“Fabulous Week at The Landings!”
Reviewed 11 April 2014

Our family, two adults and two girls (ages 12 and 14) just spent a fabulous spring break week at The Landings. The resort is beautiful. Our villa (422) was fabulous and in a GREAT location, right next to the restaurant and the beach! It was a 3 bedroom, 3 1/2 bath and had everything you could want. It was clean and had all top grade finishes. The beach here is great. Safe, relaxing and enjoyable. Used the sailboats, went jet skiing, loved the fruit man coming each day!

Enjoyed the walk to Pigeon Island and climbed both hills. Met Malakai at Pigeon Island. We hired him for a day to take us down to Soufriere to see the sulfur springs, snorkel and the waterfalls. What a great trip in his boat down the coast. Go with him! So much more enjoyable than getting in a large boat or worse yet a van full of people to travel on land!

The location to town was nice. A quick trip by taxi. Hated spending the extra $15 each way each night to have dinner. But, we enjoy trying the local restaurants. We did eat dinner at the resort a couple of nights. Dinner is good. We just like to see the real St. Lucia. Best dinner all week...and least expensive.....Key Largo Pizza!!! Fabulous!

Loved everything about the resort. If anything....a quick deli type, ice cream, sundries shop would be nice. But, no other complaints!

Room Tip: Villa 422....close to restaurant, pool, beach. Faced marina.....thought we wanted beach front...but...

As you are doing now, we reviewed, researched and re-reviewed The Landings from as many directions now possible. Our expectations based on visions presented and the documentations of fellow travelers. To our pleasure we found our expectations warranted and exceeded by being in the reality created intentionally within The Landings.

Imagine your condominium completed to demanding specifications on a pristine beach with predictably perfect weather. From the marble floors to the cornice work, one can see craftsmanship detailed by artisans and attended to by a skilled, attentive and an almost invisible housekeeping network.

From the front desk to the pristine beach you feel the presence of a calm attentive staff, all of which you would of chosen, had you the opportunity to do so.

Imagine if you will, a place where you begin to prepare for your return, prior to your departure.

Earlier this month we had the opportunity to be guests of The Landings.

Upon exiting the plane, we found ourselves warmed by the sun. Foliage diverse, rich in color, as brilliant as the smiles of the calm and courteous residents. The British influence apparent in the level of sophistication and courtesy.

Our arrival found us entering a property as impressive as anticipated. The entrance opened into a cathedral scaled atrium open to the elements. The chess set appropriate and inviting.

The suite consisted of individual on-suites, each consisting of a sleep area, ample storage space and a washroom of designer quality and outfitted with top quality fixtures. The entertainment area consisted of a complete, full equipped state of the art kitchen, expansive living room and a dining room suite presented artfully - entertaining many close friends easily imagined. The balconies comfortably equipped with deck furniture, faced the the bay and contained a personal, visually private spa. Being sound orientated, we found pleasure in the intense quiet within the apartment. Our only distractions were generated by gentle winds and occasional rain.

A routine developed in which we would attend the beach restaurant, being greeted by personal, fast becoming friends. The breakfast buffet diverse, both European and local in flavor, intensity, artfully presented and delicious. A walk seemed almost meditative as we greeted fellow travelers on the beach. Swimming within a supervised area was highlighted by colorful marine life and the warming play of both families and lovers. Our occasional foray outside the property was supervised and obtained through The Landings. We were able to partake in a wide variety of events including local street foods, Independence Day festivities, day trips consisting of in part, catamaran rides, Segway off-roading, zip-line rushes and of course champagne toasts to the sunset on a luxury yacht. Our evenings typically spend in quiet reflection and in private after a pleasant meal, sometimes in the main restaurant.

When you arrive at The Landings, please extend warm greetings from us to our friends, being the management and staff.
Please also mention, we look forward to our return.
Enjoy your expectations being realized and exceeded.

Spent 7 nights February 8 thru February 15 away from snowstorm in NYC and absolutely a wonderful experience with 4 adults. The service and professional staff couldn't be more attentive to my family. Recommend private car service to and from restaurants real class and wonderful drivers. Would recommend the Cliff Restaurant over all on island.

Looking forward in returning soon to the Landing.

Indubitably life altering. The Landings did indeed surpass all that was anticipated. The surreal beauty of the topography only marginally dwarfed by the exotic souls that graced our stay with their presence. Kudos to Nidhi, Tim and Selma to name but a few for their attentive yet unobtrusive service.

The only portal of complaint resonates with me for deluding myself into believing two weeks would suffice.

We just returned from a 7-night stay at The Landings. Upon our arrival, I requested a room closer to our friend's unit and the front desk staff (including Jesse) were happy to help us.

Our family always opts for a condo set up so that we have a choice of cooking in or eating out and the ability for everyone to spread out (i.e. the kids have their own bedroom and bathroom). We were initially drawn to the configuration of the rooms - 1400 sq feet, 2 beds, 2.5 baths, full kitchen, LR, DR, W&D. The units at the Landings did not disappoint. We've stayed in many such condos and this by far, was the nicest. The appliances were all very high end (Miele and Liebherr) and the furnishings were very nice, clean and modern. To aid in operation of the appliances, there were 2 laminated instruction pages in the kitchen with every bit of detail needed to turn everything on and off properly. An added bonus was the hot tub on our beautiful terrace. The beds are super comfortable and every room has its own AC so everyone could adjust the temperature to his/her liking.

While researching this property, we carefully took into consideration other reviewers experiences and as such, set our expectations around the service appropriately. Having traveled in the Caribbean, we know that meals often take a little longer and you should expect to ask more than once for water or the check. Having said that, we planned accordingly so as not to feel rushed if things were slower than usual. We weren't disappointed. The wait staff at the restaurant was super nice and tried very hard to be accommodating. As an example, some of our family and a friend's family opted to go deep sea fishing and the boat departed at 7. Those working at the restaurant were more than happy to supply us with some fruit, bagels, etc for our children even though the restaurant wasn't open yet. Additionally, we were able to walk in and order a meal and the staff gladly delivered it to the beach or pool without pause. Breakfast was included in our package and we found it to be a super value. There was an omelet station every morning, with fresh juices and many options. I disagree that its on par with an Embassy Suites breakfast.

Lucia (the concierge), always had a smile on her face and was eager to help us plan dinners out, arrange for baby-sitting and assist in planning special outings. We booked a day long boat trip to the south end of the island to visit the Pitons, waterfalls, volcano, sulphur springs etc and Lucia hooked us up with Captain Willy and JR. They were fantastic!

Our daughters (ages 9 & 5) were eager to try out the kids club for an afternoon. They immediately fell in love with Cathy and her constant enthusiasm for making sure the kids were having a blast. At $5 per hour, per child, its a total bargain and provides a little breathing room for parents who need a little adult time. Cathy was helpful in securing baby-sitters, too.

Unlike others, I found the number of activities to be adequate. There were plenty of non-motor water sports available (paddle boarding, kayaking, hobie cats, snorkels etc) and I never felt rushed by one of the attendants. There's a great little hike just 10 minutes away on Pigeon Island with a Gilligan's Island type restaurant at the bottom of the hill, serving local dishes and cold drinks.

**I would suggest to management that a few additional kids' size life jackets be added to the assortment. Our group had 4 kids 9 and under and there was only 1 life jacket that fit. The same holds true for the snorkeling equipment. There were a couple of occasions where we were unable to check out gear because it was already out for the day. Finally, I would recommend having an attendant with towels and a sign out sheet for equipment nearer the actual equipment.**

My husband visited the gym and found it to be very adequate. It's clean and well-appointed..

Lastly, we left something behind and I called to ask if the item had been found by housekeeping. Jesse called me back within 15 minutes to tell me it had.

Long story short, we'd stay at the Landings again and we'd recommend it to our friends!

Room Tip: There are ocean front rooms (some have hot tubs on the terrace).

We really appreciate that you reviewed us carefully before selecting The Landings for your getaway. Thank you for staying with us and thank you also for your detailed comments. Lucia, Jesse, Cathy and all of us appreciate being mentioned. I have shared your comment about the kids sized life jackets and we will get some more. It was great to hear that Jesse found your missing item. We enjoyed having you as our guests and look forward to seeing you again soon.

While I have used Tripadvisor many many times, I have yet to write a review, until now.
We recently returned from the Landings (two families of 2 adults and 2 lower school children each).
Our entire 7 nights at the Landings was wonderful.
We appreciated the professional and warm service we experienced. The villa's were impeccably maintained with daily housekeeping and evening turn down service. All the fixtures and furnishings were beautiful and functional.
The setting is amongst the most idilic to be found anywhere.
We enjoyed all the water toys that were available free of charge at the beach.
The food was very good.
We are ready to book for next year...

We stayed at The Landings last month and had wonderful time. The resort is a bit far from the airport; however we booked a helicopter in advance to get us there upon arrival. If you can swing it I highly recommend it. It took us nine minutes to get to the hotel as opposed to 1.5 hours!! Plus the views and experience was very memorable - kids ages 13 and 15 loved it. Well worth the money after a hellish trip trying to get out of the states after a snow storm. Check in was a breeze and we were greeted with fruit and rum punches which were strong and hit the spot after a VERY long travel day(s).

We requested an ocean front condo and stayed in 132 (I think that was the number). It was a beautiful two bedroom, third floor condo with spectacular views. We really found only one fault with our condo which was the fridge wasn't working upon arrival. However the staff was quick to remedy the problem and fixed it within a day. We stocked up on essentials at the grocery store in town, which is quick cab ride and were set for the week. I have to say the condo was one of the nicest we have stayed in and the hot tub (which was hot) on our patio overlooking the ocean/beach was such a nice way to relax and enjoy and sunset. I was very impressed with housekeeping; they did a great job cleaning and restocking water and towels in a timely manner. Turn down service every night was a nice touch, they were always spot on. I have to say the condo was one of the nicest we have stayed in and the hot tub (which was hot) on our patio overlooking the ocean/beach was such a nice way to relax and enjoy and sunset.

Overall the resort was truly beautiful with a well maintained beach and landscaping. I used the gym daily; it was a just quick walk from our condo. It was clean and the equipment was in good in shape. There was a morning yoga class, which I didn’t partake, but looked like fun. My husband and son used the tennis courts (which are lit for night playing), however if you play you might want to bring new tennis balls. We picked some up in town. They didn’t use the pro, however he gave my son a few pointers when he saw him playing and my husband said he gave him some good advice!

We took a few excursions, a private boat to snorkel and see the Pitons (through Exodus Boat Charters), hiked over to Pigeon Island and did the ATV tours (Aanansi tours). I booked the snorkel/boat tour and the ATV myself, directly with the companies. Both were well worth it and we had a great time. We were picked up right from our hotel and they were fun half day adventures. The hike is an easy walk from the hotel and at the top of the island you can explore Fort Rodney and see some spectacular views. You can also snorkel and have lunch over there (although the snorkeling isn’t that great).

The island of St. Lucia is truly beautiful, as is The Landings. However, it is not cheap. The drinks at the resort are expensive, as is the food and I really didn’t find either to be over the top. We had breakfast included (which was worth it), had lunch at The Landings Beach Club restaurant (which was good) and usually had dinner in town (there are some great restaurants). With that said, we still had a wonderful vacation and hope to go back again someday!

Room Tip: Request Ocean Front Room! So worth it, room 132 was beautiful

We too think that the helicopter option is a great way to get here, and to see our lovely island from the air. Thank you for you nice words about our hotel and about our lovely island too. We are pleased that you got out and explored both our scenery and our restaurants too. We hope to see you again. Thank you.
