We have just returned from the landings where we stayed for 11 nights, it's definitely the best 5 star accommodation that we have stayed in over our years of travelling. We loved our villa which looked over the marina, lovely and quiet. I was thinking before we left that we should have booked a beach front but once there was so pleased with 804 which was on the ground level.

Thank you to the front reception for welcoming us so early as we had an early flight from POS. We arrived at the hotel around 6.30am and we were offered breakfast whilst they prepared the room. Excellent service!!!

It was the Jazz festival whilst we were here, although we didn't attend any of the big events we loved the live Jazz at the Fire and Grill in Rodney Bay over the weekend. Great atmosphere!

Breakfast was buffet whilst the Jazz festival was on and this was ok but then when festival finished we had al la carte breakfast which was much better. Be clear when ordering your items as we found most days we were given the wrong breakfast. We believe that it was the kitchen who got it wrong rather than the waitress as Brenda one day took our order, repeated it and then when it arrived it was wrong. Spoke to Brenda and she then went to the kitchen to have a word. Wasn't a big problem as we were in the Caribbean and things are relatively slow paced, so when considering your holiday you should take this into account. Just wish we could live our lives like this.

Lunches were lovely, service very good.

Dinner wasn't very good, only eat 1 night at the Beach Club. Please, please, please don't go all inclusive as you will be disappointed unless you don't mind eating very mediocre food and the same menu with very limited choice which I believe only changes weekly. Palm restaurant is only open Sunday and Thursdays. Can't comment on food but only 1 couple eating when we were there on the Sunday. (all inclusive couple)

Beach was fantastic, lovely bay with clear water and so relaxing. It's the only place in the Caribbean that we have been to where we have not been hassled. Please remember that the beaches are not private and we are guests of the islanders whose beaches these are. I loved watching the locals walking along and they often bring the school children for their swimming lessons. It's a kids paradise!!

Loved the fruit boat that passed by a couple of times per day to sell his fruit. Expensive but who cares it's something you won't probably ever experience again.

We didn't do any excursions this time as we were there to relax.

Eat out at Rodney Bay most nights. We knew before we booked that it was 30 dollars round trip with tips 40 dollars. So if you are there for a few weeks it can add another 400 dollars + onto your bill. It's a shame that they don't run the shuttle a few times at night only 9, 12 and 3 it's stops after 3pm. I heard that the hotel gets a 50% cut of the fare from various people over the course of our holiday. I think this is wrong, very wrong, at least if we are paying then give it to the locals who are doing the work for it. It seems that no money from the big wigs is getting filtered down to the locals. No wonder some of these people feel bitter towards us. Such a shame!!

Go and enjoy this beautiful place, it truly is wonderful if you can leave your modern day attitude and way of life back home and pick it back up when you leave. This way you can experience the true Caribbean.

The Big Chef was very good
Spice of India very good
Fire and Grill good
Blue Olives ok
Jacques aka Froggies ok

You must try the local chicken Rotis, excellent!!

Would definitely return even with the above not so good comments. This could be so, so, so, amazing if they got the food and transport sorted out. I would even go to say it could be one of our favourite places in the world.

Must not forget housekeeping, thank you so much. Our room was cleaned to the highest standards each day, they even come to do turn down.

Amazing bed and bed linen. Normally I'm looking forward to getting home to my own bed, not this time. Best bed and linen ever.

Room Tip: Any room, all good.

Spent 6 days at the Landings during the jazz festival 2014. Wonderful place to stay. Especially during the festival, due to its convenient proximity to Pigeon Island, where the main events are held.

Now I stayed in a three room suite (rm 103). It was one of the best rooms, id say. Right next to the Beach club restaurant. We literally could crawl to the buffet breakfast every morning! Which is delicious, by the way. Jacuzzi on our outside patio, and access to the beach. Room gets four stars. Washer/dryer. Stainless steel appliances, full kitchen. very well cleaned. But bring your bug spray, mosquitos are prevalent. Quiet, clean, private beach.

negatives: the "upscale" restaurant, only open 2x a week, had very poor selection of food. The food was average at best. I wouldn't go there. Stick to beach club if you eating at hotel.
- Concierge desk, and the customer service could use improvement.
- not many offered options for dining.

Room Tip: Beach front rooms. Only way to go!.

We stayed at The Landings for the second week of our honeymoon, and we were not disappointed.

The room - more of an upmarket apartment - was huge and very well appointed, with a huge amount of open-plan living space and a fully functioning kitchen - this gave us the option of eating out or self cater. The rooms have a full width patio, and huge sliding doors overlooking a modern marina, we did not have a sea view. (Just watch out that the local birds do know when the sliding doors are open!!). The gym in the main hotel building is excellent, as is the Spa - my wife enjoyed a fantastic massage.

Food was really good, as were the cocktails - the Friday night Tapas was exceptional and breakfast always had a wide variety of options.

We met the general manager, Lyle, a number of times, and he was always very friendly and happy to chat and give us sound local advice - including tips visiting the Jump Up in Gros Islet, which we did.

The Jump Up was actually great fun, and a highlight of our stay. We read some slightly off reviews, but on balance we felt they are unfair. Like any street festival in any city or town - just get involved and take part with a good sense of fun, but just take the usual sensible precautions with valuables and stick to the main areas. We had a real fun evening drinking rum with the buzzing crowd until late in the night!

The hotel is reasonably close to the town/Rodney Bay, but is a short taxi ride away - the supermarkets are really easy to use and are well-stocked. We did think (like many others it seems) that a shop on site would have been very handy.

Our only small niggle - the service was a little 'intermittent' at times, but the staff were mostly very good, helpful and friendly.

Overall, a truly remarkable, relaxing and unique place to stay, and we hope to be back one day!

I had spent countless hours of researching Caribbean destinations and resorts. The Landings made the top of my list for St. Lucia, in which all my family has been wanting to visit for its' lush greenery and mountainous terrain. My resort criteria was: a property that the majority of the reviews are good/excellent, that it is located on the beach, with an onsite restaurant, at least one pool, a 2 bedroom with a kitchen and beach food/beverage service. We own timeshare and usually stay in 2 bedroom units that are quite nice and were looking for similar type accommodations for this trip without using our timeshare. Which is what we found at The Landings, as this resort has 1, 2 and 3 bedroom units, very similar to a high end timeshare. We chose a 2 bedroom Harbor View (without Jacuzzi) and stayed April 23-30th, 2014, with 2 adults and 2 teens.

First, a summary of our stay was that we loved it! The service was excellent upon arrival, our unit was beautiful, spacious, and clean, with lovely views and the building location perfectly located within the resort for our family. Also, the food was delicious, we were happy to have beach service, the water sports equipment fun for us to use, the beach was fabulous and with beautiful scenery, most of the staff warm and friendly and we felt as if we would love to return to The Landings again. The resort had almost all the things we look for in a resort at a great beach destination. Only a few minor improvements and I would rate this property Excellent with a 5 our of 5 rating.

More details about the Pros: Staff upon arriving was very warm and welcoming, the lobby impressive, the rum punch a nice delicious touch, especially after a long tedious drive (we rented a car and my husband drove, the island is not well marked and the roads a bit challenging). Upon helping us to our room, the friendly and welcoming Troy, showed us around our 2 bedroom Harbor View Unit (unit 813) and showed us a few things and how they worked. I had asked ahead of time through email if our unit could be on a higher floor, closer to the beach if possible, which is exactly what we received. Our unit was on the second floor and just a short walk to the beach. We loved how the entrance to our villa was a massive balcony that over looked one of the pools and unexpectedly had views of the ocean and mountains. There was a master bedroom with comfortable king size bed, en suite bathroom including double sinks, a soaking tub and shower. The second bedroom had twin beds and its’ own en suite bathroom. The living room was open to the dining area, modern full size kitchen and had another large balcony that was furnished with a patio chair, lounge chair and a dining table overlooking the pretty, tranquil marina. All of the décor, furnishings and appliances were not only beautiful but of high quality. There was also a very nice half bathroom that had a washer and dryer in it. Both bedrooms had sliding glass doors, not only with nice views, but providing nice natural daylight. One of the nicest resort accommodations we have ever stayed in our traveling over the past 18 years as a family. Which also reminds me of a really nice surprise we received during our stay, a lovely cheese and fruit platter and a nice bottle of red wine for our 18th Wedding Anniversary (I had mentioned in my email to the resort prior to our stay that we were celebrating our 18th anniversary on this trip). Thank you, Landings for the special surprise; we really appreciated the lovely gesture! We also enjoyed our yummy buffet breakfasts and delicious lunches and cocktails on the beach. The beach always had plenty of sun loungers and umbrellas. The scenery was also so great, looking out at the calm, clear green waters with the mountains in view to the left and Pigeon Island to the right, one of our favorite things about this resort. We felt the beach size was quite large enough, with white powdery sand and pleasantly quiet during our stay, with the majority of guests being families. The gym was also clean and a nice size for a resort gym and the use of the sailboats and kayaks a fun activity for our family, especially my son and husband, who got a lesson from Sheldon and fell in love with sailing!

Now even though we loved our stay, there were some things that are worth noting as the resort could use a couple of suggestions for improvement. I have rated The Landings a 4 out of 5 but think if the Resort improved in just a couple of areas, it could easily be rated a 5 out of 5 rating. The service was great from reception, the front gate, the bellman, the sports equipment guys (especially Sheldon) and the maid service, however, the wait staff, beach service staff and concierge need improvement. The definition of service is an act of helpful activity, to help or aid, which was lacking from these three areas. More staff is needed on the beach as most of the time there was only 1 server for the entire beach and it appeared as though that the server we had most days did not enjoy her job, making us feel as if we were bothersome. There was more staff at the restaurant, but lending generally the same feeling. The service wasn’t poor, it was just okay and one would expect excellent service at a resort claiming to be luxury resort. On the other hand, Concierge service was poor. It started before we even arrived, when I tried using the Concierge link online and had no response (I did eventually get my requests acknowledged, but this was only through Reservations after failed attempts with Concierge). Once there, we visited the Concierge desk and were interested in several tours that were on the resort website and were looking to schedule some of them. To our surprise, they were not very helpful in discussing different tour options, they offered one tour and said that was all there was. The lack of information and choices was off putting, I felt as though they were just trying to fill spots on that one particular tour, not asking what we wanted or what even were interested in or didn't give much information on tours that we specifically asked about. Again, felt like a bother. We ended up booking only one tour due to the lack of what was presented. We wouldn’t recommend the tour we did do (I will do a separate review under the tour provider’s name). Lastly, was the Spa experience. My daughter and I had pedicures and the ladies were very nice and did a good job, but the atmosphere of a peaceful spa was not what we experienced in the treatment room, the waiting area was nice enough, but not the treatment room. All that is needed is for the TV to be turned off and a bit of peaceful spa music turned on, with also maybe a glass of cold water offered, as it was very hot in the room. I do not want to watch TV during a spa treatment, not my idea of relaxing, especially when the background noise is a loud talk show. So, those were the 4 areas that fell below expectations, but were not bad enough that I would complain as being unacceptable, just mere suggestions to improve upon.

This resort met our needs and or exceeded our expectations, we had a great family vacation and enjoyed our stay at The Landings and in beautiful St. Lucia. We hope you enjoy yours too if you decide to visit.

Room Tip: If you will spend most of your time at the beach and are not reserving a beachfront villa, ask for a...

This hotel was one of the best hotels I've stayed at in the world. The views are spectacular and the service was unbelievable. All the units face either the beach or the harbor/inlet. The 3 bedroom unit we stayed in had a patio that spanned the entire unit. The main family room had huge sliding doors that led to the balcony and a hot tub (yes, hot tub on the balcony).

Our package came with breakfast every morning and I cannot say enough about the chef and the food. Every meal was out of this world.

We also had lots of free activities like paddle board and kayaks.

The location of the resort is fairly far north in St Lucia which was a drawback but it also gave us an opportunity to see most of the island. The shops and restaurants at Rodney Bay were very close which made it easy to get out and about.

Looking forward to the next trip to St Lucia and staying here again!

My wife and two children stayed for 11 nights in a three bedroom apartment in mid April. Upon arrival, we were impressed as the hotel looks very nice and our room was very impressive and huge with good facilities, ensuites throughout, a well equipped kitchen and a very large balcony with a whirlpool hot tub. We went for the marina view and I would thoroughly recommend this over the sea view as they are much quieter with a pleasant view of the boats. By contrast the sea views sound nice but they overlook the beach and beach bar/restaurant and this must get noisy pretty much all day and most of the night.
That's where the good news ends. First disappointing discovery is there is no hotel bar, they do have a very nice looking bar outside the Palms restaurant in the hotel but ridiculous as it sounds, they only choose to open this twice a week evenings only! The only bar is in the beach bar/restaurant where breakfast, lunch and dinner is served. The setting for this restauant is quite pleasant but forget having a quick beer at the bar as it is too small and constantly crowded with table waitresses and waiters. If you want a drink you need to take a table and whilst you are seated and served relatively quickly by friendly staff, it must be an average of approx 20 minutes before your drinks turn up!!!!!!! Over time you will find this most frustrating an on one occasion, the food we ordered turned up before the drinks! Lord know what the bar man does, and after the first few days, if we did reluctantly chose to eat or drink there, it had to be a bucket of beer of a bottle of wine to keep things simple, order a cocktail and be prepared for a long wait......not good and far below our expectation for a five star resort.
Sticking with the restaurants, the beach bar/ restaurant does provide a relatively basic menu but when it did arrive, it was relatively good although I did think $45 US plus service per head for a buffet with terrible drinks service was a bit steep. Breakfast was good but they did have a serious fly problem on the second half of our break and little effort was made to cover food which does spoil your appetite a tad.
We did give their flagship "Palms" restaurant a go where we actually got to have a drink at the hotel bar, but given that this is quite pricey, the food was average, service poor and i was quite disappointed to buy an expensive wine only to find that I had to keep topping our own glasses up. They really need to understand that this should be part of the service in what is supposed to be a fine dinning restaurant.....little thinks like this matter,
You will be surprised to also find that such a large resort does not have a decent sized pool. What they do have are at least three small pools that we used. First impressions were not good but to be fair, we never failed to find space with at least two sunbeds on pools that have just 10-20 around each one. The beach is the other option and has a nice setting with plenty of sunbeds but regrettably you do get the early morning brigade arriving by the sunbeds at 7am to reserve the best spots and then disappeared until much later, if not even lunch time. Really selfish thing to do where there are plenty of families looking for space and the disappointing things were a) the culprits seemed to be fellow Brits and b) the hotel does absolutely nothing about it!
Another disappointing discovery was that entertainment was very limited, they have two events happening each week from what I can see but it would have been nice, particularly for the kids to have more as the hotel is very quiet. That being said there will be some of you reading this who will quite like that.
Last disappointing discovery that I have to say is quite unacceptable, is that there is no shop and if you want things like sun block, snacks for room or souvenirs you have to take a $30US round trip to Rodney Bay which became a major inconvenience on a daily basis and not what you expect from a five star resort.
Closing on a positive note, we did all have a massage at the spar and the ladies there were very friendly and gave a good massage, definitely recommend a visit if you are staying here.
Therefore, in conclusion whilst this hotel does have a very nice room offering, I question how this can rate itself as a five star resort and is definitely not worth the money. Other than room and spar, this has to be the worst offering I have had from a hotel in its class.

Room Tip: Go for a marina view if you want peace and quiet

The stay went well. The condo units are beautiful and very well constructed and appointed. Closer to the beach is better. Save the $ and get a marina view--still nice. Food service is a bit of a mixed lot, but staff is always nice. HOWEVER, check the billing carefully--I'm still trying to resolve a billing err regarding the prepayment and it's been over a month. Island time does exist on St. Lucia.

Room Tip: Closer to the beach, but not on the beach is still okay. Great marina views.
