“Amazing vacation at Morgan Bay Beach Resort in St. Lucia”
Reviewed 18 August 2012

My best friend and I had never been to the Carribean and so we started researching destinations and stumbled upon Morgan Bay Beach Resort. We booked a 7 day/6 night trip to the resort in August 2012 not really knowing how this resort was going to be in terms of the rooms, views, food and overall atmosphere. We were absolutely blown away by this resort and we were pleased beyond our expectations. The conceirges desk/people were really wonderful and were happy to assist us with everything and anything that we asked of them during our visit. The food was really great, fresh and the various restaurants on-site offered a terrific variety of food ranging from Asian, Italian, Carribean and even seafood. There are so many great activities offered right there at the resort and the banana boat, kayaking, paddle boats and hobby kat were all included. They even offered jet ski activities at a very reasonable price. We even booked a Land and Sea Adventure with Joy's Cruises and he and his staff were great and we definitely got our money's worth from the trip adventure we took to the Pitons, Mud Bath, Rainforest and Snorkeling. The nightly enetertainment was also terrific and the bands were awesome. We will absolutely be planning another vacation and return to the Morgan Bay Beach Resort. The entire staff from the bartenders, room cleaning personnel, singers and players in the bands to even the security officers on-site were all absolutely friendly, helpful and went above and beyond in their jobs to ensure our trip was an amazing one. Kudos to all at the Morgan Bay Beach Resort.

Room Tip: If you truly want an incredible view of the Carribean and want to go to sleep and wake up with the w...

We have just arrived back from Morgan Bay today. The hotel was excellant, they upgraded our room to a suite and I requested a room in the renovated blocks, there was champagne in the fridge to celebrate our wedding anniversary and non-alcoholic fizz for the girls birthdays. It is the staff who make the resort special, they were friendly, easy going but professional, nothing was too much trouble. If there was a problem it was dealt with quickly and efficiently. The resort was clean and tidy and was constantly being maintained, it does require some work to the pool areas but the beach was amazing. There were locals selling local jewellery, coconuts but it was never a problem if you said no that was it-no hassle. There is a constant presence of security but again visual but unobtrusive and friendly. Hats off to the Watersports lads who constantly assisted guests to use their equipment and teach them. There was a constant array of activity and watersorts on offer but the free water skiing makes the holiday. The guys are constantly whizzing skiers across the bay offering advice to experienced and new. Thanks to all of them they are a true asset to the hotel. My daughter spent many an afternoon playing cricket on the beach with guests, staff and Jermaine-activities instructor who is great entertainment and fun- he however is not pleased if caught out, he could be heard laughing, joking and shouting "Catch it" across the beach. The food was good and we ate in all the restaurants except the Jardin, our favourite was the pier-have the lobster it is worth the surcharge-it was huge.

Thre Manager should be proud of their staff they are fantastic and accomadating-the holiday is ideal for everyone in the family, from reading books on the beach, to trying new sports, socialising at the bar it well worth the money. When they have completed the refurbishment it will excellant. Please please do not charge for waterskiing n the future and keep up the exisiting watersports available.
Thanks for a great holiday ;)

Room Tip: Ask for a reburbished room 900-1200 block

Morgan Bay Resort was a great place to stay for a first vacation with my boyfriend! The resort is beautiful, well maintained, and welcoming. Staff like Jonny "water sports", Emma, and "V" made our experience an unforgettable one filled with memories that will last a lifetime. Jonny is SO knowledgeable with all the water sports equipment. He made exploring the different activities so much fun, filled with laughs and jokes. He is such a kind person, who is so outgoing and friendly- a terrific person to have on staff for those very reasons. If you like to drink and have fun (which we do), Emma is the bartender to see! She seems to have fun doing her job and her enthusiasm and excitement is contagious! She will have you enjoying a delicious BBC in the pool the entire day. All the staff at the resort were great to be around, super helpful and a lot of fun. There were a bunch of families there but if you're a couple, this resort is a perfect place for two ;) Oh yeah, and "V" is the man, you can find him on the dance floor :)

Room Tip: Joy's Cruise was UNBELIEVABLE definitely recommend it! Volcano trip, waterfalls and hott springs...

After reading the reviews about the Morgan Bay Resort, I was a little worried about having my wedding/honeymoon at this location. After staying at the resort for 10 days, I realized the negative reviews did not do the resort justice. First of all (as many have stated) Pamela Nurse, the wedding coordinator, was phenomenal. She made sure my husband and I were satisfied with our accommodations and the resort services before, during and after the wedding. Our guests were extremely impressed with her professional and enthusiastic demeanor as well as the presentation of the wedding and reception location. She is definitely a gem and a true asset to the resort. Our photographer Hewan and videographer Neila from Colorbox are the greatest! Their work is exceptional. Nothing but rave reviews from our family and friends. The staff was amazing, especially Marilene, Marie, Soriyah, Jarvis, Kennyson, Dennis, Emma, Claudia, Theresa, Allison (guest service), Allison (restaurant), Nadia, Shawn, Chantale, Beverly, Terrence, Darian, Benjamin, Ron, Lennox, Germain, Dinah, Kinneth, Janelle, Jacqueline, Vanessa, Adrian and Vatale to name a few. The food was delicious, the rooms were cleaned daily, the landscape was beautiful and the overall resort appearance was acceptable. Yes, they have family friendly nightly entertainment until 11pm. They have free water sports activities on the beach. I would strongly recommend the Joy Cruise (not affiliated with the resort), located on the beach near the Morgan Pier. Our guides Eli, Tierra, and Raymond were excellent. Also, the Friday night street party in Rodney Bay is a must! As far as food, you can make dinner reservations for Morgan Pier and the Bambou up to 3 days in advance. They have excellent food and I would recommend you make a reservation (in the lobby area) once you get settled in. For lunch you can walk into the Bambou and Morgan Pier has a beach bbq that is delicious (no reservations necessary). The Palms and Plum Tree (poolside) don’t require reservations. The Le Jardin is another restaurant on the property, but there is a fee of $25 pp. We had the opportunity to experience all of them and we have no complaints. The location of the resort is a plus, about 10 minutes (via the local bus) from Rodney Bay and 15 minutes from Castries (via the local bus). You have the opportunity to enjoy the resort as well as local people and activities. Would I visit Morgan Bay Resort……yesssssss! See you next year for carnival.

Room Tip: The 900-1200 rooms have a great view of the resort and ocean. Also, the rooms are closer to the adu...

We went to this resort mid July 2012. While we have been to St.Lucia before and really enjoyed it I was somewhat disappointed with this resort. We had booked a room with two double beds. When we arrived we had one king size and a cot against a wall. This was not apporpriate for our adult daughter. They changed our room but not until 3:00 the next day. The resort claims to be all inclusive and yet one of the restaurants you had to pay $25 US a person to eat there and some of the same menu items could be had at the free restaurants. Each of the other restaurant menus stated you could have steak for an additional $20.00 US a person. You could get water at the bar but it didn't open until 10:00 so you either drank the water from the room or you bought water.

While they had two bars, generally only the one at the adult pool was open throughout the day. The line-ups were generally very long as this was the place to get drinks for both adults and kids. The fastest way to get a drink was to go into the pool and swim up to the bar.

The resort claims to have an adult pool but generally there were teenagers (10 -15 year olds)in the pool. The annoying part was not that they were in there but while trying to swim or relax they would be throwing a ball around and several adults were seen ducking so as not to get hit but a few were.

Most places we have gone to include transportation into town as they want tourists to spend their money to help the economy. If you wanted to go into town it was $25.US a person.

The beach was nice although very crowded and depending on where you sat you could smell the sewer system. The food was average and I didn't find the staff very friendly. We went zip lining (100 US) through the rain forest, which was great. The water fall was not very impressive as they haven't had much water so it was just a trickle (nothing they could have done about this). My husband and daughter went for an all day exercusion (100 US) which included scuba diving, lunch, visiting the volcano and they really had a good time.

All in all it was an okay trip but for the kind of money we spent I expected more.

Room Tip: The waterfront rooms are the best as the othe rooms are up on the hills.

Dear Valued Guests,

Thank you very much for taking the time to read our reply. We greatly value your time, and our guests' feedback as part of our ongoing efforts to provide a terrific Caribbean holiday.

Morgan Bay Beach Resort is one of the most popular holiday destinations in St. Lucia, and for good reason. We offer an excellent, relaxing holiday, and very good value for money.

Our All-Inclusive program includes meals, snacks, and unlimited beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) by the glass. Like many All-Inlclusive resorts, we also offer an upscale, on-site dining option that requires a nominal $25 surcharge. This allows us to provide enhanced service and menu items for those guests who desire it, while maintaining our very competitive night rates for all guests throughout the resort.

When visiting St. Lucia, we certainly encourage all guests to get out and explore the island, and take in the rich history, culture, and natural beauty that St. Lucia is famous for. A wide variety of tours, excursions, and shopping trips may be booked through the resort's on-site tour desk. For those guests who wish to venture into town, or site see around the island, taxis are readily available, as are rental cars. Taxis do charge for their service, as they would in any city or resort destination. However, we feel the taxi rates are very competitive compared with most major cities.

The vast majority of our guests report that they greatly enjoyed the food, beverage, and bar service at Morgan Bay. We constantly strive for excellent customer service, and receive very high guest satisfaction ratings.

We are sorry if at any time during this guest's stay there were teenagers present in the Adults Pool. This should not have been the case, and we have put measures in place to check this facility throughout the day to ensure that the Adults Pool remains a serene and relaxing location for adult guests to enjoy a peaceful holiday.

Please know that we read all our reviews, and we hope you will take this as a clear demonstration of our commitment to providing great service and a quality vacation for all our guests.

We look forward to seeing you at Morgan Bay, and thanks again for stopping by our TripAdvisor site.

Kind regards,

My husband and I spent our honeymoon at Morgan's Bay and it was very good. When we arrived on July 23rd we were greeted with warm smiles and a welcome drink. We were quickly ushered to our room ( the room was ready so that was a plus). The food was great especially at Palms ... Ms. Rachel and her staff were always pleasant and made us feel quite at home. The service was generally good however during the latter part of the week we noticed that the quality of service with front desk staff left much to be desired as we had to wait several minutes ( a little more than 1/2 hour in one instance) before a shuttle could take us to our rooms. There was definitelya correlation between the quality of service and the number of visitors at the resort ie. the more visitors = decline in service. Nevertheless we enjoyed our stay. We think that during the peak period the Resort needs to hire more staff. We recommend this resort nevertheless.
