During your stay, we endeavored to do everything possible to support the issues which you encountered, which included touching base with you on a daily basis to ensure that you were satisfied with the change on your second day of your stay. We concluded with you that you were satisfied with the change of room even though we did offer an upgrade, however you chose to stay within your room classification due to the interconnecting door. We addressed all issues you raised in humbleness to your comments, of which you concurred as well on your third day as well as with the dinner on Christmas Eve for your family.

Majority of the management of the hotel touched base with you daily. We are still regretful that you did not feel that we were effective providing solutions to the maintenance issues that we were experiencing in the hotel during the Flash Storm we experienced on Christmas Eve which left the island devastated, this also effected the hotel and some of our team members, which we did explain to you.

The hot water issue was a technical issue which we resolved, however we have increased our hot water capacity since then in order to support any further technical issues.

The hotel continues to invest in areas which can sometimes lead to intermittent experiences to the guest stay, but we strive to perfect these issues so that we can continue to provide the best we can to our guest vacation experience.

The industry we are in is a dynamic one, but we do our very utmost at all times to efficiently manage situations. We can only continue to improve within whatever circumstances which arise.

Again, we are grateful for the review.

Took my husband for his birthday, he was more than happy and grateful. You don't always find staff as polite as those at the Blu. My husband and I couldn't stop speaking about the wonderful kind and helpful people not only at the Blu but St Lucia as a whole. Thanks for a marvelous time and for making us feel at home away from home. Special thanks to Cathy, the massage therapist, the receptionist and everyone else who made our stay wonderful.

Such a shame to be giving this hotel such a bad review.
Me & my partner stayed here for 2 nights after crossing the Atlantic with The Arc. The room is lovely, the bed was SO comfy - it was a US Kingsize - lush!!
The staff were really friendly, the cocktails were great, breakfast was tasty & the pool was lovely & clean.

This hotel would have got 4 stars if it were not for the noise on the last night.

There was a bar just over the fence next to the hotel which played music SO LOUD it was resonating around our hotel room. At midnight we heard the DJ announce the start of Karaoke. I looked at my partner in horror!! Surely not!!!
That is when things got really bad. At 12.30 we rang down to reception asking them to do something about the noise, there was no chance we could sleep through it. They informed us that the bar had a license until 2am & that they couldn't do anything until then - to our horror!!! But fair enough if there is nothing they can do. We tried turning the TV up full blast to drown out the howling of next door - no luck there!!

At 2.15 am when we were pulling our hair out we called down again as it still hadn't stopped. The employee informed us he had rang the police & they would shut the noise down as soon as the police got there. The music finally died down just after 2.30am.

I understand there is only so much the hotel can do - but there should be some sort of warning about the noise on certain nights! To pay $150 for a room & only be able to sleep after 2.30am, when the whole point we booked was for some rest, is unacceptable!! Our room was on the side of the hotel right next to said bar - the hotel is big & was mostly empty, they could have at least tried to place us away from the noise. Our complaint came as no surprise to the staff member so this is clearly not a one off.

Just beware before you book!!!!!!!

Like I said such a shame - everything else was excellent.

Blu St. Lucia, continue to endeavor to meet our guests expectations, by providing,
friendly, genuine, and professional service. The hotel being located in the main touristic environment on the island can be subject to some elements of entertainment noise. We continue work with our neighbors to respect that our guests whom are here for a certain time on vacation and to support the industry by way of being more empathetic by way of reducing the sound pollution. We do communicate regularly and they have shown respect in this time. We do however contribute this time to being one of a more festive time of the year which might have elevated beyond normal levels.

We apologize that your stay was interrupted, and hope that your positive aspects of your stay with us as you expressed will rise to the forefront of your memory.

Sincerely
Blu Management
