“Beautiful View with wonderful accomodations.”
Reviewed 6 April 2015 for a stay in March 2015

Our hosts Hector and Gale were wonderful. They arranged private taxi service to and from the airport to their home.
Their home is located overlooking Rodney Bay. You get a great view of the Bay, the Marina and Pigeon Island. At night the area is all lit up.
The rental suite was clean and well cared for. Two suites share the deck and the pool area, but for the most part we were on our own. Great privacy. The pool was large enough that you can swim in it.
15 minute walk to the beach. 3 grocery stores within 10 minutes. Many restaurants close by.
Hector arranged tours for us and the tours picked us up and dropped us off at the house.
Hector also took us to the Friday night fish fry at Gros Islet.
Because the home is up on the hill, if you want to walk into town be prepared to walk back up the hill to home. Also you have to cross the highway, with no cross walks.
Overall great visit.

“Wow - what a location & fabulous apartment!”
Reviewed 18 March 2015 for a stay in March 2015

My husband & I have just returned from a 9 night stay in Suite A - one of the stunning apartments in Rodney Bay Heights. The apartment is fabulous - situated on the hillside overlooking Rodney Bay Marina & coastline - and with a large area of decking we spent our early mornings & evenings sitting outside with a rum & coke admiring the view.
The apartment is spacious for a couple & finished to a high standard - lovely comfortable & large king-size bed - we slept like logs every night. Modern shower room & sitting area / kitchen with all the conveniences we needed during our stay.
The apartment is one of two - both share a huge decked area & have their own outside seating & table. There is good sized shared pool & sheltered comfy seating area also.
We tended not to use the pool a great deal as we spent our time on several of the local beaches. The Rodney Bay Beach is the closest & easiest to access - clean. soft sand & clear turquoise sea. Beach can get quite busy on days when theres a cruise ship in town. The beauty of this beach is the beach restaurant Spinnakers - who serve one of the tastiest cheese burger & chips weve ever tasted (naughty but nice)!
We hired a jeep & also visited the beach at Landings (great sunbeds & a bit quieter), natural cove at Cap Maison (and best food ever eaten at a beach) & the beach at Le Sport fab too.
We found St Lucia relatively easy to get around in our jeep - sign posting is sometimes a little lacking & south of Castries the roads were very pot-holed - but beautiful scenery & well worth our explorations to Marigot Bay & Soufriere.
What really made the holiday special was the attention & assistance from the owner, Hector Joseph - he gave us loads of advice about where to go & helped us get into a few places we may have missed as non-locals. He arranged for a jeep to be delivered to the apartment - which took all the hassle out of sorting it ourselves. He really looks after his guests and goes out of his way to ensure guests get the best out of their holiday.
We loved our time in St Lucia & would definitely recommend this accommodation - if you like a bit more peace & quiet & time to relax - this place is for you.

“Gorgeous view and extremely well appointed unit”

We stayed 2 nights in Hector and Gale's suite and were treated to a beautiful ans classy unit, along with incredible views and first-rate service.

The bed was made up with flower petals on arrival, the pool was waiting for us, and Hector showed us the amenities.

We are walkers, and we loved the short walk down to Rodney Bay, and even the hill on the way back. We were able to park our vehicle for the two days - wonderful since we spent the previous week driving around the entire island.

We encourage others to stay here.

“Great apartment with fantastic terrace and views”

We visited St Lucia for two weeks from 6 January 2015; staying one week in Rodney Bay Suites, Rodney Bay and the second in Marigot Bay. Hector and Gale were great hosts and although Gale was unwell, Hector took us to the Friday night street party in Gros Islet, which was a brilliant, lively night out – not to be missed. The apartment is in Rodney Heights and as such, is on a steep hill. This didn’t bother us but the faint-hearted would probably need to get a taxi to and from Rodney Bay village. The bedroom was a little small; overtaken by a massive bed but generally the apartment and facilities were a good size for two. The views and terrace, however, were fantastic. The terrace is very large with a decent size pool, as long as you’re no Mark Spitz, and the views of Rodney Bay harbour are stunning. We had a really great week here and would definitely recommend Rodney Bay Suites. In the village there are some truly good restaurants and cafés so you’ll never go hungry and a mango margarita from Delirious is a must! Reduit beach is the best on the island, and with the attractive Pigeon Island just a short hop away you get plenty of choice.

“Worthy of a return”

Sue and I are retired and reasonably seasoned travelers, having been to Saint Lucia on a number of previous occasions, either by cruise stops or extended stays, we decided on this occasion to stay with Hector and Gale for 28 days.
We took note of the reviews online and expected to enjoy our stay.
I can say without reservation that it lived up to its promise; it is exactly as the the online reviews describe it and the photos reflect its perfect location for a view that is equal to any on the island.
Hector and Gale are excellent hosts, they live above both suites which are adjacent to each other on the lower level next to the pool and patio area, the pool is very clean and well maintained, equally so.. the suites are cleaned most days to a high std.
The suites have a large decking area outside with a small table and chairs thats ideal for early morning breakfast whilst enjoying a splendid view over Rodney Bay and Gros-Islet area; Pigeon Island and Martinique in the distance on clear days.

The suites are very smart with reasonable facilities, the TV service was upgraded whilst we were there to digital which was a good improvement, the tv itself needs to be updated in suite B now to match the better one in Suite A...the WiFi is excellent.
Both suites have air con in the bedroom only, we did not use it at all, preferring to leave the windows open for the gentle breeze that blows through out the islands, never feeling that security was an issue, the window have good fly screens that prevent any bugs from entering.

Rodney Bay is pretty much the beating heart of the island and some evening noise should be expected though it is not at all intrusive, the capital Castries is just a short bus ride away...speaking of which; it is an excellent way of getting around the island and cheap to boot.
Sue and I used the bus service extensively, having hired a car on several previous visits; it is without doubt an excellent way to travel locally, though I would suggest if you wish to travel further; a car is recommended. I believe that Hector is now able to provide a rental car at a reduced rate for his guests.
The house sits at the top of a rather steep hill and for those of a less able disposition, a car or taxi to the top is probably a requirement but Sue and I walked it every day and found it o.k.
Locally; the shops within walking distance are well stocked and prices are comparable with U.K prices.

Is it perfect....well no..nothing ever is, but if you want a well appointed self catering option holiday at a very good price and really excellent views then you won't go far wrong with this place.
small spoilers of note are the number of local dogs that are used presumably for security, they do bark quite often and occasionally for some time, particularly in the early morning, however if you leave your windows open at night then you can expect to hear them.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and we have provisionally booked another month for next year, its that good!! whether we go back or not will be determined by the fact that we have been to Saint Lucia quite a few times, not by any failings in the accommodation.

We are able to highly recommend RBS Studios and thank Hector and Gale for their hospitality and friendly disposition.

“Beautiful suite, location and super hosts!!!!!!!!”
Reviewed 25 January 2015 for a stay in January 2015

My wife and I have stayed at numerous Caribbean locations and this place is definitely one of our all time favorites! We have stayed at 5 star resorts, bed and breakfasts and top all-inclusives and they have nothing on this place. Hector and Gale are great hosts and do a wonderful job making their guests feel at home in their private suites. I will briefly review all aspects of our trip:
Accommodations: Gated home. Nice room with king size bed...AC in bedroom. Cable TV, WIFI, bathroom with shower, kitchen with all accessories and nice size refridgerator. Beautiful deck with large pool with an amazing view. Provides a local cell phone to be used while visiting( extra minutes can be purchased at local grocery store). Maid service is provided 3 times per week.
Location: Rodney Bay is by far the nicest area in St. Lucia. Best restaurants, beaches, only casino on island. The suite is within walking of Rodney Bay but we used a taxi as it is up a pretty steep hill. Best beach on island is Reduit beach which is very close to Rodney Bay and Pigeon Island is also close which offer a great view and nice hike. You can rent lounge chairs/umbrella at both locations. Also, we drove to "The Landings" resort and on arrival told them we would be having lunch so they gave us a guest pass and we were able to use their facilities, lounger chairs, rafts, umbrella, extra towels, got waitress service (pina coladas) and had a nice lunch for aprox $80. Well worth it.
Restaurants: We ate at Tapas, Big Chef, Spinnakers, Tao, The Cliff at Cap Masion. All of the dinners were excellent and we have eaten at many fine establishments over the years. The Cliff and Big Chef were the most expensive..aprox $200 for a couple with some cocktails but well worth it.
Service: Hector does a great job.....nothing is ever a problem and he delivers exactly what he says he will do. He easily arranged our taxi to/from his suite for $80 USD, (driver was waiting for us as we arrived from Newark, NJ)and drove us the 1.5 hours to location. I would recommend this as it is a long drive and after traveling, it was nice to leave the driving to someone else. The driver (Elvis) stopped on our way at Super J so we could get some groceries for the week and more importantly some Piton (local beer)...even gave us his loyalty card. The grocery stores are close but if you don't get a car, it would be tough getting stuff later so go in with a list of what you need. We ate at the suite for breakfast, got some cold cuts for a few lunches and brought a cooler to the beach and ate all dinners out.
Hector will also arrange any tours you would like. We did the Segway tour(highly recommend) near Reduit beach and the "Land and Sea" which was all day...little too long on the land side but nice nonetheless. Hector was also very accommodating dropping us off in Rodney Bay and Reduit beach to save us from getting a taxi which we got back for $8. Hector arranged to have a jeep dropped off at location for us for 4 days and took me to police station to get temp drivers license ($20). Also, on our last night(Friday), Hector took us out to the street party and showed us the local scene which was really an experience in Gros Islet.
All in all, it was fantastic. If your goal is to see St. Lucia and explore this gorgeous island, then this is the place to stay as it really has everything you need. If you want all inclusive then go to Mexico, Punta Cana, and Jamaica as it is complete waste in my opinion to spend the money to travel to St. Luca and not eat in the excellent restaurants or see the various beaches. St. Lucia residents are very friendly people and we always felt safe. Relax and enjoy RBS......you won't be disappointed!!!
